anyone been having any success with this regimen?

if you go to his site theres a few ppl who say its successful. This regiment seems so odd, but then again im so desperate worst case scenario it just wont work like other regs.

Its the best reg I've ever tried. I'm almost to clearsville. I still believe I'll be completely clear by the 5th week, which is only a week away for me. Sure, their have been a couple hick-ups along the way. Those are expected as the pimples get drawn to the surface. I just gotta stick it out and I'm sure I'll have this shit beat. I highly recommend this reg to all kinds of acne sufferers, cystic or not. My acne was part cystic, part inflamed.

Bottom line I think, if your acne has been stubborn and everything else you've tried isn't working then why not give this reg a shot?

Like the guy above me said, this reg does seem a little odd. Thats one of the reasons this reg caught my eye, it was different. And all the other similar regs weren't doing anything for me.

I don't think it's really that odd. At first I definitely thought it was too simple. Like who hasn't tried BP a thousand times. My mom was a life time sufferer of cystic acne and in her 40's tried the proactiv and that worked for her. I couldn't understand why it wouldn't work for me. I think what is happening for me is that I required a higher dose of the medication (let's not forget that BP is often prescribed by derms, who are by no means the most informed in my opinion, but still it is a drug) for a longer period of time than I had tried in the past. I've been on the reg, minus the fiber since Oct 5th. ( I"ve used a product called OXY Powder for several years now, it's an oxygen based colon cleanser, bottom line with and without efficient bowels I was breaking out badly. I'm not against the fiber part of the reg I think it's an advantage for good skin and for overall health, it's just not the be all, end all for me)

My results have been very good. I've had a couple very minor pimples and a normal cyst on my jawline where I missed applying for a couple days because my skin was dry. The BP has reduced my oiliness and controlled my breakouts. My acne had become mainly cystic in the last few years, still had other stuff, but the horror was the cysts. I was getting injections weekly. Diet modification did help significantly, I was doing that for about a year prior to reading about this reg last month. I was getting very frustrated because although it definitely lessened the severity of my cystic breakouts, I was still getting them and I wasn't eating any carbs, sugar or artificial stuff. Now I'm binging on bagels and coffee again, which isn't good for my health, but sure does taste good! I'm like an alcoholic that hasn't had a drink... ok, i'm getting off track. Bottom line this will definitely work for some people, maybe not all as with everything else we've all tried. I would suggest cutting out as much sugar as possible, that's something I still avoid even with the reg because it was the thing that ignited my cystic acne. It took me over 20 years to realize the effect that sugar was having on my skin. I highly recommend the dietary cure for acne by loren cordain, it's a great book for acne sufferers, it can be found online. I'll keep the board posted on my progress.

Good luck all.

for severe acne. best thing to start with is oral antibiotics. if you can afford the side effects you can also try oral isotretinoin.

So, I've been on bfg's 'modifed' regimen for exactly a week now. Psyllium Husk Fiber capsules + Clean&Clear Advantage Daily Treatment Wash + 5% BP. I've been applying. The only thing I took from this regimen is the taking pills part. I take 6 of them in the morning and then wash with the C&C wash. In the evenings I use the wash again and apply bp all over my face and leave it on over night and wash it off in the morning.

I consider this regimen a sort of a sub-regimen to bfg's :D but hey, it seems to work.

This whole week has been a acne leaving party. All the cysts came up, but right now I only have one active cyst(that I just popped, so it's probably gone by tomorrow - growse, I know), the rest of them are gone and left a brownish mark behind. I'm hoping to have nothing but red/brown marks at the end of 2nd week and then just keep it clear from there. It looks quite promising atm and my skin looks a lot better than it did before I started this.

So, even if you don't live in the US, try to get the right pills from somewhere and use washes that are sold in your shops and you've found to work for you before. Good luck to everyone on this.

