Hey!
Everybody have to find, what works for them. For me it is a modified caveman regimen that works.
It's fun, I was actually thinking about that this morning. I'm thinking about using makeup again, but then it will be mineral powder, and I will probably wash and scrub my face afterwards to get all residue of my face.
At the moment I am only using mascara, and I use olive oil to remove that. Many others say that olive oil is a great makeup remover, so perhaps I should try that.
But I will definitely try using makeup again... when? I still don't know.
Good Luck!
I'm happy to share my progress! If it helps others it's even better 😀
I guess that in the start it's always hard to see the progress move two steps forward and then one step backward. It's hard, but once that's over, it only gets better. At the moment I (at maximum) get 2-3 pimples a month, which is a huge improvement. When having a new breakout every week was my starting point.
I still try to watch my diet, and therefore avoid chips, popcorn, sugary stuff and fried foods. I have also begun to exercise regularly, so now both my skin and body feels much better.
Good Luck!
Fourth Month
My skin is clear, and only gets oily in the evenings.
I have made changes in my regimen, that I thought you should know:
1. I wash my face every evening, unless I don't feel like it.
2. I workout for at least 15 min every day. Try to run 3-5 k every other day.
3. I don't use any mousterizer, cleanser or toner.
4. Scrub with honey and cinnamon once a week.
5. Baking Powder mask once a week.
6. Only eye makeup - which I use olive oil to remove
7. Drink at least 1 mug of green tea every day.
This has been the recipe to my clear skin and fastly fading dark spots.
But I do wonder about two things:
1. I want to juice lemon juice to lighten dark spots further. What is the best way?
2. How do I get rid of ice pick scars naturally? I don't want to undergo any surgical procedures.
So Long!
Many people like doing subcisions. This would be accompanied by a derma-roll, when the wound is re-healing. There are also other things such as needling, eating more vitamin E, and many other things you can consider.
edit:
Wow. And all this time I thought you were on the caveman diet. wtf? I'm happy to see it did you wonders, but this almost inspired me to do the diet! haha. I guess I'll look at some success stories and study the diet now, anyway. I'm already not using any products, so, yeah.
Hello everyone!
THIS POST IS A MUST READ! I have figured out the root cause of my skin issues and I strongly believe that I have the knowledge which can end almost all cases of acne. The solution is simple! I think that its great that you are all here reading about the caveman regimen. You're on the right track! *However we are no longer cavemen and should remember that in many cases the caveman regimen will have diminishing benefits once you reach a certain point. *
The majority of the skin care industry is a scam. Its an industry which is hungry for your money. What the skin Care industry doesn't tell you is that the harsh chemicals in skin care products will strip your skin of essential oils and bacteria resulting in clearer skin in the short run, but agrevated skin in the long run. Acne can be attributable to many things in today's society such as pollutants, processed foods, allergens, however there is one commonality that almost every acne sufferer endures. That is the usage of unnatural and harsh skin care products. If you ever notice your skin feeling tight after washing or that you use a plethora of products then you need to consider changing your skin care routine. Infact the cavemen regimen (with tweaks) would clear complexion for most people.
Here's why:
When we are teens going through puberty our sebaceous glands produce more oil and sebum which is *necessary* and is a *natural* part of the human growth cycle. Our skin may appear to be more oily at times as a teen, but if you refrain from irritating your skin during these periods your sebaceous glands will quickly regulate production and your skin will no longer look oily. The oil produced by our skin is essential because it actually strengthens our skins ability to deal with toxins ,*but only if the oils are successfully abosorbed by the skin rather than just sitting on top of it or constantly being whipped away.*
When we apply harsh skin care products to our face we "over-clean" our skin, stripping it of all the essential oils it produced. *Oils and bacteria produced by the skin are a defense mechanism of the body.* Therefore the response that people will get from continuously using harsh skin care products and putting their skin into a state of shock is that more oil will be produced at a rapid pace. Rapid oil production along with irritated skin will produce blemishes. In so many cases, people who would normally have clear skin, ruin their complexion by continuously stripping their skin by using common skin care products. If you use these products consistently then your body will routinely have to compensate for this which will cause you to develop sensitve acne prone skin. * The skincare industry is a self-fullfilling trap to get your money.* As the skin care industry continues to develop, acne continues to become more prevalent in developed societies. This is not a coincidence.
