Hello, How are you all ?

After beating acne the biggest enemy will be the scars !

The scars will not pain you but it will give you a bad feeling

I had done many lasers treatments more than 10 with different types of lasers
I tried dermaroller , and subcision which i had with more than 4 doctors over 4 years but nothing fixed anything and my face still have alot of deep acne scars which many of them are rolling type and some are boxscars

I went to doctor chu which was recommended from doctor davin lim and he told me he will do many seassions from me which will be prp+ tca+ derma pen and subcision

I searched for reviews for this doctor but all opinions and reviews I find is from 5 years ago and more

So I made this post so anyone who have tried to treat his acne scars with this doctors post his review and tell us his opinion please because he is the most famous one on the UK for these treatments

There has been hundreds of recent members who saw Chu? Just search and you can see reviews and experience. Dr's like him do not need to advertise/market as so many goto him for "manual" scar work like Rullan. It's pretty self evident his experience as so many in London/UK/EU goto him. He is a professor who teaches other Drs how to do dermatology. He has a set menu of treatments and does the same thing. If you want other things after you find a laser Dr. His prices are also quite cheap.

@SibelLook at any white paper on acne scars. Treatments take 3 to 6 months to heal, Laser can take 6 months to a year. You had PDO threads as well(filler can last longer than that period). Dr's push sooner treatment as they get money quicker, some stack multiple treatments which can add risk, they do not think people need time to heal which I think is smart don't you to evaluate what worked and what did not with your treatment. There is a simple solution, you tell them you will contact them back for follow up and you make the time period, or you tell them 3 months is better for your schedule. You don't have to do whatever a Dr tells you. some go year or years between treatments. This is your body healing. We cannot rush treatment that is a mistake. Skin is more sensitive and collagen is slow to build. This is your plan, not his. As you get older it even is a slower process to heal(taking longer than when your young).

I agree with this at home aka DIY, or even basic stuff like microneedling that you can do once a month between Dr treatments at home or by a technician. Light - Mild peels you can do once a month. Dr treatments like Sucbision, tca cross, deeper peels, especially any energy device take"AT LEAST" 3 months to show full results, sometimes looking worse before better. Hence why I say at home microneedle and do your peels once a month between treatments and any Dr treatment 3 months apart.

The one exception is if the practitioner say is doing the face in quadrants, ... say he did the cheeks, and missed a area or the forehead, of course he can treat that ASAP, it was never treated. For those traveling internationally, they agree to take the risk of multi treatments and the possibility of a issue and treat all at once, know the sensitiveness of your skin, pushing things will not make the body heal quicker.

Professor Tony Chu is one of the most decorated and respected dermatologist in the UK, remember, there are many roads to the same destination. Some use lasers, other use miconeedling, but the common factor is that top level specialist use manual methods like TCA CROSS to individually target scars on the surface, and subcision to feel for scars under the surface. Seeing, and feeling scars = successful scar treatment. Using a scanner like a laser or RF microneedling Instensif, Infini, Venus, Intracel is hoping the collateral damage from the heat point will beak the tethering, same goes for microneedling, however combination treatments are what acne specialists do. Prof Chu = respect.

Hello Sibel, how is the recovery coming along? Do you see any improvement already? It would be interesting to read an update from you, if you feel like it. :)

Dr Chu also told me that I need seassions of PRP + DermaPen + Subcision + TCA at one seassion with other seasions following each by 6 weeks only. Do you mean he want to get money quicker???

@CrashBashMany Drs say get treatments every 2 weeks. I am not your Dr nor do I have responsibility for your care or decisions. I am empowering you to take responsibility for your care (no harm will be done by waiting).I have helped thousands of acne scar suffers. We just do not heal quickly, the body is very slow to heal. Thus as I went into great detail above. Tell the receptionist you will schedule at a latter time or re-schedule 3 months from the date you see him. He is doing 4 treatments at once, that is a lot going on. Wouldn't it be logical to see the results that it makes on your skin as you heal and allow your skin time to get rid of inflammation from the healing stage. Of course the choice is yours. Dr Lim and other Drs will have you wait 3 months from treatments, it really depends on your skin, sensitives, how you heal, response, distance to travel, finances, complexity of the scarring, etc. No one is saying Chu is bad, ... I am saying you be responsible for your healing and treatment. For example, asurgeon will tell you to do another surgery back to back even though you just had one,... but many will only do it when appropriate to their situation and well being of their health, they know themselves best, they know when the time is right (if not a emergency). The full results of subcision take 2-3 months to show results, collagen is sensitive. Some of the worst side effects/ healing / results I have seen are patients doing to many things at once with no healing time. Perhaps your a quick healer, so by all means do whatever you feel is best with Chu. If he is treating a different part of the face that was not touched or treated in this last sessionby all means the above does not apply, it's a new treatment,

how long realistically would you say it took for your skin to look presentable e.g. going back to work?

1 week or 2? i guess 2 weeks to be safe

Hello,

Can someone give me the contact info of dr. Cho? I would highly appreciate your fast reply. Is the price of 300 pound still the actual one?

Thank you.

The healing is very slow, at the moment the forehead scars are worse and I see that certain scars were missed with tca and the places were touched where there was no scars.

I booked the next treatment for mid January. I asked for follow up consultation before the treatment but it is not possible on the dayof the treatment! The consultation and follow ups are held separately on Mondays. Also prp is not included any more at the package. You can add it separately for 125. Dermapens/Subcision/tca 350 for now. Before D/Sub/tca/prp was 420. So the prices have gone up.

Was it 350 for all of them or each and is it one session at that price.

Thanks

Hi Sibel,

Went through the thread; I feel your struggle butI hope you see some improvements in the coming months!

You commented on a post of mine few months back so I had to check your threadand was wondering how did you get in touch with Prof. Chu though email? You mentioned you didn't have a consultation with him prior right? The prices you listed above are shocking to me. I had 1 subcision a few years back with Dr Bashir and cost slightly over 1000!!

Hi JRK17,

I have got in touch with Professors secretary Jean, she showed my pics to him and organised the appt. I booked the package and as I thought the prior consultation but it turned to be that Professor did not give consultations at the same day. Somehow I misunderstood it. But he saw me briefly before anyway. So for the second treatment I will have the follow up consultation on the previous day. You need to book it separately through the clinic. Now Professor has moved to Skinmedico,Chiswick road 215. The prices are reasonable. The 2d treatment will cost me around 1000 , consultation 125+package DermapenSubTca 350, pdo threads 50 each. So the same price just for a Sub is a bit much. Plus 300 travelling cost.

I am still healing after 1 month, got the outbreak so post the pics as soon as I heal.

Do you feel any improvements? and are they satisfying or not yet?

I tried many procdures before nothing made me any improvement. I have appointment with dr chu which is my last hope

Oh dear..unfortunately I do not see any improvement at the moment, also because the spots I have got are right on or near the scars..I also tried many procedures before Chu and he is my last hope too. Because there is nothing else left after Sub for me. Yes I will do the fillers later but for the volume.

When do uhave ur appt with Pr.Chu?

Hello Everyone,

Everytime I hear that doctor tony chu is good for acne scars but the procedures he do are so limited.

Can you tell me the best in UKother than Dr chu in Uk or anywhere near wales

Thank you very much

I read the pinned threads but I didn't find a good doctor in UK other than Dr Chu. Who do fillers or lasers and these types of things