I agree accutane is best but I also think you need a regular regimen after tane to continue to stay clear. After my courses on tane ive went to washing "normally", any soap thats in the house. The same as any person who doesnt have acne problems. I think thats why acne has returned for me so using this regimen hopefully will get me clear, keep me clear and i wont have to think about tane again

Antibiotics were a waste of time for me, I was on various types them for over 2 yrs with no improvement.

Day 2 on this regimen and Im seeing redness for about an hour after but i think thats from leaving the BP on for the 15 minutes. Maybe 15 minutes is too long to begin with

Because I was bored.

....I don't live in the US and they don't sell OXY products over here. Ordering them to here is too expensive.

I'm back to report my 3 week progress as I said I would. Today is my last day of the 7-day OXY Powder colon cleanse I said I would try to help detoxify and clean my insides to help jumpstart this reg. I went back on taking the 6 fiber pills this morning. Man...it was unreal the toxins that came out of my body on oxy powder, and I have to say, I think it REALLY helped to jumpstart BFG's reg. While on the colon cleanse, I continued to do the oxy bar soap and chill factor. Here are my results by week end:

End of week 1: Major drawing effect of acne to the surface in places I've never had acne before. This shows that it's working. Skin feels dry and taut after Chill Factor. I wasn't used to not applying moisturizer right afterwards. Stuck to the reg and didn't alter it. Natural oils came out after a while to moisturize my face naturally. I already feel a difference in this regimen. I like the "cooling" menthol effect of the bp wash.

End of week 2: Followed this regimen to the "T." Acne still surfacing. My stubborn just-below-the-surface cysts are finally surfacing, along with some whiteheads. After gently popping them to get the head out, I notice that my skin is healing a LOT quicker than before. Within a day the acne that would normally be inflamed if I "picked" on them would sink back into my skin, become flat, and heal. My skin is a lot calmer. I started also ingesting a box of raisins daily and eating fresh fruit loaded with fiber added to my diet. Drink lots of water! Maybe this helped contribute to a quicker result. My face doesn't feel as "dry" after washing.

End of week 3: After incorporating the 7-day oxy powder colon cleanse, my face looks and feels brighter and softer. The drawing effect has slowed, and I noticed just a few minor pimples surface. Perhaps this is because I rid my body of all toxins. My face is now in a "healing" stage, in my opinion. What I mean by this is that although I'm still getting minor pimples, it comes and goes within a day. My face feels smoother than before when I wash, and is much more balanced. I don't have an overproduction of oil like I used to on DKR. Very promising. I'll continue to eat a box of raisins and fiber-filled fruits daily just to help along the psyllium fiber husks. Added fiber to diet won't hurt. Also, I'm nearing my time of the month, so I'm interested to see what the fluctuation of hormone will do with this regimen, or if I'll just break out like I normally do every month. Well see...

Women - as a note....since day 1 of being on BFG's reg, I continued to use makeup daily, since it's also a must for me. I use Bare Minerals makeup foundation, mineral veil, etc. In no way has my makeup reacted with this regimen or hindered its results I've received so far.

People, drink plenty of water to help the psyllium husks. So far, this reg is a BIG PLUS in my book and is working for me. I'm enjoying the results so far. Again, patience! patience! patience! Good luck! I'll report back weekly.

I just noticed that I have these very deep whiteheads that I can clearly see when I tighten my skin. I hope they come up...there's a lot of them and they've been there for a long time I think...

I'm also giving a little update. I've been on this for 12 days now. I started about a week before with 4 fiber caps and worked up to 6. anyway, I do notice that I'm getting little white heads and pimples where I've NEVER had them before. my back, a little on my shoulders and even my neck! But, i was expecting it from what I've heard. I've noticed that my pores look bigger. I don't know why that is, I look at myself everyday in the mirror and they're definitely bigger than they were before. I'm also noticing little scars. So, that's a big bummer for me but, I'm gonna keep with this at least until mid december. I don't wanna be all broken out for christmas! anyway, I was just wondering...everyone here has different diets and different skin, how could you be so sure it is going to work for everyone and every skin type? I know you're trying to help because it worked for you but, everyone is different. You never mentioned anything about diet.

