Pros:

Smells nice and it isn't too harsh on the skin. The exfoliating cleanser felt nice. The green tea moisturizer smells REALLY good and feels nice.

Cons:

Didn't work for me.

My cystic acne stayed the same. Didn't get worse, didn't get better. I'm on doxycycline and benzaclin now and it has worked wonders. I would really recommend that for people having trouble. GO TO A DOCTOR. They can assess your skin and make the best choice for your situation. 'One size fits all' does not apply to skin care!

Pros:

works for a little while.

Cons:

Stains clothing, your skin gets dependent on it so if you stop using it you break out again.

I didn't need this product but my aunt had bought it and after she received it realized she ordered the wrong thing. It was never opened so she gave it to me. I heard all the rave reviews so I decided to try it. I got the occasional zit so I figured it couldnt hurt. I used it for awhile and when I ran out I just didnt order anymore since I never really had a need for it anyway. Big Mistake. As soon as I stopped using it I broke out constantly. And I noticed all of my clothes and towels were stained with huge bleach spots. So now I am stuck with zits and I need to buy new clothes. Thanks Proactiv!

Pros:

Your skin feels really clean after using this.

Cons:

Dryness

This is actually my third time trying this product, but im sticking it out this time. You people that say it runs out to soon are probably using waaaay to much of the product. You only need a little. The more you use, the more your skin becomes dry, and the more likely you are to break out. You can break out just as easily from dry skin as you can from excessive oily skin.

Pros:

Worked "OK" for about a month, everything smelt good.

Cons:

stopped working quickly, dried my skin out badly, I felt like if i smiled my face was gonna crack, I ran out to quick, didnt last me near 3 months, to expensive!

The TV is fooling everybody, I seen the commercial and grew hope, then was let down.......I would reccomend Dan's regimen, working better for me then Proactiv. I use... 1)Cetaphil gentle cleansing bar 2)Dan's BP 3)Cetaphil moisturizing lotion

Pros:

Bloody God-send.

Cons:

The cleanser

When I first used it, I used the cleanser twice a day. The cleanser is an exfoliator. Teenagers should only be exfoliating two-three times a week. I learnt this after my skin became dry, even with moisturizing. It didn't give me more breakouts or anything, but just dried out my skin. But now, I've replaced the cleanser with a more gentle one and only use the Proactiv-cleanser twice a week. I cannot express enough how much Proactiv has helped me. I really can't. My face would probably be bursting with cysts if it wasn't for this product. I will get the odd pimple maybe during my menstrual cycle, but that's it. I LOVE Proactiv. It works it works it works it works. After Acnefree destroyed my face, Proactiv helped to repair some of it. (Besides the scaring, which I am doomed to look at forever)

Pros:

The product works well for a few months

Cons:

After a long time of using it; it stopped working

AcneFree is a lot cheaper and I noticed more results with this product. Proactiv is a bit pricey and does work if you religously use it however it seems like the product looses its effect after a while. It dries out your face ALOT - its not gentle at all like the commercial makes it out to be. Tons of publicity and the product isn't great.

Pros:

it works if you faithfully using it.

Cons:

price. bottles should be clear so i know how much is left.

im on and off with it. when i was 16 it worked great, faithful for a year...untill it started affecting the wallet.. so i stopped and it had gotten really bad to the point where friends and family would say "OMG......what happened to your face?" that made me feel really bad and uncomfortable. so started buying it on and off again, because of the price. i tried everything!!!! i started oil pulling and other home remedies like apple cider vinegar, none seem to help. i also tried murad and it made my break outs worse....ever since murad ibreak out in places ive never broke out before..stopped murad after a month and bought neutrogena product. GUESS WHAT?......... didnt help.......so my mom bought the clinique 3 step acne solution, on it for 2weeks....and really dried a even more acne came, clinique specialist told me it suppose to get worse before better.....so ill give it 3 more weeks and see what happens. if it doesnt help im for sure back to proactiv.

Pros:

Seemed to work well, only used it every second or third day but after a month my skin was clear. . .even before my period.

Cons:

Rip-off price. At at a yard sale, a lady had some unused kits that she bought for the 39.99 a couple years back and I noticed the sizes were DOUBLE what they are now! The cleanser and toner were 8 oz. and the repairing lotion was 4 oz!

I cancelled my subscription after seeing their special deal of 19.99 was only because they cut their sizes in HALF! Proactiv is good but they are a scammy company!!!

Pros:

It made my skin smoother, and whiter. But that's about it.

Cons:

I've used it before one year before I tried it again now. It worked okay before so I thought I'd try it again because I was desperate. And it actually made my acne worse! I have large lumps of acne on my face!

Don't buy into the advertising. It probably would work the same as any other product out there that costs much cheaper! I have sensitive and combination skin. So maybe this product was too harsh.

Pros:

Pros don't really matter if the product doesn't work

Cons:

Doesn't work. Had just as many or worse spots as before use. Expensive.

I don't have severe acne, just some random spots here and there after getting off the BC pill. Used the gritty cleanser, toner, and repairing lotion program. Face felt clean after use and I thought it would work, however spots did not disappear and I believe they got worse. After finding this site, I did the Regimen featured on this site with a cleanser and moisturizer I had laying around plus the 2.5% Proactiv repairing lotion, and my face got better literally overnight. So I am returning the proactiv set and purchasing the acne.org products. A nice gentle cleansing is the exact opposite of the gritty proactiv scrubbing!
