Pros:

Proactiv works okay with my skin. Clear my face and keep it clear.

Cons:

The first 2 weeks was horrible, my skin was very dry and irritated. It too expensive and doesn't work well. Once you stop using proactiv you'll break out again.

Cost way too much to continue buying. The product works but doesn't work that well. It could be better.

Pros:

Worked for about 1.5 years
could see difference in 1 week worth of use
it was consistent

Cons:

drying
peeling
stopped working after 1.5 years
inflamed white heads on chin and cheeks

At age 17, I was still on antibiotics for back acne (figured sports was the cause). I never broke out on my face but had little bumps on my forehead and upper cheeks. The dermatologist gave me a topical prescription (can't remember, long time ago) and told me to clean my face with a light cleanser such as cetaphil. The cetaphil cleanser barely removed any make-up and left a residue on skin. It wasn't really helping the bumps. I saw the proactiv commercial and decided to try it and my friend loved it. After the first week, it was very drying but cleared up the bumps. I think within a month or two my skin was pretty much clear besides a few red marks from the product bringing a some pimples out. It worked great through my senior year and my first half year at college. Around the end of my freshman year, I started to get cystic acne on my chin. I thought maybe it might've been from hormonal medication. I stopped the medication and went to the dermatologist. The derm told me that proactiv was too harsh for my skin. He gave me antibiotics and told me to use a gentle cleanser. I tried Cerave with tretonin topical cream. It took a year to work and I broke out after make-up applications. (Skin sensitivity?) Try Proactiv again because I missed being completely clear. First few days my skin felt great; I was still breaking out while old ones healed which I was expecting for the first few weeks. My chin started getting bumps. After three and half weeks my chin broke out in full cystic acne that was painful. It started to spread to my cheeks. (I was only getting one or two pimples on Cerave.) After I stopped Proactiv and switched to Clean and Clear gentle antibacterial foaming wash, no new pimples and the old infected ones are trying to heal. My mom only uses Dove soap, my sister Clean and Clear, my boyfriend Dial, my girlfriend shampoo. (They have very little skin problems) Maybe I was doing too much and irritating my skin

Pros:

Clears acne/pimples
Refreshing

Cons:

Only lasts for a little while.

This product is known for being advertised the most. I'm sure no one have ever not seen this item on TV. We see celebrities on Tv using this item but we should all have this is mind: They are only actors and they get paid to act upon this "wonderful" item. We are getting too brainwashed my this item. This item does not work, it does only for a little while. It's not worth paying so much for this item.

Pros:

-cleared up my acne for 2 years

Cons:

-stopped working after 2 years
-skin adjusted to formula
-bleaches towels

I have sworn by this product for the last 2 years. I fell in love with it because within the first few weeks it seemed to clear up all of my acne. I didn't experience any irritation or dryness...I have moderate acne on my chin and jawline and nothing I tried would clear it up.. but Proactiv really seemed to work and all of my horrid acne problems seemed like they were finally fixed and I could go on living life. Flash forward 2 years, I started breaking out again, this time bad, especially around the chin area. It seems like my face has almost grown resistant to the Proactiv's BP formula. The worst part is, I have become so attached to this formula that I can't stop using it... even though it doesn't seem to be helping with my acne at all anymore. It is just a comfort thing that I have to do in the morning and at night... the three steps. So that's about it, it worked wonders for a couple years then fizzled out... now I'm stuck addicted to the routine of the 3 steps and I'm worried about using other BP products since my acne seems to be fighting the BP in Proactiv. I would recommend it for people looking for a quick fix for awhile... but definitely not a way to clear up your face forever like I was once fooled into believing :(

Pros:

The scrubbers exfoliate your skin well, the toner makes your face feel clean and refreshed

Cons:

Bleaches towels, the "club" sucks and continues to bill you, stopped working after awhile

I have used proactiv on and off for about 5 years. It worked really well at first then I shopped around looking for a cheaper alternative. I started reusing it again about 6 months and my face keeps going in these cycles of being clear and then breaking out again.

Pros:

Proactive overall is a good product. It did absolutly nothing the first week, but by the second week, my acne had improved greatly, and I only had minimal blemishes.

Cons:

Do not stop useing!!! If you become inconsistent, you break out terribly. I stoped for one week, and I got HUGE blemishes on my chin and fore head.

Its a good product, but pricey. And once you start, you Really can't stop.

Pros:

It did clear up my acne... at first.

Cons:

After the first few months, it's like I wasn't even using anything.

When I first started, it cleared up my acne and I felt like doing a Proactiv commercial to let everyone know how great it works. After over a year of using, I finally found something else. After about three months of using it, I noticed that I kept getting more and more pimples. Soon, I noticed that I had little underground zits all over my chin and nose. I freaked out because my skin never looked like that. I kept with it, thinking it would clear up and it just didn't change. My acne WAS light.. Now it's moderate. Thanks Proactiv. -It was 49.95 for every two months.

Pros:

It worked okay for about 3 days even though I used the product for almost 2 months.

Cons:

After trying many acne products, I figured I would try Proactiv. To my disapointment, the product made my acne worse. I got a couple more pimples and my face became extremely dry and red.

I would not suggest the product to anyone who is looking for a treatment to their acne. I was not impressed with the product and after almost 2 months of using it, I discontinued using it.

Pros:

-simple enough to use
-prompt shipping
-the refining mask works well

Cons:

The cleanser dried out my skin and made my face quite oily. The toner irritated my skin the repairing lotion clogged my pores.

not for people with sensitive skin. Don't use if you already have dry skin. The refining mask works well with evening out my oils and shrinking down red bumps.
