Pros:

Sort of got rid of my acne.
Dried up zits.

Cons:

Expensive.
Doesn't really work, and you have to keep buying it.

Maybe Proactiv works for other people, but it did not work for me. The first few days of using this product, my skin did start to clear up a little bit, but after that it remained exactly the same. I used it for a few months and it did pretty much nothing to my skin. However, Proactiv did work for a few of my friends. So it pretty much depends on your skin. If you have money and don't mind buying this product all the time, then it's worth a try because I know people who actually love this product. Maybe it will work for you.

Pros:

works really well for a while
easy to buy

Cons:

skin addictive
BENZOYL PEROXIDE.
pricey
doesn't help in the long run

The company making this product is only interested in your money. I hate companies like that and really don't like to support them. But I got Proactiv for my 15th bday and started using it. I always had a few problem zits here and there consistently on my face, but was mostly clear. Used it until I was 17 (2 years) because it got too expensive to keep up. So I switched to Cetaphil (a gentle cleanser). HORRIBLE reaction. My face broke out and hasn't recovered since. I am now 20. So I have had moderate acne for 3 years now. There really is nothing that has helped since. I tried going back on Proactiv again for 3 months but it just made it worse. So, thats my story, Please, STAY away from proactiv. Just stay away from BP altogether. It is unnatural and harms the skin. Honestly.

Pros:

Kept my skin clear for a long time.

Cons:

Drying. Irritating. Renewing cleanser too harsh. Dyes clothes and sheets. Smells bad.

I used this product all throughout high school and I had perfect skin, but I also used it preemptively because I didn't really have acne to begin with. It has cleared my face, but also made it worse. I feel like maybe I developed a tolerance to benzoyl peroxide. It dried out my face and made me look ashy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. BOTTOM LINE: Too expensive and harsh. You can get the same products at the store 2.5% BP, a toner, and BP lotion for probably a fraction of the cost if you think it works for you.

Pros:

Gentle formula
Cheaper than prescription creams
Aids clearing up acne

Cons:

Nothing new
Skin feels smoother

If you're planning to use such a basic 3-step, you might as well go to your nearest drugstore. Cleanse, tone, moisturize... The ingredients are nothing new, and it's a bit overpriced for what's inside. I didn't see any results other than smoother skin, which I can thank only the moisturizer for. When I went to my dermatologist, they recommded I use Neutrogena products instead.

Cons:

smelly, redness, alot of steps, pricey

uses bad ingredients such as fragrance, starch, & much more i bet. didnt really help me at all. & i hate how many advertisments are on tv its so annyoing. im suprised it says it helps acne when there are bad ingredients in it, if all the bad ingredients were gone i would use it. & the face cleanser feels like i always have to use more cause it feels like theres none on my face when i put it on. im going to try ProNexin now : )

Pros:

Leaves skin feeling soft and clean directly after use.

Cons:

Expensive and works for very few skin types. Time consuming. I used it, religiously, for about a month and a half, and I did not see any improvement.

It may work for those with the acne problem it is designed for, but it's not for everyone.

Pros:

Reduces appearance of pores
Smooths and softens skin
Cleared acne

Cons:

Extremely drying - at first
Somewhat costly

The day I turned 28, I developed moderate-severe acne seemingly out of nowhere. Prior to this, birth control pills, cetaphil soap and cetaphil moisturizer had kept my skin almost completely clear (maybe one or two pimples right before my period). Suffice it to say, I was horrified when I started to wake up every morning with 3-4 new pimples. When I went home to visit family for Thanksgiving, I started to use my Mom's Proactive and ordered some for myself. After three days of using it generously day and night, my face looked like it had first degree burns. It was bright red, inflamed, dry/flaky, and STILL broken out. It hurt so bad that I stopped using it all together for a week and then resumed using it once a day when my face had settled down, and after another week increased to twice a day. Although, it no longer hurt, my face was still red and a bit dry for the first couple weeks, but I applied cetaphil moisturizer after the 3-step system and continued using it. I kept at it for a few more weeks, but continued to break out. Around week 5, it even looked like my breakouts were actually getting worse. I was losing hope, but had read on the website that it takes some people 6-8 weeks to see a difference. Sure enough, the first day of the 6th week, I woke up for the first time without any new pimples. By the end of the week, everything started to clear up and now I am in my 7th week and completely pimple free. So, while I have to agree with all the other reviewers that said Proactive left their skin irritated, inflamed, and still broken out, I have to argue that perhaps they simply need to ease into the system a bit more and exercise patience. That said, the system is not going to work for everyone, but if you are going to give it a go, really give it the full 6-8 weeks to work. Best of luck everyone!

Pros:

-Skin Feels Great
-Clears Acne

Cons:

Price

I love this stuff! But it doesn't fit in my budget. I'm on and off of it occasionally, but whenever I use it..it surely works. When I first started, my acne cleared up in a few weeks. If you can afford it,buy it!
