Would it be too much to use this as a facial cleanser if I already use Avon Retexturizing Pads 10% GA every other morning? I don't want to use TOO much GA.

I think it would be fine to use the GA cleanser on the days you dont use the Avon 10% GA. My skin is used glycolic acid so I think I would be okay using them both within the same day, but everyone is different. Try it and watch for signs of irritation.

I have been trying out the MaMa lotion, which has 10% mandelic and 10% malic acid for about a week now. I only use it every other evening to build up my tolerance (according to the instructions), and I don't seem to be getting any irritation. I do notice my pore seem cleaner in the morning when I wake up.

I'm wondering how effective could a cleanser with AHA be, since you only have it on your face for a few seconds before you rinse it off? Is it better to go with a lotion like MaMa? Or maybe GA peels? I am also considering the peels--I've heard it can do wonders for red marks.

I was using MaMa lotion too, every other evening. It didn't help much with my red marks. It just made my skin peel sooo much and left it dry and flakey. I switched to glycolic acid since then and I've had GREAT results!

I use alpha hydrox (which is similar to aqua glycolic) at night and I have seen really good results. The first week of using it caused some serious flaking, but after week 1 my skin has been looking amazing.

Hey fusion,

I'm so glad to hear Alpha Hydrox is working out for you. Are you using the souffle? I LOVE the souffle!!

So are you just using a GA wash or toner everyday? Which product are you using?

I'm using the 12% glycolic souffle and the Alpha Hydrox Sheer Silk moisturizer which is also an AHA.

So can you tell me what is your daily regimen? Do you use another SPF 30 moisturizer on to of that sheer silk moisturizer? And where do you guy the products?

Thanks!

I just ordered the Aqua Glycolic cleanser from Rite Aid and my dad is going to pick it up tommorow since I'll be at the beach for a couple of days. I heard the cleanser can make you sensitve to sunlight so I don't mind waiting a couple days since I'll be in the sun most of the day. I can't wait to start using it when I get back.

I use mostly Alpha Hydrox products. Here is my regimen:

Morning:

Alpha Hydrox Foaming Face Wash

Alpha Hydrox 12% Glycolic Souffle

Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera Gel

Alpha Hydrox Sheer Silk Moisturizer SPF 15

Everyday Minerals Makeup

Evening:

Alpha Hydox Foaming Face Wash

Alpha Hydrox 12% Glycolic Souffle

2% Salicylic Acid Gel

Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel

This is the regimen that cleared me up and is keeping me clear. Go to my log for more details. The link is in my signature 🙂

I was using this cleanser also but unfortunately the severe peeling was too much for me to deal with.

You're the reason I started using this stuff because you always posted your success? Ugh.

I really do like it but I dont think that and bp can all be used in my regimen. After three weeks, it was too unbareable to deal with all that flakey skin

I do have the souffle but I have only used it twice. I am trying to keep my regimen very simple because my skin is super sensitive.

Glad everyone else is having great luck with this product too!

I actually found a case of samples of Aqua Glycolic in my closet, and decided to give it a try (no idea where these came from--it's a box of what must have once been 12 1 oz. bottles) and I've been using it for about a week as my cleanser. No wonder my whiteheads have been clearer and my red marks are faded!

The samples I have are super expired (August 2000! >_>), so I probably shouldn't be using them, but it's working great, especially since I mostly have non-inflamed acne now.

I should probably order some.

Its very hard to find, even in the states. Your best bet would be to go online and buy it. I got mine from drugstore.com

Does anyone know of any good reputable Canadian online drug stores that carry it? shipping from the states is a headache.

I used to use Glycolic products (MD Formulations) and it was great, but I think my skin got used to it after a while cause my acne came back. I used to get glycolic peels done at the beauticians as well.

I haven't used these products for a couple of years (got too expensive) but I think I might go back on them after reading this forum, it has reinforced my belief in it.

I got mine from Walgreens Pharmacy. They had to order it as they don't stock it. I got it the next day so it was very convenient. Maybe you could ask a nearby pharmacy to order one for you. If not, durgstore.com..

It has been 9 days since I started using this regimen. I added 1000 mg of Ester-c (vitamin C) and also a protein mask (egg white + lemon) to this routine. Acne bumps have flattened( not completely , but considerably). No new acne so far. About 60-70% of red marks have turned brown ( Which I hope is the healing stage for olive skin tone) and they seem like they are below the surface of skin.

And my skin is glowing, even with the red/brown marks, it is looking fresh.

I will keep updating with more details. I hope I get to write more good stuff about this regimen....:)

Drugstore.com doesn't ship to Canada and Walgreens is only in the states. The site that I mentioned above is the best option for Canadians. The shipping is really low cost and it takes about 5-7 business days to get there.

I bought the cleanser and toner not too long ago and it's supposed to arrive on the 20th, I'm quite excited to get my new products from the reviews I saw on drugstore.com and from the looks of it on here it works pretty well, I didn't buy the face cream because I worried the glycolic cleanser and toner would be drying enough on my skin I'd probably just be better off finding a good oil free moisturizer at Walmart that wont clog pores, but I'm really not good with products like that. :wall:

Does any one have any suggestions for a good moisturizer, and possibly spot treatment?

Can you substitute this product in place of dan's cleanser? Then follow the BP and moisturizer. Or i am restricted to use this cleanser only. Another question, some people say that they use this cleanser during shower, but at the end of shower or at the beginning?

Thank you

I use this cleanser plus a BP cleanser in the shower, they're both fully compatible. I think dan's is BP, right? if so you can continue to use that and this at the same time.

And you're suppose to apply this to your dry face first, so right when I get in the shower before I wet my face I apply this for a little bit, then add some water to my hands and massage it in then rinse it off. After I use the baby brush method and the BP cleanser right before I get out of the shower, and use another squirt of it and massage it all around, then get out, but you dont need to do that part, I just do for the hell of it.

I just started using the Aqua Glycolic cleanser last night and I love it! It doesn't make my face feel dry and it leaves my skin feeling really soft.

Edit//

I've only been using this cleanser since thursday night and already my skin looks so much better!

My mom even said my skin is clearing up! She is always telling me how awful my skin looks so coming from her it means a lot!

Hey everybody!

I'm new here. I've been on this website before but have never posted.

I'm glad to hear that this product has helped a lot of people. I may try it.

Let me tell you all my story. I've had acne since I was 13 yrs old I am now 21 (female)

I tried everything and nothing worked, finally when I was 17 I went on Accutane, I was COMPLETELY cleared. About a year and a half later I started getting my acne back but no where near as bad as I had it before Accutane. And little by little I started getting the red marks. I HATE these red marks, they are so disgusting and I can't get rid of them. My dermotoligist has me on Tazorac Gel which I like for active pimples but isn't doing much for the red marks. I've done 6 chemical peels with my esthetician, didn't do much either. I'm sick of spending $30.00 each visit to my dermotoligist when he is always telling me the same crap and nothing is working. So I decided to do my own research and came accross this board.

Where I'm at right now is my face looks good except for the red marks which are only on the sides of my lower face. Every now and then I do get mild break outs but for the most part its under control. I would be sooo happy with my face if it weren't for these red marks.

So thats my story, sorry for venting lol.

So you guys have really seen great results with Aqua Glycolic for the red marks?
