Pros:

Effectively treats spots

Cons:

Dries out skin

Tried many spot treatments- this is by far the most effective for me. Dries out skin, but nothing a bit of moisturiser can't fix! :)

Pros:

Works well

Cons:

Really dries out your skin and makes it really red and itchy

Because it dries out your skin so quick you have to make sure you apply a lot of moisturiser. To be honest I found just washing my face when I woke up and before I went to bed with soap and water and using a flannel or wash cloth worked much better. My spots were gone within a few weeks and my skin wasn't red and itchy. Using quindoderm for a few weeks make my skin really uncomfortable and because I had to keep applying moisturiser made my skin even worse and I got more spots.

Pros:

Does the job nicely
Can see results the next day

Cons:

Leaves the skin dry
Stings a little after applying
Leaves redness after about two days of using

Gets rid of spots right away but I guess I need to keep using it fot about another week or two. Leaves the skin dry so I think its best to apply at night, go to bed and when you wake up put some oil free moisturizer. As others said apply to all the affected area (I just put it on my whole face cause I have spots on my chin, cheeks but close to the nose and nose aswell and my forehead.) I would recommend this to anyone having tried everything cause I find that those fancy ones don't work like Clean'n'Clear. Wash your face before applying but DON'T use soap. I found it only worsens spots as it has oils in it. I just splash some water on my whole face. One last thing: when you see some whiteheads DON'T pop them as it will leave a mark for about 2-3 days.

Pros:

Clears spots and acne very affordable.

Cons:

None to me

My skin is very sensitive so i use the cream thrice a weak to minimize the side effects. just wash face with facial wash for sensitive skin (johnsons) and apply at night and with a good moisturizer i am sorted. i have really tried lots of treatments but with this one...i am totally sorted out.

Pros:

- Clears up actual red spots
- Cheap
- No prescription
- No tablets!!
- Fast results

Cons:

- Smells so can't be left to soak in if you're going out somewhere.
- Have to put it on at night
- Dry skin (but that's a given with any acne medication?)
- Does nothing for scars

I've been using Quinoderm on and off for about a year now after my doctor reccomended it when I told him I had a fear of swallowing pills. As some background, I have light-moderate acne, which springs up on and off throughout the year dependent on weather, stress etc. Noticeable enough to cover the whole face and other areas of the body, but not extremely severe. I DO NOT have sensitive skin. If you do, I think there is a sensitive version of Quinoderm but I can't speak for that. After cleaning and using a scrub on my face I apply a thin layer ONCE a day (every evening) before bed, then leave it to soak in overnight. You cannot go out wearing it! It smells quite bad, and if you sweat it will drip down your face! Very unpleasant (as a warning though: It will gradually bleach covers over time so use an old pillow if wearing it to bed). I then use a scrub and moisturiser in the morning to wash it off. You HAVE to moisturise when using Quinoderm as you'll find your skin will dry out quickly. Apart from the smelliness and the fact you can only realistically put it on at night, I have found it works extremely well. Although people complain of redness I have not experienced this, in fact it reduces the redness on my face (may be due to the fact I do not have sensitive skin) and completely removes all blemishes after about 1 weeks consecutive use. However it does nothing with regards to acne scars; I have some on my cheeks from when I had worse acne when I was younger (for some reason I refused all treatments... silly child!!) so unfortunately although it gets rid of the spots and redness it can't make your skin completely smooth and soft! Overall I would reccomend it for an overall better visual appearance on your face. One more word of advice, apply it to the WHOLE area, do not just put it on individual spots as this WONT work. It needs to be spread about. It wont get acne out of your system but it will definitely i

Pros:

Cheap to buy, gets rid of spots

Cons:

Swelling, redness, dryness and itchiness

This cream was cheap to buy and could be bought from most places. When I first started using the cream I was pleasantly surprised as it did clear up my spots and other people noticed this too (HURRAH!). However, after about a week my face turned very dry, red and was INFURIATINGLY itchy. I'd wake up in the middle of the night scratching my face raw which left scratch marks. After a further week I woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and my face had swollen up (!). The cream did clear up my spots which is what I wanted it for, but to me personally the side effects were just too much. Redness, dryness and itchiness?... No thanks.

Pros:

It's cheap, no prescription needed even though contains antibiotics, effective, starts working relatively fast.

Cons:

Stings when applying, dries out your face, can leave your face very red and sore.

A few weeks ago my GP prescribed me some tablets for my spots. He also recommended quinoderm cream. I bought the cream, not realising the qunioderm 5 cream was available, this would have been perfect if I'd have known as I have quite sensitive skin. I started using the cream a few days before I started my tablets and found that even though it stung for a few minutes after applying it, it worked very well. It did dry my skin out though and made it a little red in areas and no amount of moisturiser would help this. Once I started taking the tablets, I found that the cream was less effective and the redness on my face was getting worse. Due to this, I only used it once rather than the suggested 2-3 times a day. My skin was still red after reducing the usage and so I stopped using it altogether and moisturised more often. However, a day later (Christmas eve), after not using the cream, I woke up one morning with a very sore and very bright red face. I put on some moisturiser but it just seemed to aggravate my skin more and so I washed it off. During the rest of the day, my skin became quite itchy and extremely red (it looked like I had been sunburnt quite badly!) I took some piriton to stop it itching which helped however the redness didn't go. That night I went to bed with my face covered in talcum powder as that soothed the soreness slightly. I woke up the next day (Christmas day) with my face still as bright red and sore. I took another prition and did nothing else to my face for the rest of the day. I woke up today (Boxing day) with my face less red and my skin completely dried out and even starting to crack! I have applied moisturiser which seems to help it slightly but I am just hoping it gets better now. Overall, I would recommend quinoderm but if it's your first time using it, buy the 5 cream and only use it once at first on a small section of your skin to see how it reacts - I don't want anyone else going through what I did - especially at Christmas!

Pros:

Well its cheap and otc which is 2 pros

Cons:

leaves skin dry but unless u dry up the skin u will never clear the acne

I have used almost everything over the years and nothing seems to touch it..i was using freederm before and it really makes your skin red. Moring and night i use Clearsil Ultra..not the face scrub and Quinoderm. I must say i have suffered acne now for 21 years and my new comibination i have seen a really amazing differance..give it a go..nothing to lose..the differnce is better than when i have isolaze last year at skin UK..That cost me 800 GBP but for under a tenner total the differnce is better.
