It's not just tension. I'm guessing healing depends on area where there's more fat/skin/whatever - not really sure. It could also be the stitching technique of the doctor. But my plastic surgeon did two and one healed great while the other did not.

Some doctors will inject Botox around the scar so that there's less movement there. Again, I'm not an expert so it's always best to speak to a specialist and get multiple consultations if that makes you feel more comfortable.

What she means is about the facial anatomy on how the skin pressure is on that area. The higher the pressure the greater chance of excision line or opening up. One way is to use absorbable sutures and keep sutures longer to provide it adequate support.Withthis method you can keepthe sutures longer.

I did fractional CO2 a few times on them and didn't see improvement. I can't do ablative as that's too risky for me. Phenol Cross didn't help them as well.

I had one excision with dissolvable sutures but I still got a visible linear scar. Two others were with stitches that had to be manually taken out. One of those two healed beautifully while the other did not.

Did a biopsy with a dermatologist and he was not good. He did a punch excision and I was left with a red mark - fixed by the plastic surgeon.

I am not talking about full cheek ablative. I am talking about spot fully ablative just covering the excision line. Go to duration 2:26. In this case he is doing just scars, but same thing can be done on theexcision lines. In my opinion the risk is not bad since its just targeted on the scaralone. Dr taylor does that with erbium laser he calls it tangential resurfacing. I dont think fractional can do anything on these excision scars. I remember I told the doctor the area of the indented line and he went over with full ablative mode while the rest he went with fractional and I had small indent line somewhere it didnt do much on them. I am pretty sure he missed those scars with fully ablative and hence they look the same.

I did it with dr Taylor in Salt Lake City Utah , he is a derm but knowledgeable in regards to acne scars, I would say he he very good with laser compared to surgery. You can go to a plastic surgeon for excision and then go to him for laser part, he khows to improve those shallow scars post excisions or indents from excision.first try out 2 scars one big and small and see how you heal in both cases. Formost people smaller area scars heal way better than large ones. Make sure multiple suture are used to keep the wounds together. Dont be bothered by number of sutures as those suture ensure the scar is closed tight and not open.

the reason I went to him was he saw what I saw in my scars. I always believed excision was the solution for the deep ones, and he agreed when I had the consult. Im didnt mention what I wanted but he proposed this to me. So I knew we were on the same page.

Quick question, I have an appointment set to see Dr. Rullan next week for his "Quatro" (cross,sub,filler,Erbium). It appears that erbium is not really effective on deep boxcar scars. Im now debating if Im better off getting just cross+sub with Rullan and see another derm for fully ablative Erbium/ co2? Or should I just try dr rullans quatro treatment and see how my skin responses?

And if i was to go to another derm for laser how long should I wait after cross/sub?

If you want to go sooner I would say 2 months post cross phenol for laser session separately.
