Pros:

Works for a while, didn't dry my skin. Didn't make my acne worse

Cons:

It works on and off, takes along time to work, didn't work that well, i hated the toner.

it worked when i had mild acne, but i didn't notice the difference until a year later when i couldn't afford it. than my acne went kableooy! now i have like slightly severe acne! Use it. only if you can afford it. Use Mary Kay!

Pros:

I have less breakouts after I started using it. I used to need BP 10% over my T-zone which is very drying and causes my skin to be red, but now I only need to spot-treat with BP 10% with an applicator.

Cons:

It dried out my skin around my chin, so now I only use it on the oily parts of my face (T-zone), and that works well.

It works well in combination with spot treatment with a stronger BP cream (I use Clearasil). I skip the cleanser because I want to avoid susceptibility to sun damage - caused by BP in areas that are not oily, and daily microdermabrasion, whose particles are too coarse than what I use normally.

Pros:

Good exfoliant, does work to some extent. Also, the toner shows you how much of your make up you miss when you just wash your face with soap.

Cons:

Time consuming to use, the benzoyl peroxide bleaches shirts and sheets.

I used the products regularly for a while and I felt that it helped, but after a bit I got lazy because I felt like I spent all this time but my face still wasn't completely clear. I would use just the first part, the wash, and then go to bed. Now that I'm back to using all the products regularly I really don't feel like it's doing much. I've heard that it stops working after some time.

Pros:

-Does significantly help smooth out skin and clear up acne

Cons:

-Makes even oily skin extremely dry and flaky for a few weeks/months

I have been using Proactiv for over a year, and it has helped my acne quite a lot. While it isn't magic - I still get breakouts near "that time of the month" - it noticably decreases your acne, and helps even and smooth out your complexion. HOWEVER, my skin was extremely dry for about two months, so much so that my skin could only handle being washed once a day. Once my skin got accustomed to it, though, it really started to work. It took about three months for me to start seeing results, but my skin has been for the most part very clear and smooth ever since.

Pros:

Makes skin smooth, great if used 2 times a day every day

Cons:

I am allergic to Blue 1, one of the ingredients in the toner, so I cannot use that. I believe not using the whole system means I don't get the full power of it.

Alright.

Pros:

Clears and prevents breakouts, does clear blackheads (but it takes awhile).

Cons:

Quite drying, so I only use it a few times a week.

Good product if you're willing to deal with some burning and stinging. If your acne isn't terribly severe, I definitely wouldn't use it twice a day, or even everyday. But all in all, the product works well.

Pros:

Prevents adult pimples from forming. Smoother and Clearer skin after long term usage. Still works for me after 10 years.

Cons:

Causes dryness and discomfort when using at recommended dosage. Does not work for all types of acne (such as ones caused by ingrown hair .. etc). Does not remove blackheads. Active ingredient, Benzo Peroxide, does not work for everyone.

I have been using this product for about 10 years. It works for me; however, I don't recommend this product to everyone because some skin types are simply allergic to the the active ingredient, Benzo Peroxide, even at low dosage. My recommendation? If you are thinking about using this product find out if your skin can tolerate 2.5% Benzo Peroxide. In general, know your skin type and its reaction to active ingredients before using any acne products. Recommended Dosage: I found the recommended dosage of 2X a day to be too harsh on my skin. My regiment is 1X a day (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) in the morning after shave and shower. Delivery Frequency: I have Proactiv delivered once every 6 months. The customer service will accommodates you. This makes the cost more manageable. Additional facial cleansing tip for men: I NEVER use soap for day to day cleansing. It drys up and irritates my skin. I use Neutrogenia's Glycerin based liquid facial cleanser.

Pros:

Very affordable. Really worked for myself as well as my daughter. The important thing is to take the time to do all three steps. I keep 1 in the shower and I use it on my chest and back too.

Cons:

How often it is sent. I call and put the order on hold until I use everything up, or I call and just get a box of step one to even out all my unused step 2 and 3, you use alot more of step one then 2, and 3.

Would highly reccommed it to anyone with moderate acne. There is a comparable product at Walmart, Acne free and that works pretty good but is still not as good as the pro active.

Pros:

um......it's nicely packaged

Cons:

Well seeing as how it's supposed to clear acne and it doesn't clear my moderate acne...i would have to say that that's the major con, and for the amount it cost it should work. it's not worth the money!

It doesn't work!

Pros:

Within days, I noticed a huge difference. It even got rid of the blackheads on my nose that most acne meds miss.

Cons:

It does dry out the face.

Well it dries the face so you have to spend more $$ just to get the special facial lotion. How many steps do you really have to follow and at what cost?
