@MiroI have stayed out of this convo as you guys were having a discussion thread. You cannot compare your scar treatment to other's no the reaction or healing you will have. Everyone is different, every treatment is customized. Just because someone has PIE/PIH Hyperpigmentaiton does not mean 98% of the others will. The same thing with side effects. We are all different.
It's really not a big deal. Your comparing with someone who has had chicken pox scars as well, difference in age, health, desired outcome, circumstances and background, possibly even ethnicity.
Subcision is extremely safe, some people are sensitive and need longer healing times.
No one will find a miracle scar solution, ... then you would find the foundation of youth, scars are a natural part of aging and healing.
3-4 rounds of subcision may not be enough for you and one session of laser, again everything is customized to your scars. Some need 8 sessions. Nothing is universal, ... some need other treatments in between. One person's version of perfect is not the same as your preceivedoutcome or desires. Part of this is psychological, ... when is good enough good enough, and is it really that big of a deal. Some have BDD or a perfection complex and would do better with a therapist to deal with the ups and downs of treatment and internal scars.

Yeah sure
Hello Everyone
I did more than 4 sessions of subcision+ tca +dermapen + prp with dr chu however I can see no improvment
it is really sad
I am in UK can please tell me the best and fastest way to get rid of this scars who ruin my life
please give me solutions in uk not outside it
That doesn't surprise me LOL
I have no idea why dr Chu was even advised on this board to begin with, I had a negative experience with him and the same is true for a lot of people I talked with on here and through PM.
He offers the same three treatments to everybody and all three are performed in an incorrect way.
The microneedling is useless, I mean we can do it ourselves at home.....no need to have him perform it, but anyway he also does it in a useless way. He does the dermapen before subcision LOL, but since most scars are tethered it's all futile. He should do the subcision first and then the microneedling to stimulate collagen but he does the opposite for reasons I can't understand. Microneedling can't improve tethered scars, not even in the slightest. Indeed the only effect you'll have with the dermapen is a textural improvement that you could achieve yourself with the Derminator at home.
The subcision is done only with a Nokor when instead a cannula should be used whenever possible to reduce risks of side effects. Moreover he doesn't put anything in between (he doesn't believe in fillers) and only subcisea couple of scars and in a rushed way.
The TCA cross is done, again, in an incorrect way. He's very rushed, missing the majority of scars (again LOL) and isn't accurate at all. The acid barely touches the scar andhe immediately wash it off (ie neutralize) after 3 seconds....but why he neutralizes it? TCA is self neutralizing.
Indeed I got no results whatsoever. Didn't even get scabs. Dr Emil doesn't neutralize the TCA and indeed now I got scabs and the scars improved. It's not a coincidence.
Tbh I'm still quite angry because I lost precious money and time with him. I don't know why he was advised on here.
My advice? Go to dr Emil in Denmark. Acne scars is a specialized field and very few doctors can actually treat them.

The price depends on how many scars you have, the treatment plan, the severity ecc
I went seeing him 3 days ago so it's too early to tell but I'm pleased in how he treated me. What he did make sense, I can't say the same with dr Chu

yeah I know it is different. but can you please tell me how much approx did it cost you ?
For me it cost 1000euro Sub plus filler but I had 3 areas to subsize. 2 cheeks plus the forehead.
CrasBash So sorry to hear that( Did you go to Chu after all these sessions to showthat you don have the result? Or not poss to discuss anything?Seems like he is on pension now and does nor care anymore. Who cares about the cheap price if the procedure itself was done unaccurate with no results.
So I hope EmilsSubs will bring result eventually. Now when I found a Dr I can have the normal dialog and skilled treatments I am goingto stick with him and do at least 3 Sub. The question is that if after 3-6 Sub with rightDr there is no result then what?
How many exactly sessions with Chu did you do?

Dr.Emil listened to me, examined the scars in theupper harsh light(exactly that light which shows the scars in the most bad way), took the pictures. All friendly, attentiveand professional... My main questionswere:Should I repeat Sub+filler if I have already done 4 Subwith no result? Punch techniques for the certain scars before repeating Sub.
Dr.Emil said that he saw/felttethered scars! That first he needsto do the Sub.And agreed that surgical options could be the option for later. And that the lasers are Not my option, may be for certain areas(nose) for later.
The cheeks were done without numbing with the smallerneedle(not Nokor) close to the surface. Not comfortable but no pain. The forehead was done with anaesthetic injection(painful) and Cannula tonnes Sub followed the filler(no pain).
Tca spot 85% was done on two places. To see how it goes. Very accurate right to the floor of the scar.
I heardthe sound of poppingtethersall the time andwas pleased to see how much the scars went up. I could not believe that the majority of the scars were not Subcised by Chu at all!! All took about 2 hours. And in the end Dr.Emil thought that another cheek needed more Cannula Sub so he gave me another appointment for tmr.The price for everything was 1000euro(including tmr).
Very positive experience! After Chu it was such a difference that I could not believe it!
I hope that it will be an improvement this time. The swelling is mild, no pain, see some bruising. No using ice afterwards not to push the filler out of place.
The reception ladies andThilde who organised my appwerevery nice and helpful. The klinik is clean with well equipped cabinets and nice waiting room with the drink.
There is a pleasant walk in the park near the Klinik. The closest hotel is BestWestern 20 min walk. Odense is a lovely place and because of not much swelling and no pain I can spend 2 days walking around instead of staying in like it was with previous Subs.
Thank you!! Keep us posted.. was the price for both cheeks subcision and included filler?

