Subcision from an Obgyn?

So I've been starting to treat my scars lately. I have had a couple of dermapen sessions at a med spa, and been looking for a doc who will do subcision on some of my rolling scars. I found one that will do it (4-5 scars for $150) seems pretty cheap. She is a doctor and a surgeon but an obgyn not a dermatologist. She runs a med spa on the side. She would use a hypodermic needle not a nokor needle. She sounds pretty confident and says she has done many before. (Didn't have any pictures though). So I guess just wondering what other peoples thoughts are? Should I go for it? Or keep looking for a dermatologist to do it?

This is not really subcision, ... it's not able to cut the threads correctly. Any OBGyn can use a needle but should she be doing your subcision... You get what you pay for. Sure go for it (your choice), but I would not expect great results, for the price, her qualifications, and the needle choice. She is basically just poking around in your skin.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think I'm gonna keep looking for a derm to do it. I have another consultation in about a month with a derm who has subcision listed on their website. So hopefully they will be able to help me. I'm willing to pay whatever it costs to someone who knows what they're doing. Not much point in going through it if i dont get any results, and I definitely don't want to make things worse.

I would not let my acne scar dermatologist deliver my baby, nor would I allow my dentist to do my knee ACL construction. I wonder what an ObGyn is doing with subscision. IF i was a acne scar specialist, I would not consider doing root canal therapy during my quiet times ... if I had any . My 2 cents worth.
