Pros:

Quick results
Really does help with breakouts

Cons:

Over time, can be extremely dehydrating
Bleaches clothes

Proactiv reminds me a little of the double-edged sword that is chemotherapy. Yes, chemo can kill cancer, but it also almost kills you in the process. The same is true with Proactiv - the BP will kill your acne, but it will also strip your skin of many essential oils and nutrients. I used this for years, only going off of it when my skin got clear enough that I felt that constantly applying BP to good skin would be damaging. What I noticed was that as much as my breakouts were kept at bay, Proactiv ultimately made my skin more sensitive and dry, as well as rougher in texture. What scared me was the fact that after accidentally wiping a tiny bit of my shirt, the cotton bleached and eventually became thinner and thinner until it formed a hole. The idea that I was putting such a harsh chemical on my FACE every day kind of freaked me out. I think there are natural methods to improving skin that are far better than creams/lotions like Proactiv that basically kill everything.

Pros:

-Does get rid of acne, at least for some

Cons:

-DRIES OUT SKIN LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE
-Cleanser has beads that can be a bit harsh
-Toner doesn't really do anything
-Expensive!

My mom ordered this for me after I asked her for it. I wanted to try this for awhile. At first, it worked. My acne and pimples cleared up, it was great. Then I noticed I started to get a bit dry. I didn't wash my face in the morning at the time, only at night. I thought no problem, and I just applied some lotion to my face in the morning and I was good to go. My face slowly got drier and drier and drier to the point where I didn't want to even smile because I knew my skin would crack. So it did work for me, but the dryness is soo not worth it.

Pros:

Reduces your acne withing a month.

Cons:

My skin gets dry after using proactiv for a while (and I use a small amount).
Still have dirt and black heads. The Strips makes my skin worse. You HAVE to use it 2x a day. Then you will have acne again. I still get a pimple or alil bit of acne at least once a week or two weeks.

Is only good for light to moderate acne.

Pros:

Easy to use
Works well
Clears up acne without drying skin

Cons:

Unethical business practices
Sneaky company
Poor customer service

I ordered a trial kit, paid for it, received it, and have been using it for a couple months. My skin looks great and I want to keep using it. However, Proactiv has charged my account $19.95 three times and shipped two kits (a third might be on its way). I assumed auto ship was on, called customer service to remove it, and had a terrible experience with their customer service. The woman (Bonnie?) gave me attitude and I ended up totally cancelling my account/membership. The company snuck in some sort of extra charges or extra shipments of the product that I did not authorize or order. Although the product worked very well and I wanted to continue using it, this experience has totally made me want to disassociate myself from the company. I will not be recreating the account and I will spread the word about their poor business practices. I guess they needed my extra money to pay their irrelevant celebrities to lie about using Proactiv.

Pros:

Worked great when I first got it. My skin felt very soft after using it.

Cons:

I've used it for a long time and it has stopped working. I also think the cleanser is too abrasive, especially when I'm having breakouts.

I've stopped used Proactive and I've started using the Regimen.

Pros:

makes skin softer
no bad smell
give a healthy glow
gets rid of blackheads
smaller pores

Cons:

burning sensation after use
can make fair acne worse
pricey
redder skins
irritating to fair skins induviduals

I bought proactive 5 months ago. Been using it as directed. It seemed like it was working pretty well in the beging. I found that I had fewer and fewer blackheads. My pores were tightning and I had fewer breakouts. About 3.5 months into using this product my breakout hasn't stopped. Everyday I have 3-4 new zits on my face. My face is redder and dryed out and flaky. My advice be warry of this product. I Have scene great results with some other people I know and others like me worse results. It really is an "iffy" product. It's not cheap unless you purchase through credit card by mail. If you purchases it derect you will be paying more.

Pros:

It can really clear up acne. My thanks to the makers of proactive and making it available to the public. It dries up my cystic acne.

Cons:

I agree with some reviewers, this product can dry your skin. My skin is so dry and thin.

Ive been in battle with my acne since puberty todate (I'm 37yrs old, asian). It's been very costly having it maintained thru dermatologist. My point is, it's still better to go to dermatologist, have your skin analyze. This way, it will take care of your overall skin health. Not just acne but skin's moisture and elasticity. This is very important for women my age.

Pros:

Skin condition improved in a week and acne seemed to clear up a bit. Effective but over-drying cleanser. Toner's good but doesn't last. Repair lotion is cooling but drys up the skin too much that causes excessive peelings

Cons:

-Celebrity endorsed product
-Pricey

This product is probably more suitable for individuals with light-moderate acne, non-sensitive skin and happy to pay a bit more. Similar benzoyl peroxide-based products can be easily purchase from pharmacies and on-line stores.

Pros:

-gentle exfoliating beads (you must be EXTREMELY light handed though)
-skin brightening
-noticably minimized pores after about 2-3 weeks
- i used to have disgustingly oily skin all over and now it's mostly in my "T - zone" and is still significantly less oily
- easy 1, 2, and 3 steps
- i still have acne but it's mostly scarring and usually have no more than 5 pimples at a time.

Cons:

-bad customer service
-scented (and not very nicely scented)
-extremely drying (my face flakes when not moisturized thoroughly)
-takes some time to complete
-if you have newly popped pimples the toner will sting a bit.
-takes a long time to see results.
- expensive

About 6 months ago my skin hit rock bottom and so did my confidence. I had new pimples on my face everyday (whiteheads and painful cystic acne as well). I honestly went through about 15 different brands of different cleansers/spot treatments/moisturizers in 2012. some were more expensive and some weren't but none of them worked. I tried drinking only water for months and eating healthy, tried natural AND more chemically products but never saw results. I first tried Proactiv when i was 15 and it didnt do much for my acne and was very expensive and customer service is so frustrating to deal with, i too had the same problem with them sending me 3 packages and having a hard time to cancel. But I decided to give it just one more try (im now about to be 20) since I couldn't think of anything else to do and i'm so happy I did. I get it off Amazon though so i dont deal with the company. Proactiv has started working for me this time around however its a slow process and i didnt see results until after a month. I was scared about using exfoliating beads on my face but you just have to be extremely careful to not pop any pimples on accident. I also use a LOT of the treatment lotion and the refining mask works well (i put a lot on every night) because i found that the mint mask i used to use works better on my cystic acne blemishes and is too harsh for clusters of whites heads (it'll harden and i have to scrape it off = popped pimples). My skin gets flaky sometimes but i'd rather deal with that then cry everytime i go out without make up on because i feel like people are staring at me. My acne made me so self conscious i didn't go to college for 2 semesters and dreaded going to work and this was the last attempt before going on Accutane. I'd say its worth a shot even though its expensive and takes a long time to do in the morning/night. But if you're acne is as severe as mine was then at this point the cost or effort doesn't matter i'll do anything.
