well i started on this product again, but just once at night, and my regular cleanser in the morning. so far my acne has been under control somewhat, but my red marks are still there, after using this once a day for about 2 weeks. I'll keep using it as it is the only hope for me and my red marks because these damn red marks are so stubborn they've been there for just over half a year. and its jsut all in two spots around my mouth bunched up so if i could jsut get rid of those i would have my self esteem back.

Anyone that had had success with this product.....has it also faded your stubborn red marks that have been there for atleast 5 months or more.

i kinda gave up cuz of the initial breakout. i hear that term being used alot, but is it always just initial? can it be that it'll just keep getting worse and worse and not improve? i guess thats what im most afraid of. i started 9/1 and stoped 9/19 cuz of the breakouts i was getting. i just started again 2 or 3 days ago and am waiting for my toner to come...

I dont consider myself to have super sensitive skin, but have been using only Cetaphil up to this point. I thought Cetaphil was as gentle as can be, and since trying this (I'm on day 2 only), I havent seen a negative difference or reaction in my skin. The consistency is very similar to Cetaphil; my skin has had virtually no reaction to switching products. No burning, redness, peeling, pain, breakouts or anything so far. Seems very very gentle IMO.

Ugh.. I got frustrated last night and lost my patience. Therefore, I scrubbed really hard and caused worse damage.

Alright, I'm just going to be gentle and tone it down a little for a few days until my skin recovers.

Grrr.. I hate myselfffff.

No one ever answered me about the toner.

Has anyone used just the cleanser, and then noticed improved results after incorporating the toner later on? Is it really worth it?

I think the toner works great. To be honest, i bought the 3 pack thing, and the most useless thing is the moisturizer, because it has no spf so i can only use it at night.

Anyhow, the toner seems to be .. iunno like an extra punch maybe... it contains GA that you dont rinse off like the cleanser, and it does a good job cleaning as well. Only thing i dont like about it, is that it makes my face sorta shiney... its not that it drys my skin and i get oily... its just shiny, and when u wipe it theres no oil. but then again, i think this happens with most toners

How did you scrub too hard? Are you using a washcloth or something? I thought you can only use your fingers and the cleanser. I think thats the gentlest way to wash. I also am trying to pay special attention when applying it to my marked areas: upper lip and cheek.

PS- Day 2, still no breakout!

I was using a baby brush (which I still haven't exactly mastered because I'm an idiot), and then when that didn't feel like it was doing anything, I grabbed my facial buff sponge and tore in. Guh.. I KNEW I shouldn't have.. But I just wanted to get this crap OUT of my skin.. ASAP.

I've learned. No more harsh scrubbing. Gentleness for a few days.. I can do it.

Glycolic has minor effect on my skin, 50% is like a gental exfoliator, it makes the skin slightly red but it only works on the upper surface. TCA is much more effective.

Update:

Initial breakout seems to be over. Have a decent amount of spots healing at the moment but it doesn't feel like any more will be popping up. My oldest marks have faded completely, newer ones have faded about 50%. Very pleased with the fast results! The Toner is key, that extra punch of glycolic acid staying on your face during the day and night really helps clear up those marks and prevent new acne. I'm sure sudocrem and BP spot treating is helping too. I'm very please with the dramatic results so far, crossing my fingers that this isn't something that works great for 2 weeks and then stops like everything else I've used. BTW... it seems like many of the people trying aqua glycolic have very mild acne. Mine was at best moderate, so anyone with a more serious case of acne that is skeptical about giving AG a try... hey, so far it's working wonders for me! But again, the toner is key!

Okay, at first when I used this my face wasn't breaking out at all (the first couple days) and the current breakouts at the time were drying up really fast but then all of a sudden I had some mild breaking out on one of my cheeks and my lower chin (which is really upsetting to me) but is this what you experienced? and how long have you used it?

