Pros:

It works like it says it does
smooth skin
rosey glow
little to no bumps or pimples

Cons:

slighlty drying
stinging
somewhat irritating

Ive been using proActiv for about 4 weeks now and i have seen Drastic results. It does work but you have to use i correctly..Most people dont follow the directions which clearly state...Begin using system twice a day and the repairing lotion once at night for the first week so that your skin becomes accustomed to it...if you just slather it on its extremely irritating and drying..follow the directions it helps..IMPORTANT..stick to the therapy you will get a breakout 2weeks into using the product its just proactiv cleansing your pores dont give up on it it Really does work just follow instructions and dont overdo take it slow and you will see results i promise you..ppl complain about it because the use to much and are impatient your skin needs to be cared for Proactiv works!!

Pros:

Everything!

Cons:

None!

I have used Proactiv for several years now, I just recently switched to a cheaper over the counter face wash to try and save money, and I completely regret it. Even after less than a month, I started breaking out. Proactiv is worth the price. I bought some more today and already after one wash my face feels wonderful again. I would recommend this to anyone, I will never use anything else ever again!

Pros:

Proactive works great (if you use all three products every day). It only stings a little bit when you put on the toner. (I decided that meant it was 'working'.)

Cons:

Proactiv is a little, um, labor-intensive. I did it once a day. (Who has time?) I also didn't need the 'automatic' membership, the 'automatic' charge to my credit card, and the 'automatic' shipment every other month.

Use it if you have mild to moderate acne, rich parents, and too much time on your hands.

Pros:

My Freshman year in high school, around Christmans time, my face exploded. I had severe acne on the sides of my face. I got proactive and I was completely clear for about a year.

Cons:

Summer of my sophomore year I started breaking out a little bit again. I must have started becoming immune to it. from then on I always had a few zits. So I stoped using proactive and not my face is 10 times worse than it was when i never used it.

Works for a little while but if you stop using it your live will be hell.

Pros:

Smells great.
Leaves skin feeling soft.
Easy to use, not time consuming.

Cons:

Does not work.
Too expensive.

I have a lot more pimples when NOT using it but overall it does not clear up anything or help my appearance. I am not satisfied with this product at all. I have been using Proactiv for a while now thinking nothing else would help but I've recently read great reviews on Mary Kay's Acne Treatment Gel and I'm going to try that out and STOP using Proactiv.

Pros:

Makes my skin soft and feel clean. Worked for the first couple years using it.

Cons:

Does not work any longer after years of using. Skin breaks out more then ever now and have been useing proactiv for over 5 years. Does not stop new break outs and does not reduce how often break outs happen.

Was good in the begining, but now does not work any longer.

I Had to Ice My Face Down
I pretty much have no acne but I wanted to try something new. I put this on my face and now I look like I have doll circle blush on my cheeks. I had to ice it down cuz it burned. If you recieved this as a gift like I did, regift it to someone you hate.

Old to the New
I started using the old proactiv a couple of years ago. It was okay, I mean but overall it dried my skin out alot so I would often moisturize more and it would not be good since my skin is combination and oily so usually where there were dry patches, the whole part of the skin next to it would be oily, so that didn't really help. It also dried my skin out to the point where there were no pimples, yes, but through this it made my skin darker than it used to be, even the spots appeared darker. So I also ordered the new proactiv+ a couple of months ago in hopes for a newer and updated product and it caused me more breakouts and redness. So all in all proactv with me is like really dry, dark patchy skin or breakout skin with no significant healing of scars.

IT WORKS...so far
I am 14 and have been getting pretty bad clusters of weird, not-whitehead, not-blackhead acne on my cheeks. And a lot of whiteheads on my chin and upper lip. My forehead gets really bad around my period. I never had any acne until the beginning of this year. I started using Proactiv almost two weeks ago and have already been seeing MAJOR improvements on my forehead and cheeks. Not so much my chin, probably because that's where my stubborn hormonal pimples are. But I am very pleased with the results I have been getting. I wake up to less and less redness everyday. I don't even wear powder on my face anymore. All of the bumps are gone and whenever I wash my face, it feels extremely smooth. I was worried about trying it because of the reviews, but I guess it's just based on your skin. I have very oily skin, especially on and near my nose. Because of this, I normally don't have to deal with dry skin side effects. I recommend that if you have similar skin to mine, try it. The results won't be overnight, obviously. But, with the results I've been getting, I see clear skin in my future. (:

Overly drying product, business model is a total scam
The product itself is far too drying, which is detrimental to both dry skin (my type) and perhaps even more harmful to oily/acne prone skin, as dehydration is often the underlying issue in these skin types. I ordered a 30 day kit just to try the product, HOWEVER, proactiv then surreptitiously enrolls you in a 3 month, 3 payment installment of proactiv entirely without your consent or knowledge. To make matters worse, once canceling, they continue to charge and ship the unwanted product to you until the cancellation has been processed, which takes 4-6 weeks. Yes, you read that correctly. You are still on the line for the product shipments you never ordered or wanted 4-6 weeks after cancellation. Perhaps proactive as a company should work to improve their product instead of trying to propagate sales and offload the product through such invasive and corrupt schemes.