You guys, it takes time for your skin to get used to the BP, if you get irritated leave it on for a shorter period and use oil free moisturizer, or one with jojoba oil. It's the only oil that does not make acne worse but better.

Yes I am, but with me my skin was quite clear when starting the reg so this was a maintenance treatment rather than a clearing one, I think it might take a long time to clear the face but once it does it will stay clear. I used a different way to get my face clear after ALOT of research. I started around 8 months ago after I decided I CANNOT live with acne anymore I had had enough.

I read loads of medical articles even paid for them! And decided the best and quikest way was,

.... to get topical Clindamycin (Proven to be a very good antibiotic gel for acne). This cleared my skin in about two weeks but I know using it long term would just make things worse.

Retin A (A very good topical cream I used at night that can be used long term to help with acne and keep wrinkle at bay)

I was only going to use the Clndamycin for 3 months because that is how long it takes for the skin to get used to the retin A and it is very likely that you will breakout in that 3 months so the antibiotic stopped me from breaking out which meant this were only IMPROVING rather than getting worse first.

I also use Hydrogen peroxide as a toner (But I have replaced this with bfg's Reg).

So that is how I control my acne, bfg's Reg will probably clear you but will take a while for some people. You might want to use the antibiotic to speed up the process.

Good luck.

What's the exact product name and is it prescriptional?

Although I'm doing good on this regimen and I don't have any cysts anymore (start of my 2nd week), just those deep whiteheads that are slowly coming up, I wouldn't mind speeding it all up and then maintaining it with this.

In the UK it is called zinacline. I'm not sure about the brand name in the US something like clindagel???? It does clear the skin fast, basically gves you a head start.

4 week update:

My forehead, nose and chin are totally clear, with some very slightly visible marks that fade more each day.

The problem areas seem to be my upper cheeks. For some reason there is a lot of stuff deep under the skin on both sides of my face in those areas. Theres a lot of swelling and redness and a lot of pimples keep popping up consistently. If it weren't for these areas my face would be great but just this gets me really down as it is very red and noticeable. Hopefully this gunk will get pushed out soon or disappear. Me constantly picking at it doesn't seem to help things. :doubt:

Hey bfg, just thought I'd let you know I'm giving your regimen a shot. Here is a link to my story: here

I've tried everything under the sun to treat my cysts externally so I like that your approach does something different to work from the inside out. I'm also going to do a colon, parasite, and liver cleanse starting next week. I expect thing smight get a bit worse after all that as body is releasing all those built up toxins.

I'm in the second week of your regimen now. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have been reading this thread over the last few weeks and have decided to give the regimen a go. A little background on me:

I've had moderate cystic acne since I was about 14 years old. This was right through the "critical" years of grades 7 through 12 so my self confidence suffered a lot throughout this time period and has obviously shaped who I am today, for better or worse. I am now In my 3rd year of college and 21 years old and STILL have MILD cystic acne. Although I have recovered a ton of self esteem and learned a great deal about eating right and staying healthy, like most of you here I just NEED to shake this acne for good. I decided to give this regimen a try since I have tried everything else under the sun and nothing has worked. Im on day 3 right now and so far so good! A few whiteheads coming right up and a few darker spots brewing under the skin.

Since I am in Canada I had to order the OXY chill factor 10 from a girl on Ebay and as a substitute for the bar soap I use Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wach (2% salicylic acid). I was also fortunate enough to come accross this bad boy on Ebay:

http://www.thermaclear.com/device_main.cfm

Let me tell you this thing is AMAZING! It kills bacteria by heating up the pimple to 200+ degrees celcuis in a fraction of a second. It feels like a very small pin prick and you get used to it quickly. Used 2 to 3 times per day on new and existing pimples and those nasty blood/pus filled cysts, it has been drying everything up in a day or less!

I expect to get much more use out of it being that I am only on day 3 and I'm sure the worst for me is yet to come. Ill keep everyone posted.
