I have been suffering from dark spots (due to picking my face) since I was 11. Now I'm 15. Recently, I have been noticing that my face has been going lighter and lighter and now I have a skin tone that makes me look absolutely sick like a zombie...My skin tone has gone lighter, but the dark spots haven't moved at all..
I need a lot of advice to how I can get my skin tone to get a bit darker. Help me...
Here's my skincare routine:
- Papaya soap to cleanse
- St, Ives Apricot scrub to exfoliate,
- Salt water toner
- Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%
- Shea Butter and lemon essential oil to moisturize.

Hi there,

Could be the vitamin c or papaya helping to lighten.

Did you checkout the FAQ top of the hyperpigmentaiton sub, ... you either have PIE which is wounding post acne and takes a long time to go away or PIH which is discoloration often ethnic skin types get this. Picosure and or Q-switch laser is very effective at PIH, V-beam- vascularlaser can work for PIE. As far as at home stuff to try it's in the FAQ but try comfrey balm, and castor oil. Also Differin/Retin-a/tretinorin can be used nightly. Basic peels like glycolic and or salicylic can help. Otherwise laser is most likely needed as the pigment is deeper.
