Lemons are a frugal person's dream (ahem). Applying topicals can become so tiresome after awhile. I couldn't apply any topicals during Accutane, so I am very un-used to having to put stuff on my face. Most days I don't and that works out pretty well for me.

I would rather sleep in or go to bed instead of doing my routine some times, not the best idea if you watch out for your skin.

Edit: I am such a dinkus, I posted in the wrong topic! I don't know how to delete my post and move it to the proper thread, so what I am referring to in the following paragraph is the Puredeming Intense Gel.

I'm really interested in trying this product, but I may be going on Accutane in the next month or so. Would it be best to wait till I finish the Accutane regimen before I start using this? Would it be too harsh on my skin, or would it be safe (maybe even more soothing?) to use while on Accutane?

I'm in a similar boat...wondering if I should get this Pure Deming Intense Gel R-ALA

hi guys 10% glycolic acid does wonders its like getting a light chemical peel every night the bottle says to use it twice a day but i think that's too much esp. since it makes you sensitive to sun damage. it sloths away dead skin cells and leaves you with a radiant look (after 2 weeks) im amazed! my face is glowing. I also put mederma on my face. glycolic acid helps your skin absorb stuff. so i've been fighting scars that way and mederma has spf 30!! so its marvelous :) so far so good, highly recommended guys! esp. for those who feel like no matter what or how they wash their face, they always feel its a little dirty.

I've had great luck with Rodan + Fields Reverse regimen for my discoloration and redness. Next I'm going to start using their Amp MD and anti age regimen at night. I used to google "how to get rid of pick scars" alllll the time and never found anything worth pursuing. I've seen pics of people's pick scars improving 80% or more with the Rodan + Fields stuff. And it's not nearly as expensive as laser stuff.

I have tried lemons before, didn't help me much but doesn't hurt to give it a try. Here is an article that I think will help you-

Hi, I just used Accutane for two months, am I allowed to use a product like Puredeming Intense Gel? I know I can't get a chemical peel, but can I at least use this safely?

does anybody have any thoughts on propolis or royal jelly? honey is recommended as a healing agent for skin but i have also heard that other bee products are good to have in your arsenal too.

Does dans regimen, the one that includes jojoba oil and AHA, help with removing dark marks, not scarring on the face and back?

A natural oil....might help fade red marks.

Bio oil did nothing for my marks, just broke me out.

I have found that the fallowing works WONDERS:

1. Rub your skin with some extra vergin olive oil for 2-3 minutes (until your skin feels thoroughly soaked)

2. Steam your face!

A. Start by boiling water

B. Place your freshly boiled water in a plate larger than your face

C. Put a towel over your head to trap the steam.

D. Continue for 10-20 minutes (note: if you are unable to deal with breathing the steam like I was at first, stick a straw or something out of the towel!). If you simply cannot take it, pace your self with intervals of 5 minutes. The most important thing is to relax, and breath slowly. I find bringing a distraction in, such as an iPad, and watching something on Hulu/Netflix is the best.

3. Gently dab off the EVOO using a cloth or paper towel.

4. Do your nightly regiment while your poures are still open and you should see immediate results fallowing the completion of your washing. I also knowticed that this took the redness down DRAMATICALLY on an under the skin white head that was popped only a day before. Good luck and happy steaming!

I've just started using the Boscia Bright White Masque on my skin at least twice a week. I've had maybe four applications and I think I notice a brightening of the skin as well as decreased hyperpigmentation. It's full of natural hyperpigmentation fighting ingredients too!

I used two bottles of Loreal's Youth Code Dark Spot Corrector from January to May or so earlier this year and I feel the product really helped speed up the lightening of red marks, and I only used the product during the day, with a sunscreen over it.

Some of you can give it a try.

I previously recommended the Buff Puff Sponge in this thread, but want to recant that post now. While it did help with exfoliation, it's not effective in getting areas around the nose and stuff and isn't that gentle. I now use miracle peel cloth. Exfoliates really well and consequently helps fade red marks.

I'm weighing my options between the Intense Gel R-ALA and the Manuka Oil + Manuka Honey Gel.

I'm currently using four products on my skin, one that contains 2.5% salicylic acid and another that contains 5%, Retina-A (0.025), and a gentle tea tree toner to help balance my pH levels, I also ingest four pills of tetracycline a day. All these products are making my skin just a little more sensitive than it usually is, an it's a little flaky as it should be.

