Pros:

Nice customer service

Cons:

Didnt work, and actually made skin worse

Didnt work, didnt like how you are automatically billed and they are not up front about it. I actually ordered the second month, and then shortly received another box, as it was automatically shipped, which i didnt know. They were not able to cancel the other order of course. If it worked it would of been one thing, but not working is another.

Pros:

attractive price
exfoliating tingles so it appears to work

Cons:

eyes got swollen
skin became red and irritated
increase in breakouts on jawline and neck
moisturizer smells bad and doesn't hydrate

My face was getting much better with PCP's prescription of : Tretinoin. I was getting compliments about my face clearing up. But then I saw the tv advertisement on Murad making the skin look shiny, with the whole kit which i use Cellex-C brands (very expensive but works fabulous). I was tempted to buy something more affordable that has great results. Was I wrong. Even though I kept all the products away from my eyes, the first night i work up in fear that my eyelids were swollen. you can just feel it. I thought i would just keep using it because my skin had to get use to it - well my colleagues noticed my face and eyes swollen and I started to get new pimples/scars below my jawline. NO WAY! I I have decided to stop using it and return it asap!!! I am taking two days off - and then returning to my prescribed medication (tretinoin) and expensive Cellex-C (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) that actually works - no matter the price!!

Pros:

Good value.

Cons:

Makes you BREAK OUT.
Does not clear skin.
Drying.

Don't try this product. I ignored the bad reviews because, of course, I was desperate, and I thought, how could this be so popular if it didn't work for some people? I bought the started kit and used the program faithfully. I could only last three weeks. It made me break out VERY badly. Amazing-- because I was already breaking out pretty badly before. Normally I have more cystic acne, but this made the cysts worse and gave me "normal" acne all over my face. It does not even make sense that this would be a "purge" because the cleanser I have been using for the past few years is also salicylic-acid based. I think breakouts might come from the treatment gel which has glycolic acid. Glycolic acid can "spread" breakouts. I recommend saving your face four weeks of misery. Even the other products are totally worthless-- the moisturizer feels dry. The spot treatment is crap.

Pros:

*Great moisturizer
*feels good
*doesn't bleach clothing and pillowcases.

Cons:

*Brought me from mild acne with occasional cysts (maybe a few a month) to moderately severe acne all over my chin and jawline.
*Lots of scarring.
*Tons of clogged pores/whiteheads that turned into cysts!
*Doesn't clear acne.
*EXPENSIVE.
*They seem to have only refunded 1 of my orders instead of 2 (I'm still looking into this matter though)

This kit is expensive and ruined my skin. Thanks Dr. Murad! This seemed great for a few days, I guess until the bacteria in my skin started multiplying. Dan's right, you really need the BP to keep skin clear, (even if it does bleach everything!) I started getting more and more cysts that just wouldn't clear. I used the mask and everything else in the kit.. I read in their catologue that buying the poor refining cleanser and the mask would give me a boost (another $60), but I just kept getting worse! Honestly, I have never really looked like I had acne, (easily hidden with makeup, 1 cyst might show) now I look awful! I have well over thirty new scars. My confidence seriously plummeted. I stayed with it for over a month, because they said the initial breakout would subside, but it just never did :( I went to the derm. to get some stronger meds to recover, but the antibiotics made me sick, and the topical were ineffective and really irritating. So I have reluctantly come crawling back to Proactiv. I never should have quit. It never made my skin flawless, but it was certainly better than it is now! I've been using it for a few weeks now. All the small bumps are gone from my forehead! Nose, cheeks, and chin are clear too! YAY! Just waiting for my jawline to clear up. It actually looks better too. I'm hoping some Alpha Hydrox will help. I can already tell some of the marks are fading and the cysts have reduced to normal sized pimples. If you are already using BP on your skin, I would not quit and try this product. If you only use salicylic acid, you would probably be fine. Be careful with your skin! I quit using the kit in May and now its July and I'm still trying to reverse the damage.

Pros:

None!!

Cons:

Everything!!

This is the worst treatment i have ever used. I have been using this treatment for almost 3 months, for the first couple of weeks my skin cleared up, but then... i started breaking out like crazy, all over my face, and my skin started flaking (peeling off) the gel burned and made my skin extremely dry, itchy and sore, the moisturiser is not hydrating, i have stopped using murad and hopethat my skin will recover it is dull, dry and still very itchy!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! If you are like me and still buy these product after reading these terrible products DON'T it will ruin your skin!!! I guess the search for a wonder acne treatment continues!!....because this most definately is not!

RUINED MY LIFE
This Product completely ruined my life. I had clear skin in 7th grade, I just had small bumps and convinced my mom to get me this stupid treatment because i thought i had bad acne. I was so wrong. I used this product for weeks, and the "purging" process occured.... ACNE EVERYWHERE. I told myself it would be gone soon it was just "purging".... no.... I had developed cystic acne and spent over 500 dollars on treatment for my face. I am 20 years old now, a sophomore in college, and I am still recovering from this product. Please Please Please do not buy this product.

Pros:

none

Cons:

very expensive and doesn't work any better than whats at your local store for much less

Bottom line its $37.93 for 2% salicylic acid based acne face wash. You get some witch hazel astringent, some sulfur based acne cream and some moisturizer. They send you the supplies every 2 months and charge your about $38 every month which is rather dishonest so each little box of supplies actually costs $75.86. If you spent that much at your local store on Neutrogena products you would be able to buy 9 of Neutrogena tubes of face wash which are about between $6.50-8.00 for about 4-5 ounces which should easily last almost a year. If you want which hazel you can buy a large liter sized bottle for under 10 dollars and that will last a long time. Bottom line is Murad is about making lots of money and keeping you on their monthly charges. I couldn't even find out on their website what the active ingredient was because they don't want you to know its something you can buy cheaper at the store they want to believe they invented some breakthrough system. There are only two major systems out there on the market over the counter either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide based, other than that see your doctor for some Rx products which are probably way better and probably cheaper then Murad.
