day 3 of drinking 4 cups a day. helps me sleep right through which im thankful about.
but cant really say its helped "that much"
since im a skin picker my face always looks bad
but trying hard to stop.
i have a regieme of aha's so dont want to go screwing it up. if no results after another 2 weeks then i shall try applying rooibos tea topically.
but how do you do it peeps? i heard you let it cool then apply the bag/hold it on the skin, wash off after 10 mins? acts as a skin toner
edit, im also drinking tick tock, waitrose own, and dragon fly version of the tea.
they all taste nice so thats good. i like that i can have a cup of tea at work now
reason i feel it may not work internally for me, is because i have a healthy body. i know my acne is passed down the family and its hormones to. both my sisters suffer.
one is 19 one is 26 i am 22, my dad had it till he was 23 and my grandad till he was 27

that will answer a lot of peoples questions
yea i have the same question too.. how do you apply it topically..
Whats up,
I have been drinking four cups of this stuff a day with about four tea bags in each cup. Getting to your question though, what i do is make a toner in a coffee mug using four bags of rooibos and four bags of chamomile. then i use a paper towel instead of cotton pad, but you can use whatever you want, and i apply it to my face after i wash it twice a day. and don't be afraid to add more toner occasionally throughout the day, cause it's only adding more antioxidents and all that other good stuff. By the way i've suffered with horrible acne. Like the kind where you avoid going out because its that bad and now after a week of using this internally and externally i have NOTHING! and my face looks really healthy for once. it's pretty incredible
I have to say this tea has some very incredible acne healing properties. If i stop drinking this my face will really turn on me. It really holds off the flood!
I really enjoy it as well. Im a huge tea fan and this is a very welcome additon to my tea cupboard
I sometimes mix the rooibos tea with green tea for a VERY tasty beverage!
It's great that the rooibos tea doesn't have any caffeine in it ... been drinking it since yesterday - 2 tea bags in a cup ... which I re-use 3 times... then another fresh 2 bags that lasts for 3 cups.
Since it doesn't have caffeine and is said to aid with sleep, I have to say I slept pretty well and deep last night... don't know if that's a placebo effect or the tea doing its thing.
It's now close to noon and I'm on my third cup (from the same 2 tea bags) and I'm feeling a bit tired. Could it be the tea? I woke up feeling refreshed and now I'm quite sluggish. All I've had is some toast and the tea.
It's only my second day on the tea - pure organic rooibos tea btw, not the Get Gorgeous ones that everyone was talking about (can't get that in my country) - still too early to tell if it's doing anything. A little worried about drinking it all day at work if it's making me "too" relaxed now
Is anyone still drinking the tea? Would love to know how it's been for you! Do share your stories!
Been drinking this tea as well as Get Clean.
I alternate and drink Get Gorgeous in the morning (2 cups / 1 bag) then Get Clean in the afternoon. I started Monday and so far I haven't seen any new breakouts, very minimal if I do and then they disappear after a few hours, my cysts have been steadily shrinking. Not completely clearing because they were pretty severe when they first started but they're calming down a lot.
For those of you who live by a GNC - the tea is usually always on clearance. I snagged both of my cans for $6.38 each.
Hey bunnylips, good luck with everything and I'm really glad you found something that works for you. This tea sounds like it's designed for the health of the skin, and I drink herbal teas all the time with good benefits. I'll pick this up next time I'm at a whole foods store, if I remember. My acne is only mild most of the time but I do a lot to keep my skin under control.
While I really like rooibos tea, I can't seem to find any reliable research to support the claims that it has much higher antioxidant levels than green tea (some sources cite 10X or 50X as much as in green tea). In fact, one of the only papers I could find cite its levels as somewhat less than green and black tea. Green tea just has such an incredible amount of research behind it as a safe and healthful beverage, and rooibos, so far, has very little.
I do really like the taste though, it has such a low tannin level that its very hard to "over" brew it... something that happens regularly when making green tea. Also, if you're worried about fluoride in green tea, its not really an issue with rooibos.
Roobious tea.is not a cure...but it makes acne a whole lot better. let me put it this way.when you don't drink it you have nickel sized pimples/cysts.and when you do drink it ,they all shrink about half that size or more, and the redness ,itchiness goes away. but i drink that stuff all day! like theres always a boiling pot of water and i got like 4 pounds for like 40 bucks on the internet.
Plus it is really healthy for you,it's like the only thing that beats water.health wise.
This stuff makes you healthier then ever, makes you lose weight..(anti oxidants) which is why green tea is so useful for weight loss.and this stuff has about 10x as much of it.
