Hey everyone! I™m pretty new to the website but I just wanted to get an opinion on how severe my acne scars are and what treatments would be best for me. I™ve been meaning to make an appointment with a dermatologist, but I figured this is a good step. They™ve been making me pretty self conscious so I want to take some steps to get rid of them. I™ve always had mild acne (nothing too extreme) but I have a decent amount of scarring from not taking great care of my face. I attached a bunch of different photos in different lighting.

I™m also not too sure if those red marks on my cheek are hyperpigmentation or if they are actual scars! In some lighting they just look like red marks, but in other lighting they look like actual scars. Any help and advice would be appreciated!

To me this does not look like scars but PIE or wounding post acne aka reds. The most effective thing is vascular laser like V-beam for this. But's it's expensive. There are other ideas in FAQ - top of the hyperpigmentation sub like castor oil, comfrey balm, retin-a/tertinorin/differin (OTC) using it nightly.

You can also do light peels like Glycolic for discoloration or TCA for texture. I see no fat loss or pitting, ... just some basic texture issues.

Lots of this resolves with time, ... healing can take a year for some.