How to Heal Your Skin:
If you are a healthy individual, who routinely excersizes, and has no idea why you still break out, then you need to try this! Wash your face with only water, before you go to bed for one week. Use lukewarm water and do not rub your face. Ideally, let your face run under the water in your shower. Towel dry, never use any type of paper to dry. If you see an improvement after a week then continue following these steps. Your skin will eventually begin to feel more rough. Dry skin cells will begin to accumulate and sit on top of your skin. Since your body is not used to only using water as a cleanser, you'll need to help your skin out by exfoliating. Use a gentle, all natural exfoliant. A great one to use is an oatmeal mask. The benefits to oatmeal masks are endless and can be read about online. Simply mix oatmeal with warm water and gently rub it around your skin. Wash it off after about 10mins of massaging and pat it dry. For dry skin you can also add in raw coconut oil, honey, or olive oil into the mix. For oily skin you can add in unflavoured plain yogurt. And for hyperpigmentation you can add in a small amount of raw apple cider vinegar. You should also exfoliate twice a week until your skin is no longer acne prone. This regemin can be tweaked, however during the first month try and keep it as simple as possible as your skin will be doing the majority of its healing. Not only will this regimen sooth your skin, reducing acne, hyper pigmentation, irritation, and dryness, it will also balance the pH level in your skins moisture barrier. Many people realise that once their pH levels have been restored they actually have better energy levels and reduced anxiety aswell. This is because every time you over wash your face your body has to work very hard to rebalance your skins pH levels.
Few more tips:
- If you need to, find a natural and gentle way to moisuritze your skin after washing. Consider coconut oil.
- its highly recommended that you do not wear any makeup during the first month. Your skin needs to breathe. If anything, eye makeup should be alright and remove with baby wipes.
- If you notice that you have any body acne then do not take any long and hot showers. Instead take short lukewarm showers and gently pat your skin dry with a towel. And only shower when you really need to.
- When in the shower, do not let any shampoo run down onto your face. Tilt your head back when rinsing your hair.
Anyway, there's an abundance of information. I'll leave with that.
Cheers &Thanks for reading,
1 year later....
I no longer suffer from acne!
I only get perhabs 1 pimple at most, when my period is closing in.
My hyperpigmentation is gone! I stil have a few marks, but they are almost invisible by now.
Everyone is asking me how I did it, and I simply tell them about this regimen. It works awesomely!
Good Luck everyone!!
Hello, good to hear that you cleared your skin.
I'm still on my way to it...I started to break out around 12-13, and had been using skin care products for it around 4 years. I didn't find any improvement after spending so much money on it so I just finished the last of them.
I've been on the caveman regimen for around two weeks, I washed my face with cleanser 2-3 times in the first week though because I put make up on. Since then, I had been only washing my with water at night and occasionally in the morning. I'm breaking out really bad right now as I had never been before. My cheeks are covered with whiteheads and a few huge ones, when touching my face it feels like a lot of bumps...I don't even know how to describe it. It's just disgusting. My family suggested that I should wash my at least once a day with cleanser, but I don't want to give up yet...
I don't know what to do...And also if I have matured zits or whiteheads, should I pop them?
Please be careful when trying out the caveman regimen, it is what caused/initiatedseborrheic dermatitis on my face. My face was so oily after years of over washing and topical acne products that the yeast thrived (malassezia yeast feed on sebum).I was left to deal with both acne and seb derm, this was after a month of washing only with water at night.
I do agree that doing less is more, but just stay mindful and understand that both bacteria and yeast live on your skin. I now have a simplified regimen using an anti-fungal wash and moisturizer and my face has never looked better. But I will most likely have to use an anti-fungal ingredient for the rest of my life.
Just food for thought!
Hello
I had been trying out the caveman regimen for almost three weeks now, only washing my face with water at night. But recently, I'm breaking out like crazy like I had never before. I'm 17, Asian mix skin. Before trying this out, my acne was fading quite a little bit and it was almost healing. I don't know what I should do now, all my relatives are urging me to go back to my 20 like minutes skincare routine. Should I give up?

My friends have begun to ask me, what my secret is! They all know how bad my acne was, so seeing my skin clear is like a testimony.
I'm so happy and much more confident. I no longer fear getting close to people. I no longer avoid people touching my face. Even better I'm no longer paranoid when it comes to keeping my face clean.
I always tell my "secret" when people ask. Everyone should try this! For years and years i looked after that one solution. I could saved so much time and money if I had heard of this earlier!
I hope you all reach your goals!
Good Luck and So Long!
A huge thank you for keeping us all updated. Im up to day 3 on a modified version of Caveman Regimen (splashing with luke warm water morning and night and i do need Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer SPF 30 Sunscreen in the mornings) and your posts have helped me have some idea what to expect. Fingers crossed I have the same results you got. Im so happy for you to finally be free from this. A question though, how long did it take for your cysts to fully go away?