Don't expect to see this being on tv,everything usefull is secret.(roobious tea, hemp oil, natural cures)
well if you don't drink it,start!! this stuff is sooo good for you,if you have a big day coming up or a date.go buy some indica weed.smoke a good bowl right before bed.You will sleep so well and the deep sleep you get from this is also really good for you.And literally every pimple is gone the next day.but then they come back lol
loll honey girl i went to a health store and was looking for green tea but my intuition told me to pick up a tea similar to rooibos tea...Green tea did nothing whatsoever to my skin...but did u guys break out before it got better?
I am trying the "get Gorgeous" tea and I've started breaking out more. I'm not sure if it's pulling out the toxins, but when your skin is bad it realy stinks when it gets worse. It's so hard to keep going when I feel like I look worse, but I'm going to try. I'd love to know if someone had similar results, but then their skin got better.
Hi everyone!
This is my first post on acne.org...excited to find this forum and be here.
I bought the Bigelow's Rooibos tea, with pear. It's $4 for 20 teabags and you can get in in most produce stores in Chicago. 2 days of drinking 2-3 cups and acne seems less aggravated.
Quick question: are people trying this WHILE on dan's regimen? I am going to start the regimen in a couple of days and was wondering if that's okay. Perhaps I will not get the initial crazy break out this way?
here's to hoping for the best!
bump - anyone specifically know if this "Republic of Tea called Get Gorgeous " is available in any stores here in canada?
That tea is way too expensive. Any quality Rooibos tea can help. I order mine online from Amazon, just type Organic Rooibos tea in the search box.
Also, I don't drink 4 cups lately. I just drink 1 cup brewed with 4 tablespoons..(mine is loose)
Wanted to share my experience with Rooibos tea so far - i started a couple weeks ago drinking numi red rooibos - 2-4 cups a day. I noticed an enormous difference almost immediately - very very soft skin, less inflammation, fewer zits. Things were looking up. Then I run out of numi and decide to try the "get gorgeous" tea figuring it could only help more... after only 2 days of drinking it, I have broken out badly on my jaw and chin (nothing else has changed, it's not that time of the month for me). I started looking into the other ingredients of get gorgeous and found that chasteberry aka vitex aka vitex agnus castus can help acne in some people and cause acne in others. it impacts hormone balance (hence the jawline acne), and so depending on which hormones of yours are out of whack (i have no idea if i have a hormone imbalance or what kind), vitex can either help or hurt. Apparently it's hurting me, and the type of pimples I've gotten from it match up with other people's stories - deep, painful cysts that don't show signs of letting up (fun!). I love how life works - as soon as things start looking up, life never fails to humble me right away.
Anyway I just wanted to send out a warning to people about the get gorgeous in case they get similar results. I'm just surprised Republic of tea would put such a controversial, 50/50 ingredient in their get gorgeous (it's a bummer b/c the other ingredients are great, like red clover and burdock)...it turns out it's more of a "get ugly" for me... though I'm sure it helps many people so it may be worth a try. Just be sure to try it when you don't have any major events coming up
Anyway I've gone back to numi and am trying their green rooibos now (apparently has more antioxidants than red b/c it hasn't been fermented). Numi is expensive though so eventually I want to switch to loose leaves bought in bulk. My skin looks awful right now and hopefully will recover soon enough from the "get ugly". I really love rooibos tea for so many reasons, so I'm going to stick with it and hopefully get back on track to clearer skin. Regarding people saying that it causes fatigue - I too have noticed that I sometimes feel lethargic after drinking it...it's supposed to calm nerves so that may be why. I happen to have lots of constant anxiety and muscle tension just b/c unfortunately that's the way I've always been, so I love the fact that rooibos has a calming effect and I figure it can only help the acne given the stress-acne connection. Perhaps b/c I'm already so tense, the rooibos simply brings me back to a normal state, so it doesn't bother me. But I guess for people who aren't tense, it'll just cause fatigue. I'd suggest drinking less during the day and more at night.
Hope to hear other people's updates too!
Ummm I drink Rooibos Tea everyday, wasn't even aware of it's "anti-acne" properties, and I have a big cyst right now. (Been drinking this for a month straight)
edit: from my experience, JUST drinking tea is not going to help anybody. It's a step forward in the right direction, but the source of most cystic acne is some sort of imbalance in the body. Drinking tea in combination with a cleanse or balancing the liver/blood/hormones may help. But I've been drinking a sh*tload of tea for the past like 5 years and I still get cystic acne.
