Pros:

Nothing!

After one year of use it STILL didn't work! What a waste of money!!

I've been off of proactiv for almost two months. Once I stopped using proactiv my face cleared up! It makes me sick how much money I wasted on this stupid product!

ur skin gets used to it so it doesnt work about after two weeks or so

do not recommend.my story is i had completely flawless skin, until my mom made me do it,(she has bad acne) and she just told me how it worked and how effective it was.and the results-ugh! now, i have papules and whiteheads all spread over my face!!)': it has literally killed me! but in the previous months, ive tried something new besides proactiv......a gentle but effective cleanser- purpose theyre moisturizer - purpose (spf 15(:) and a presciption the doctor gave me. go to a derm., it will help alot. if youve been, then try purpose- ^ its derm approved to. if youve noticed, i dont see any of the big names being derm approved. u can find it at kroger beside all of the other face products((: good luck!(:

Pros:

Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser
Nice exfoliant
Kept skin around my nostrils from flaking

Cons:

Smells bad
Didn't help acne at all
Toner and lotion made skin oily

I bought the 1 month supply, and it worked the first day. THAT'S IT. I was out of town and i washed my face with it the next morning, and it took away all of my tiny white heads and kept them away. The next month that I kept using it, i kept breaking out as usual. I thought toner was used to keep my skin fresh and have a nice texture throughout the day, right? Apparently not. It made my face feel sticky and made it slightly oily. I have VERY oily skin, so this was not good to start off the day with already oily skin. I would use as little of the lotion as possible, but that too would make my skin end up oily. Definitely a rip off. Pleaseeeee try something else before this!

Pros:

clears acne
gives skin a healthy glow
skin stays clear and moisturized

Cons:

a little bit of overdrying at first

I use proactiv now and absolutely love it! I would recommend it to anyone! I contemplated over and over on whether or not to get it. I used to get occasional breakouts and nothing seemed to get rid of them. I've tried top of the line acne treatment systems like murad and dermalogica and it made my acne worse. So I switched to clearasil and that worked alright, but still the breakouts would not go away. Then I looked into proactiv, read a ton of reviews and asked a lot of opinions. I finally decided to try it and the bottom line is it actually works! For once it's not a scam. It does dry your skin out a little bit at first but the green tea moisturizer definitely helps with that. I started seeing results in a week. It's amazing! I would recommend it to anyone with mild acne.

Pros:

Made skin slightly smoother
Concealed (Is that even good?) acne for about a month

Cons:

Acne became incredibly unmanageable
Many, widely varied kinds of acne showing up in random places on face

Seemed great when I started using it. My skin indeed seem to clear up overnight. However, after about a month, my acne began coming back. With friends. Realizing the futility of the so-called treatment, I stopped using it. Now, my acne, which used to be mild and very manageable, is uncontrollable. I've broken out ridiculously since stopping with this product. Any acne I do have cannot be controlled with any method. Complete and total scam.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Proactive is a very harsh product that dries out your skin, and I was told to discontinue use of this product by multiple dermatologists because it's only meant for very oily skin, or those with severe acne. Their customer service is the WORST that I have experienced, they supposedly shipped me a kit, but I NEVER received it, and they still charged me $50....for something I never even got.

EXTREMELY RUDE! Basically told me that they didn't care that I didn't get the product, and to pay them anyways. Not what I consider good business, and definitely not what I consider a good product!

Pros:

-reduces incidence of cystic acne

Cons:

-only maintained the breakouts already on my face and did not clear my skin
-made my face turn very red
-did nothing for pores or blackheads
-you cannot wear make-up over system because it leaves skin feeling "oily" and makeup will melt right off
-TOO EXPENSIVE and does not offer results advertised
-"bait and switch" offer says you will get system for $19.95 which turns into one payment for that price and then they charge you $29.95 a month later
-Toner bleached my pillow c

Do not buy into the marketing of this product. I used Proactiv consistently for about a year until it became apparent that the product was doing nothing for me. Initially your skin does look better, but after the first month there are no other "results" to be seen. It's a waste of time and money to use this product and you're better off going to a dermatologist and trying something there because this is certainly not the miracle acne treatment they pretend it is. Furthermore, they make it so you run out of the toner way before anything else and the shipments come way too soon. Billing is also electronic and it pulls money out of your account automatically if you enter a credit card number, and the only way you can stop that is to call and cancel your subscription. Save yourself the time and energy and do not buy this product.

Pros:

It worked consistently for about 2 years. I'd get the occasional pimple but it clears up in a few days. God, I miss those days...never had to worry too much about acne...

Cons:

After that 2 years, it stopped working completely. Breakouts were ten times as bad as before. Bacterial infection spread from my forehead to my cheek like fire. Dries out skin, smells weird, but willing to deal if it worked

Would try it, but I'd look for other ways because it may not work after a while. Also, there are way better products out there that don't dry out your skin and have stronger elements than just the benzyl in proactive that makes it work better than the average drug store product. Now, I'm on an oral prescription called Solodyn (135 mg), which I take with food an hour before sleeping. I've been on at least 6 months and it's gotten rid of the red, pus-filled pimples and red bumps that used to bother me so much. Much easier than topical medications. I take it once daily and you get used to it. Sure you might get some side effects like dizziness or nausea but until I find something better, it's just the price you pay for clearer skin.
