DONT GET IT! i wish i would have read the reviews. i spent so much money on it. it may work for some, but only 28% that reviewed said it worked. My face got greasy and the purging never went away. I literally just had a meltdown because my acne had never been this bad and i am packing everything up and trying to get my money back right now. it made my face feel like i was sweating for hours and never washed my face. My acne was doing pretty good but i just wanted to clear it up so i decided to stop my prescription because i heard benzyl peroxide is damaging to the skin. But this is just horrific. PLease try something else and use this product as a last resort. Things at walmart work better than this.

If you have gotten clear with BP and want to try a BP free solution, please don't use this! After a rough spring with my skin I used Acne Free Severe kit for 3 months and was clear about 6 weeks into it (I have used BP on and off for 15 years with usual success). I was pretty clear but it was enhancing the fine lines on my 32 y.o. skin, so I thought I would give Murad complex a try for a long term maintenance solution, you know...no more stained clothes, Dermatologist created, high-end premium skincare products etc.... WAAAAAAAH!!!! What a mistake. Caused over 70 hard whiteheads (that have since erupted into full blown papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts) along my jaw line, just using it for 3.5 weeks. When I talked to their customer service to return it they questioned why I wasn't sticking with it for the full 4 weeks because she guaranteed if I kept using it I would be clear if I did...yeah ok in 4 days your product is going to clear 70 hard whiteheads and 10-15 full eruptions!!! I currently have over 15 active eruptions on each side of my jaw now, so alas.... Back to BP but the damage was done it's been over 5 weeks and my skin is still fighting to bounce back from the worst breakout I have had in years. Try to go BP free if you want but don't do it with Murad; PLEASE!

Pros:

It worked for a week.

Cons:

The 'purging' lasted over 6 weeks, and never got better. Left more blemishes on my face. My skin was smooth and now it is all bumpy with whiteheads that never existed.

It makes your skin work. Anything with a purging period that causes you to break out more is not worth it. Think about it, if your skin is going to break out MORE than before, and leave you with blemishes that will take MONTHS to clear, is it worth it?

Pros:

None. Product doesn't work.

Cons:

Did not like the product at all. It is very harsh and makes skin worse. There is no such thing as purging. Bacteria gets into the pores and you break out and this only happens if your pores are wide open and inviting bacteria in.

Proactiv works from the word go. It should be used wisely so dryness doesn't occur. As in use dime sized amount for everything. Don't use it liberally or drying/peeling will occur. Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that can combat the nasty bacteria. Murad doesn't work and is a waste of money and time.

The price of the product was decent.

Cons:

This product only made my skin break out worse in the begining. After break out so much the product tells you not to break the pimple but when I left the pimple alone, it only started scaring my face!! I have a lot of dark spots left! I

I dont recommend this product. I have other friend who tried it too and it never work either.

The face wash had a good fragrance

Cons:

Left permanent redness on my face.

made my skin super dry (even using tons of the lotion), worsened my breakouts significantly, caused breakouts in odd, previously (& post Murad) unaffected places like my ear & deep hairline

stupid stupid stupid!! I stuck with it because of "purging".. but after three weeks i'd had more than enough. Even if i put makeup on it looked HORRIBLE because my skin was soo broken out AND dry!! Proactiv had worked well and was cheaper!! I got back on it for a week and it calmed down considerably! (my skin was light/moderate when i started, moderate when i ended)

Cons:

Where should I begin? The uncomfortable burning and itching or the horrible breakouts that occur after you use it?

I've tried a lot of products for my cystic acne, lasers, antibiotics, proactiv, OTK products, etc. and this is by far the greatest disappointment of all. I used it for two weeks believing that perhaps the giant painful lesions that invaded my face worse than ever were just the so called "purging process". I called the company to confirm this and was told that I was probably allergic to it. Maybe it works great for some, but if you're allergic to it you won't find out until after you've wrecked your skin to the point that you don't want to leave the house. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
