Pros:

Because of the before and after photos i found something much better

Cons:

I had accidentally gotten proactive into an open pimple that I had squeezed an hour before and it was awful. So I hoped that proactive may help in some way, it was even worse. My skin got so dry and flakey I didn't leave the house for days. It was my fault thinking that the new proactive would make a different when the drug is exactly the same as old proactive and every other acne treatment I have tried. My sister was a before and after photo for max clarity and her acne went away, but they don

I only used pro active and did not use anything else, the bottom line is it's just to strong for my skin. The good news is I am using a natural acne treatment that is becoming really popular called LEROSETT and there is no burning and much of my acne is finally gone. The bad news is my sisters acne has come back since she stopped the antibiotics and the max clarity, in think the new natural acne product will work for her like it did for me. Diane

Pros:

-Clears acne
-Doesn't dry your face too much
-Not harsh
-Makes skin smooth

Cons:

-Kind of expensive

I really think that this product does work, you just need to give it time and use it consistently, as well as how they say to. I recommend using the Refining Mask as well. I used to break out about every two days and now I barley breakout at all. I am amazed at how clear my skin is already. I love it.

Pros:

WHEW! ACNE JUST GOT LOST THE FIRST WEEK. I THOUGHT MAYBE ITS A MIRACLE. HMMM

Cons:

AYEEE! MY SKIN IS SO DRY, AND SENSITIVE. THIS IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. AND WITH DRY SKIN COMES ITCHY UNCONFORTABLE SKIN. THE ODOR TO THE STEPS IS NOT VERY PLEASNT, AND ONCE YOU APPLY IT YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD SOON FADE BUT WHEW WEE ITS STINKY. I DON'T LIKE THAT THE PEOPLE AT THE COMPANY HAVE MY CC# AND FROM THE SOUND OF OTHER REVIEWS IT MIGHT BE A CHALLANGE TO REVERSE AN UNWANTED REORDER! WE WILL SEE LET THE FIGHT BEGIN!

I HAVE DECIDED SINCE IT SEEMS TO WORK TO TRY TO CREATE MY OWN TREATMENT PLAN AND NOT ALWAYS FOLLOW THE STEPS SINCE STEP ONE FEELS LIKE SANDPAPER IN A BOTTLE. ONCE A DAY OR EVERY OTHER DAY HAS SEEMED TO ME GOOD FOR ME. I LOVE THE OIL CONTROL CREAM. WHEN YOU'VE BEEN AT WORK ALL DAY YOUR FACE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE AN OIL SLICK. I HAVE USED OTHER PRODUCTS THAT WERE MUCH CHEAPER. PANOXYL THAT IS OTC SEEMS TO BE HARD TO BEAT. IT HAS BENZOL PEROXIDE AND WITHIN 1 WK YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME RESULTS AND THEY LAST LONGER. AFTER THIS FIRST WEEK OF USE I AM STILL ON THE FENCE. I HOPE THAT IT WORKS FOR OTHERS WHO SEEK CLEAR BEAUTIFUL SKIN. JUST KNOW THAT YOUR SKIN WILL BE SO DRY AND ITCHY.

Pros:

- Prevents Pimples
- Repairing lotion leaves skin smooth
- Easy!

Cons:

- Doesn't work for everyone
- When first used, Skin easily becomes excessively dry. Skin needs time to get used to it
- Not a miracle fix. You have to work on other things too.

Throughout my teens i had the occasional breakout here and there, but when pregnant with my baby my acne became so bad, it depressed me so much i just wanted to have the baby and get it over with. Unluckily when i had my baby, the acne didn't clear up. I then started to use proactiv, i could see results in the first week - i was so happy! I find that it isn't a miracle cure, and doesnt clear up all acne. To fully clear up my acne i had to change my lifestyle! I now eat healthy, exercise and that is what REALLY helped clear up my acne, in combination with Proactiv.

Pros:

Sorta Gets rid of acne- but destroys your skin!

Cons:

horridly harsh, drying, redness-producing, not custom for your skin, and HAS BEEN PROVEN TO (POSSIBLEY PERMANENTLY) DE-SENSITIZE SKIN!

While this product clears your skin pretty well,my combination skin was horribly dry ( all over red) and I started breaking out on my cheeks which never happened (only my T-zone).I used for a yr and then tried clinque, Acne-Free products, Nuetrogena, clarisil and others. I went to the CHANEL counter days ago &bought nail polish. I always ask for samles ( who doesnt?!) and she showed me their skin care line. I have fairly severe acne being 13. She told me it looked like i had combination skin. I told her the clinque system wasnt working and her first words were -"oh well at least tell me you didn't try Pro Activ!" When i responded that i did,she continued to tell me that 90% of the people that come to CHANEL for skincare tried pro activ. She then told me how at a skincare seminar for chanel, they told her its been proven to actually de-sensitize your skin ( also read this online today!). Possibly permanently too! I've been on it for just 3 days and already notice softer, less red, less dry skin and smaller acne ( & starting to go away) When I went, she took out little jars and filled with toner,1 with cleanser,1 with cream for the dry parts of my face,1 for the oily parts, a mask & an exfoliater. She told me the first week to stick to cleanser and toner. yesterday I broke the rules and tried to mask that supposedly 'would make your skin glow' and boy did it. My skin is sooooo much softer- and after only 3 days!! I tried the cream and It seemed too oily for my T zone ( the gel cream) but it might work for someone else and I'll try it again in a week or 2. Go ask your local counter to try it. If they say no ( which i doubt they will) say a friend told you they gave samples and your skins bad enough you are willing to try invest in their products if they work.Every product is $40+ but the samles ( all under or about an oz. full) will last me a week to try them. +the skincare line will last you at least 5 months. $90-$200 skincare but a good investment!! good luck

Pros:

After a few weeks it will work....for a while

Cons:

Eventually it stops working and becomes very irritating to the skin, B.P., the active ingredient, is very harsh and addictive to the skin, which causes worse breakouts (withdrawals) when you quit using it.

My daughter began using this line several years ago and found that after a few weeks her skin finally began clearing up. It worked beautifully for about two years, until she began reacting to it--she started not only breaking out again, but the product also began burning her skin, leaving her very red and irritated (and broken out). We have met others who had the same experience. I truly believe that this company's greatest strength is it's marketing department--they must spend far more for celebrity endorsements and mass advertising than they do on developing their product into a truly safe and effective long-term solution to acne. If your experience is like ours, give Mychelle a try--it is very gentle, non-toxic, and far more effective long term.

Pros:

Easy to Use

Cons:

Didn't work
Dried Out Skin
Caused severe redness and pain like a sunburn

I would not recommend this product to anyone. I had previously used products with Benzoyl Peroxide and after using Proactiv, can no longer do so due to how sensitive my face became to the ingredient. My face became red all over and hurt extremely bad much like a sunburn. I didn't really notice my acne getting any better and discontinued use of the product because the pain was not worth it for the lack of results. Murad, on the other hand, worked miracles! Proactiv is overrated!

Pros:

I guess a pro for the company is that you become addicted to it..

Cons:

But the addiction isnt a good thing, it doesnt work!
It made my skin very dry and it was peeling somewhat for a period of time.

I, unfortunately, was one of the people who used Proactiv for a long time, and didnt realize it wasnt helping at all. All along I was expecting it to work well like it is advertised to, but it only worked for a month or so, and then made my skin worse. It leaves certain spots on your face extremely dry, and overworked, and that was the worst part about it!
