Hey guys - Ive been battling with acne ever since I was 16. Im in my thirties now and still struggle with awful skin. Im the healthiest person I know. I dont smoke, drink, do drugs, I exercise, and I have a very clean diet. Well its not entirely true: as I was smoking weed everyday for about 3 months out of depression.

out of desperation to remedy this permanent redness, splotchiness, darkness I began a carnivore diet on September 1st 2024, and have still been struggling. I stopped dairy at the same time, which I was hoping would clear up the redness. Still no visible results, and I cant tell if my skins even healing.

i feel cursed, I dont know what Im doing wrong. As you can tell my forehead has plenty of pock marks (I was a popper.)

my skin regime is:

tea tree facial cleanser

bio oil

Paulas choice SPF 50 facial Sunscreen

anyone ever feel as hopeless as me? lol

Carnivore diet! So cool. I am really interested to hear how it goes for you. Still nothing yet though huh? Your skin doesn't look too bad though.

Keep us posted please.

And remember The Regimen is always there if carnivore doesn't work.

You have texture like mine but mine is probably double/triple worse and I have scars. If you want my opinion on what's going on, you probably have hereditary disposition to certain coloration or pore issues (like me) and you also probably have some superficial or microscopic damage from acne which is probably causing slight differentiations in skin levelness or things like that.

Diet is important in not making it worse for sure, but diet won't cure the above imo.

I seriously mean this, your skin is really nice. It's like 1/3rd my textural issues. Honestly, I wouldn't even bat an eye. I know compared to some 21 year old girl your skin might look like it's bleh, but seriously compared to everyone on average in my opinion it's very average. Overall your skin is extremely flat. Mine isn't because I had more acne damage in the layers.

PS you could have some slight Rosacea tendencies around the cheeks.

Your skin is really not even bad at all.

I have been suffering with bumps similar to yours on the chin! So far, I have applied sulfur after every shave. Seems to calm everything down much better.

Probably can give it a shot!

Thanks, Dan. Im so happy to see the founder still posting here. Heres my skin today. I tried carnivore for two weeks and got bored of it so I stopped. I began practicing extended fasting which Im positive reduced a lot of puffiness and bloat. I also improved my skincare regime, as I stopped caring about it for some time.

I took your advice about the textural issues, and began including a chemical peel in my new skin routine. Thanks so much for your supportive message. It made me smile.

Thanks for the advice. I started using a foil shaver instead which feels so much better on my skin. No tugging or pulling. Im going to buy a soothing aftershave.

You could look into vitamin C supplements 250mg to 500mg/day for a while (the lowest ester C comes in 500mg so I take one or break one in half for a while if my diet is lacking) also to see if it helps. You could be lacking some vitamins, multi and vitamin C also could aid texture. Vitamin C in particular is renowned for helping elasticity, pigment, collagen if you're lacking it. JMHO.