After 2 weeks I healed ok, got a pigment but it is always like this after the procedure. UnfortunatelyI do not see much changes( My stubborn chicken pox scars on the left cheek are the same, kind of softer though because of the filler. I more and more sure that only punch excision could make the difference. Will see how it goes in 2+months.
May i ask u , im just curious , Isnt it too soon seeing him again In september ? I mean there will ve still filler In your skin, he told me filler belotero lasts 6 months, just askink. All the best with ur treatment
The price was 1000euro for 3 zones( cheeks and the forehead).
Thank you, Miro, I will go to Emil anyway to see the plastic surgeon in the clinic for the poss punch excision. And then see to do more Sub or not. I feel now that it was not enough filler, I do not see or feel it at all, scars are the same so I will go in 3 months again. For me it is optimal fromthe past experience.

I think you expect too much. It all takes time. Frankly, I didn't see much improvement after my first subcision with Dr. Henningsen and that was exactly what he told me. The first subcision doesn't do much, it's the subcisions after that that matter.
Now, 4 months after the second, one large indented scar is practically level, but the one that annoys me the most is still indented. So, in September, I plan to go again.
There is a few years old topic about subcision and its results that really make sense to me.
Noa, I do not expect that much. It is like I have already done 3 Sub before..now it seems that they were not done right(.. so I guess I have to start from the very beginning with Emil...also I have chicken pox scars on the cheek which harder to treat...it is just for all the procedures I have done in the past nothing nothing has changed the difference inbetween the floor and the edges...I just expect the elevation of the floor and the scar becoming normothrophic not sunken.. but this does not happen..

That is something that needs time. I have treatments in the past that did nothing. I also have the feeling that I start from zero with Dr Henningsen.
The filler he is using, is not ment to fill in the pits, it is ment to untether the scars for months so that collagen can grow. My pits weren't filled after his treatments. But after some months I've noticed that they are SLOWLY filling in.
Can I ask you guys what the downtime was like for subcision+filler+TCA Cross? I'm planning to see Dr. Emil but I could probably only do it over a weekend, and return to work on Monday. Either that or just wait until holidays (christmas/easter/summer). Is it possible to fly straight out of Denmark after having the procedure, or do you recommend staying in Demark for a few days?
I had my procedure done on Friday and flew out of Denmark on the same day
The frosting after TCA Cross only last 30-60 minutes (at the most), then after a while they start to appear darker and a smallscabis formed on the scar and it will last a week (more or less). Honestly they didn't bother me at all
Subcision is different though. It depends whether it's performed with a cannula or a Nokor needle (he'll use Nokor only if the scar is very fibrotic and it's impossible to cut it with the cannula).
If it's done with a cannula, you'll have a small bruise and little swelling and it will disappear very soon. With Nokor the bruise can last for weeks and the lump (swelling) for months. I still have the lump on the scar where he performed subcision with Nokor but it's barely perceivable now.
Filler will give you some swelling and maybe some bruising but not for long...a week max
@General_RommelI want to be very very careful giving generalized advice like it takes a week to heal, or ""you will have a week of down time."
Something that does not bug someone, may be a big deal to someone else. Itdepends how"you " respond and heal. You will know this better after your first procedure.
I have had several who had 4 months of swelling post"cannula" subcision. We are all individuals. You can fly back right after your procedure. It's for your own comfort that other's stay or vacation in the area as to not show the post procedure swelling - edema through the airline travel. So this is all a individualized choice. TCA Cross can also last for months in certain patients.
One can easily do a weekend treatment taking off Thursday or a few sick days and a weekend, ... will you be healed in time?I cannot say that is a personal opinion and variable. Be prepared for swelling. Some use makeup / tinted sunscreen / concealer to cover the issues.
Had the 2d procedure with Dr.Henningsen today. I had some tiny improvement of certain scars and did not have any on others with the 1st Sub. I will post some pics later.Overall the scared areas becamemuch softer. I was ready for the 2d Cannula Sub butNo Cannula Sub this time, the scars are not tethered any more!Emil did accurate small needle Sub with Beloteroto each scarusing tonelling method. First all the scars then I waited for an hour then added more filler to already done scars and more Sub to the scars which were missed before then more volume to the cheeks. The needle passed easily almost under each scar almost no pain and where there still were some tethers it was pain(2 places).
Tca spot to 1 scarwhich responded well last time. I did not need anaesthetic injection at the end, all was tolerable enough. Friendly, caring, normal discussion, the same good experience. So hope by New Year I will have more improvement.
