the less products you use on your skin the better , your skin will thank you xD I don't use anything but only water to wash my face and I exfoliate with sugar once every 1-2 weeks

First of all, you are so brave. It doesn't matter that you slipped a couple times and wore makeup. It takes a lot of guts for you to not wear foundation or at least concealer for even an hour out in public. Secondly, I have tried this in the past and yes, it does work. But, I've also found(as you've touched upon), that diet is important to healing as well. I think this regimen works because most skin products out there further irritate our skin and hinder our natural healing process(especially "anti-acne" products)! Before I went on Accutane for the first time(around 14)I remember stopping all of my skincare products and it was honestly so helpful. But my dad insisted that I use soap on my face which ended up irritating my skin and making my acne worse. I have to use products on my skin now because it is so dry due to two rounds of Accutane. I use very natural, ph-balanced products now though. Good luck to everyone. You WILL beat this!!!

yeah im not OK with not wearing at least concealer. Lately I look like I have chicken pox cause the spots I have are so red! I'm seriously having trouble even wanting to apply for jobs because I have 0 confidence.

All,

Today marks 4 weeks of going caveman and I must say, I'm glad I stuck it out. My face over the last, oh, five days suddenly cleared up more than it has in months! If you're like in week three and starting to grow concerned DO NOT give up! I wasn't think there was really any marked improvement until this past weekend. I've started wearing tinted moisturizer instead of foundation and find that my biggest trouble now is hyperpigmentation. Hopefully this will eventually dissipate and scarring is minimal. I had originally told myself after a month I would take a day to get a facial or at least a good exfoliation, but I think ill hold out.

my skin eventually stopped itching but is still noticeably flakey, but its only my zits that flake, not all my skin. I stopped taking my multi vitamin and zinc as well. I don't know if this has had an added benefit. How is everyone else's progress?

I wanted to stop in and give an update since it's been over a month since my last update. I hope everyone who is doing the Caveman Regimen is having success! For me, I have not been doing the Caveman Regimen. I realized not wearing any makeup just wasn't an option for me. For a while I used black soap which didn't break me out however it severely dried my skin out even with moisturizer. The past week I started using hemp oil to cleanse and moisturize my face and so far so good. It hasn't broken me out at all and my super flaky dry skin is getting better by the day. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use the hemp oil. The first few days I did the standard oil cleansing method with a hot washcloth but I felt like my skin is too sensitive to the heat. The past few days I've been rubbing the oil in my face then using cotton pads soaked in water to wipe the oil off. I use as many cotton pads as it takes until it no more makeup is coming off on the cotton pads. Then I rinse my face with cool water and apply a few more drops of hemp oil to my face to moisturize. I'm thinking about adding a gentle toner in between the cleanse and moisturize step to make sure all the makeup and grime on my face is removed and to balance the pH of my skin. So far I'm loving the hemp oil!
Although I'm not doing the Caveman Regimen anymore, on the days I don't wear makeup I still don't wash my face or use oil on my face. I really agree with the idea of leaving your skin alone and interfering with it as little as possible.
If anyone has experience with oil cleansing let me know-any tips appreciated! Good luckeveryone!
