Pros:

It did work somewhat for a while. But it never completely cleared my skin up. And, when my skin was pretty clear, it was never "healthy". I would still break out with ocassional pimples, so i was never completely clear. My skin was unhealthy.

Cons:

It BLEACHES stuff. Not ALL because fabrics are different but i have many shirts and sheets that have been bleached from touching my face, even after the cream has dried. Decreases in effectiveness after a while, never completely clear and unhealthy

I stopped using it, but i do think about going back on it when I break out. But my skin was not healthy.

Pros:

It seemed to give my skin a glow - but that might just be my imagination. Moisturiser with sunscreen has a great texture. I'm still using that now.

Cons:

Made my skin a lot worse than how it started off. Gave me huge painful pimples that scarred no matter whether I picked at them or not.

I used to have isolated break outs - this seemed to have accumulated all the break outs I would possibly have over a whole year and dumped it all on my skin in a month. The frustrating thing is that I used it exactly according to instrutions and never skipped a step. Since the first day I started using it, I started to break out in huge painful pus-filled pimples - one at a time initially and the final straw came when I had at least 8 of these pimples simultaneously. The day after I stopped using Proactiv and resumed my regular AHA facewash, these pimples started to heal up and it has been about a week now and my face is pimple-free. Except of course, I now have heaps of ugly scarring. Sigh. I was really hopeful and Proactiv really let me down.

Pros:

Good scrub (Could be stronger though)
The sulfur mask is pretty good too

Cons:

Witch Hazel in Astringent + no alcohol + no salycylic acid (Witch hazel is known to clog pores)
Lotion is very weak and dries your face out after awhile (2.5%)
EXPENSIVE!! And its not worth it for the amount they give you.

This product is over-hyped by the celebrity endorsed commercials, and isnt worth the money. However, the scrub is good that they give you. It contains benzoyl-peroxide 2.5%, and has little micro-granules in it. The astrigent takes forevor to dry, and makes your face feel somewhat oily afterwards. The lotion, which they dont give you much of, isn't strong enough and dries your face out. The first introductory shipment they give you is $20 and is half the size of the regular shipment, which includes the sulfur mask, but is extra if you want it with your following shipments. There are various shipping frequencies. I was on the 6 week schedule, and it costs $40 every shipment. My advice: AVOID PROACTIV!! The only reason that this product is succeeding, is beacuse of the celebrities, and because people do not research acne care before they decide to take action against it. What works for me, is to research ingredients and develop a regimen of products that works best against acne.

Pros:

Refreshing feeling, balances skin tone, non-comedogenic product

Cons:

Dry, flakey skin, expensive

Proactive works extremely well for some people, and for others it may not work. I think it is important to give it a try and not to give up on it because products take a little time to see a difference. I have seen amazing results from proactive, but from personal experience, it did not make my skin clearer. I still use it because I am in the process of figuring out whether I should keep using it or switch. Best wishes! :)

Pros:

Worked for the first few days & did clear up a few pimples

Cons:

Kind of the same as the pros it only worked temporarily, then it just seemed to stop.

Dont waste your money! This product consists mainly of benzoyl peroxide & for alot of people that just isnt enough. You also need like salicylic acid to balance your skin. Please dont waste your money.

Pros:

The products are very user friendly and smell nice.

Cons:

Can have the ability to dru out skin on face as well as other areas.

I used Proactiv forquite a few months, and in the beginning it seemed to make my face so smooth and appear to begin looking more clear with exception of blemishes. Then I started to notice that my face was getting the bumps back on it, and also I noticed that my right hand had dry scaly-like places on it(which was the dominant hand that I would use to put on products). I stopped for a coupleof days to see if my hand would get better, and my face broke out even worse!! Now I have more bumps than I did before I started. I am at a loss because I don't want to continue this treatment at this rate! Maybe it works for some, but definitely not me!

Pros:

Keeps acne from getting worse.

Cons:

doesnt work if you have mild to severe acne!! and if you dont use it for one day you have a severe breakout

This product is for people for have light to mild acne. I used to use this product 2 times a day, 7 days a week last year and my acne was light-mild. Then I didnt use it for a week and my acne got bad. it has stayed bad for about 3 months and is not getting better and i quit using proactiv last week to move on to something more effective.

Pros:

It smelled okay. And it cleared up my face prolly 10%

Cons:

I have been using it for a little over a month and my acne hasn't gotten any better. Also, if you skip one day your face breaks out a lot.

It doesn't work. I used it for about a month and a half and it worked very little. Seeing the commercials and infomercials and such I was expecting my face to become clear and blemish free like they show to the public. They make this stuff look like a miracle worker. It deffinately isn't. It gave me far from what I was expecting. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

Pros:

I did notice a slight improvement and it made my skin less oily. I liked how the products felt very light, fresh and clean.

Cons:

Too expensive for my budget. My skin also became dependent on it and if I missed a day or two I would break out. It also didn't get rid of my acne.

For me it didn't work miracles but it did work a bit. I was so excited to try it after wanting to order it for so many years and finally having it. It made my skin less oily and I did notice a bit of an improvement but it was not what I had hoped for. I break out during that time of the month and Proactive didn't seem to help with this problem at all. Unfortunately I'm allergic to sulpha drugs so I couldn't use the mask. My skin has become dependent on it to the point where if I miss a day or two (which often happens when waiting for the next package to arrive)I will break out. And it's definately too expensive for me because I live in Canada and it worked out to be about $60+ every two months. I have cancelled my subscription (which scares me because I'm so dependent on it) and I am now starting Retin-A, I actually just started it tonight. I've also been on Minocin for the past few years which helps a bit too. I pray the Retin-A will work for me without the horrible side effects :S

Pros:

There's a Proactiv product for every need - cleansing, spot treatment, moisturizer with SPF, masks, etc.

Cons:

If you don't use the exact same amount all the time then it's hard to get the automatic delivery in sync with you.

I have seen results for sure, mostly with the paiful syst type blemishes. It doesn't do much for blackheads, and for anything in between it's hard to find a balance between affective and over-drying. Their moisturizers don't work too well, although they don't feel heavy or pore-clogging either. It does work, but it's not a miracle cure. I'm still looking for something similar that's not a huge automatic charge to my credit card.
