This Dermira drug trial failed but according to this article a company called Sol-Gel Technologies is developing two acne drugs..

I would look up acne keloidalis nuchae. It looks to be a form of that given the area being on the higher neck area. If you read up on it a little it says that having a short haircut can make it worse.

my dermatologist swears by the accutane as the best option. I would stay on accutane as long as your dermatologist says its okay to continue it. It's a drug with many potential side effects so keep it...

I also suggest accutane or bactrum. Don't wait to make a dermatologist appointment since they usually take weeks to get in from my experience.
