Pros:

Cleanser makes skin feel clean.

Cons:

Dryness,redness,swolen allergy to product

I myself used proactiv for years and noticed it wasn't helping anymore. So i decided to try Murad after reading about it i thought it might be a good investment. My acne is moderate soemtimes severe depending on the time of month. I used it for 2 days and on the 3rd day i woke up to find my face extremly swolen my eye almost swolen shut and my face red and bumpy. I am returning this and i think they should refund the shipping because its a bogus products. Would not recommend i am now goign to try the acne line from Beauti Control i have been told it works well.

Pros:

the lotion is soothing to your skin

Cons:

you break out worse than when you started, worse than your entire life

i saw the infomercials on t.v., and they were describing all of the symptoms that i had with my skin. i decided to order it thinking my skin would clear up, but i was wrong. i was so excited to get it in the mail especially since they said my face would clear up in like a month, but it didn't work. my face is now worse than it has ever been in my entire life. people invite me places but i'm too embarrassed to go anywhere with my skin looking like this. i stopped using it, and almost instantly my skin started to clear up. this stuff does not work! you just get bigger and more pimples than you've ever had in your life, and in places you've never broke out before. i'm really depressed because of my skin and how it currently looks. this product has ruined my life, and i'm not over exaggerating.

Pros:

Magic ingredient: salicilic acid, smooth dry skin.

Cons:

A little bit expensive.

I have oily skin, but i keep it in control, i know how to take care of it. I use to use L'oreal Pure Zone, but i cannot find it anymore. I saw a comercial in the Glamour magazine, and when i saw the ingredients, salicilic acid, what was the base of the pure zone, i said this should work. And it does. My advice is, that the basic in oily skin care is the cosmetologic treatment. No matter how good is a product, it will get your acne worse if you are not going to a cosmetologist first. These products help to maintain your skin clear, but if you are using it on an inflamed skin, it will just get worse. I'm satisfyed with this product.

Pros:

The cleanser makes you feel really clean and the lotion goes on smooth.

Cons:

Breakouts, the exfoliating gel makes the skin feel kindof plastic andrritating.

I've been using this product for one month now and my face is at its worst. Before I was using ProActive and it was working just fine for me, but my sister got Murad to try. What a mistake. I have so many pimples now and it's so gross. It's so hard to cover it with makeup, because it looks so cakey and dry. My face hurt. I asked my sister and she checked w/ her estitician and she said that the breakout is normal and it will get better so continue to use it. I'll give it two more weeks. If I don't see an improvement, it's OUT. So for now it's a thumb down for me. :(

Pros:

*Calmed my skin
*Acne scars are diminishing
*Fewer and fewer breakouts

Cons:

*Smell of the acne gel is a little harsh but the lotion balances that out
*Expensive

So far I have been using this product for a week and my skin has never felt better. I tried everything from Proactive to antibiotics to diet and natural remedies and they either made my skin worse or didn't do anything. This was my last resort before trying a microdermabrasion and I don't think I will have to be doing that anymore! My face was filled with small little pimples everywhere mainly cheeks and forehead and cystic acne also that hurt. Right now I have none of that on my skin and it feels great! I will continue to use this product and hope for the best!

Pros:

Nothing at all!

Cons:

This product is not good for african-americans, not only did it break my face out even more with blackheads and whiteheads, it gave me facial hair! I hate this product! I had pretty smooth skin and just wanted something to prevent me from having acne

Down to the point, if you are an minority! DO not use, im being totally honest here! Its not going to prevent acne its just going to make them worse!

Pros:

Cleanser and lotion smell good; cleanser tingles and gives you a clean feeling.

Cons:

Made my acne WORSE THAN EVER! Never-ending "purging process". Hated putting exfoliating gel on my skin: thick and tacky... made my skin burn for least 10 minutes after putting it on.

I had mild acne prior to using this product. Being greedy and wanting perfect skin, I tried Murad. BIG MISTAKE! I did get some purging within several weeks but stuck it out in hopes it would get better. On the contrary, the purging got worse with continued use. My forehead is covered in blemishes that will not go away! My face is so tender and painful... I used to be able to feel comfortable going out in public without makeup. Not so anymore! Now, no amount of makeup can conceal the ugliness. This product may work for a minority, but there is no way I can recommend it.

Pros:

Easy-to-use packaging. Always promt and reliable with delivery of the product.

Cons:

Exfoliating gel is sticky and smells awful. Toner is also sticky and caused face to sting and burn. Spot treatment did not work. Quite expensive.

I've used Murad for a bit more than a year. It worked well enough at first (albeit I broke out initially), but has failed to do the job for about three months now. The only product I didn't mind was the cleansing gel, and even that doesn't work. I found the exfoliating gel disgusting, and the lotion made my skin greasy. It's also far too expensive, and the company sends unnecessary amounts (probably just so they can charge you). Consequently I have a major backstock. I think right now I have more acne than I started with, so yesterday I quit Murad and switched to Vichy Normaderm. We'll see how that goes.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Everything is bad about this product. I can't even think of 1 good thing to say!

It's horrible. I don't know how they are able to sell this product and claim that it works better than Proactiv! My mom bought this for me before my freshman year of college...as if that isn't stressful enough, my face broke out like never before. I have always had just a few breakouts, nothing major...but this made my face breakout like never before. Please don't buy this product. I stopped using Murad and my face began to recover, but it has never been the same since I used Murad. It has always been in worse condition and broken out more. So please, DO NOT BUY IT!

Pros:

Reduces inflamation of pimples the very next day
Makes skin feel smoother

Cons:

Slightly expensive

If you've tried Proactiv and it didn't work for you, I would definitely suggest giving Murad a try. I used Proactiv consistently for about a year, and saw absolutely no improvement. (In fact, I think Proactiv actually worsened my skin. Benzoyl Peroxide is an extremely strong ingredient and can actually aggravate the skin, causing you to get more breakouts). I then switched to Murad and saw a dramatic improvement in about 3 days! The exfoliating gel combined with the spot treatment really helps to reduce the inflamation of pimples and they are much smaller the next day. I think that each persons skin is different, so while some peoples skin may respond to Proactiv, the salicylic acid in Murad may be more suitable for others.