Actually, those are the same places I broke out... cheeks and chin (also a lot of very very small skin-colored bumps scattered across my forehead that were only noticeable very close). It started a little less than a week after I started using the cleanser and continued for about a week. I started the cleanser on 9/11 and the toner on 9/19. I've noticed that I have to pop all my spots because for some reason the AG doesn't seem to make them heal very fast. After popping however, with the use of Sudocrem they seem to heal rather quickly.

Are you using the cleanser and the toner?

ahh holy crap same here (about the forehead thing)

I was just using the cleanser but I just ordered the toner and I'm getting it tomorrow

do you feel that helps with controlling the breakouts?

For sure. If you go on their website... the toner is the product they recommend for acne-prone skin. Plus the extra glycolic acid staying on your face all day and night really speeds up the improvement in overall skin clarity and a better complexion.

I think the shine seems to decrease the longer you use the toner and your skin adjusts to it. Overall, it's making my complexion improve a lot.

Unless my eyes are foolin me...I started using this Monday night. It is Thursday morning. My brown marks look better already. These marks have been around for at least 6 months. Id been using apple cider vinegar on them for almost 2 months with next to no change. Have stopped that and the BP regimen, and I am already seeing a difference. I am very encouraged!

I also have issues with breakouts on my chest and back. Started using AmLactin 12% there on Saturday. These areas also are looking better than they have in years. May have the courage to wear a low cut shirt this Saturday. Have shirts I bought 3 years ago that still have tags on because I havent been able to wear them due to my acne. I still cant believe it.

If I were you, Id try it. It cost me $15. Not too bad. Cant hurt to try!

You gotta use some type of sunblock on your face, or it's not gonna be pretty 😉

Do you all think it would be a good/bad idea to also use an AHA cream at night? I have heard good things about the Alpha Hydrox Souffle. I dont want to freak out my skin or try too many new things too quickly, but curious if this might be a good thing to try, and if so is it too soon? (Read my signature below to see what im doing now. Would be to replace Cetaphil moisture at night)

if your on AG already, i dont think a little higher percentage of GA would irratate you because your skin has already adapt to it.

I just want everyone who reads this to know that Ive found better results leaving AG on for about 5 minutes. For the past 4 days, it has been something like massaging it on for 30 secs and then wetting hands and do another 10 seconds and then rinsing it off. Today i decided to leave it on for a little more then 5 minutes... ( i got through two songs on the radio) when i rinsed it off, my skin felt a lot better, way better then how it usually would feel.

i unno just my 2 cents

I didn't read through the thread, but is this cleanser sufficient enough to substitute for a once-a-week 30% GA peel?

Search the boards for stuff on the souffle, but I have heard that it can burn people with sensitive skin. You might consider a lighter AHA, such as Lac Hydrin Five. This is much more gentle for the skin while still being an AHA. I use it and like it, you only need a little bit.

Alright.. I am currently suffering through a major skin freak-out. I think I know why.. But, I don't know.

I was on B5, and I kind of cut back drastically when I began to run low in order to procrastinate buying more, and then stopped. It's only been a couple of days, so I just picked up another bottle and am going to go on a lower-dose, the initial 5g phase and stick to that.. My body just cannot handle 10g. It can't. But I love the results of the B5. Is anyone else using B5 along with the AG?

Another thing.. I just ordered the toner, 100% Aloe Vera Gel, and then another bottle of the cleanser (I needed at least $10 to qualify for free shipping.. I figured it couldn't hurt since I'm going to need it eventually anyway).

Now, am I correct in assuming to use the cleanser, the toner, and then applying the AVG after the toner? I don't see how applying it prior to the toner would make it effective.

Any experiences, thoughts, suggestions or advice?

I know some of you use the AVG with this regimen, how's that working for you, and how exactly do you incorporate it?

yea im pretty sure the avg is last... toner is supposed to be a cleaner right? so yea.. it would totaly just pick up all the avg if u use it after

on another note, now that im on AG for a week, i noticed that i have gotten a lot less pimples, but now i getting a little bit of these things... its like the puss inside a pimple, but its not swollen, and its like right at the top of the skin, like its under like a really thin layer of skin and their very small. from far they look like white dots, but not whiteheads