1.) Which of the products are going to be the most gentle on my skin?

2.) Which provide better/faster results?

3.) Has anyone used the intense mini-peel from the same site that the intense gel is sold on?

Has any1 used the makeup thats supposed to have vit C and clear up dark spots while it covers. when my acne was bad I did use concealer to hide the red and now my acne is mostly gone but i still have quite a few red marks and wondering if these makeups cover well and really work to fade.

Since my acne calmed down, I have been using facial oil over the last couple of weeks to try to deal with all the scarring and pigmentation that has been left behind. I also had very dry areas from using harsh cleansers.

So, I bought some Moroccon Facial Argon Oil by Dr Organic from the health food shop, and since I've been using it I have seen a vast improvement in the general condition of my skin. And despite it being an oil, it has not broken me out at all.

I literally cover my face in it at night and each morning my skin feels a lot softer, more supple and my scarring is improving at a much quicker rate than it was before. The pores on my nose also look better.

I can't say for sure, but if you have active acne, this is probably something to avoid but for reconditioning the skin after acne- or maybe even acutane, i would say this is a great product. And its all natural, so there is nothing dodgy in it to be afraid of putting on your skin.

The description from the Dr Organic website is as follows:

"An advanced anti-aging serum, that optimises the skins natural cell regenerating and anti-ageing process. The natural properties of this rejuvenating oil, work in harmony with our proprietary blend of natural and organic actives. It provides a non-greasy facial treatment that instantly moisturises, to stabilise skin hydration levels whilst the natural age delaying phospholipids and ceramics penetrate the surface of the epidermis, leaving the skin feeling younger, smoother and softer, optimising cellular renewal and restoring skins elasticity and firmness."

So, I hope this helps someone- i'm just really glad i found the product and wanted to share the information!

After using proactive for years I decided it was time to call it quits. My face never looked so horrible; I was never so insecure. Desperate to find a solution and not able to visit a dermatologist, I felt so hopeless. Obviously I still tried those over the counter stuff, and I would glob it on to no avail. I tried leaving it alone. I tried a new diet. I would like to say I tried everything short of putting urine on my face.

Some of you may look at that picture and get disgusted. Others may sympathize. Imagine walking around with that all day long. Imagine the comments you might get. The stares you would notice. The horror of looking in the mirror. That was my life for months. And even now after my skin is clear I avoid light, and I don't like to get close to people. Acne is so emotionally painful, its not vanity. Its pure pain that you wear on your skin that everybody sees.

So after ranting on the proactive review on acne.org I did some researching. I was on this website for hours and hours. Searching for ANYTHING that could end my nightmare, could end the 'advice' people try to give that just make me feel worse. I read about natural products. I read that it takes a while to kick in but it could help. I also read where the creators of this website wrote that its not that reliable. But me, despising having red and dried out skin (from salicylic acid, benzonyl peroxide), decided to go for something more gentle.

Now I really feel my self esteem coming back. I am only left with subtle scars. As long as you keep strict to the treatment your pimples should go away and stay away!

This is my blog of my journey through all the products. A warning, it will probably not work for everyone. But it worked for me! My face was covered in big red pimples, whiteheads, and scars. Now I just have to wait for the scars to heal! I would advise to try it!

Below are before and after. I only started this treatment a month and a half ago! Now I do not get ANYMORE pimples (except when I get lazy with the regimen). My skin feels soft and healthy. I now do not have oil pouring out of my skin every second. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have left all of those drugstore products away! And even better is that the products are actually good for your skin!

I will post my regimen soon smile.png Share your story with me, ask any question, or just say hello. I know how painful it is. I'm here for you and you will get great skin.

Just a friendly reminder, don't be discouraged if you don't see results right away. It takes patience. Because it is natural it takes longer to work HOWEVER it keeps the pimples away permanently.

I think the methods described in this article are very promising for us acne scar surffers:

*Moderator edit, URL removed - read the board rules*

Aloe vera brings on cellular regeneration, and when used long-term - by this i mean consistently for 24 hours a day straight - it will start to repair the damage done by acne scaring. You have to keep the acne scar covered in aloe all the time without it drying up basically. Check out the article!
