Well there's literally no sign of subcision left. I did a 30% glycolic peel just for exfoliation purposes so my face is kinda stingy at the moment but that will be all over in a day or 2.
I will update again as soon as i walk out the clinic on the 4th after my fillers. Im hoping this isnt going to be a waste of $600. Its a small price to pay if it helps.. but if it doesnt.. thats a big chunk of my savings fingers crossed!
xx
@91baby Sorry if I'm merely regurgitating what others said already (this thread is too long and I've skipped through most of what's written). But the scars in this pic is very similar to what I have and you would benefit a lot from Infini RF. I got mine about 5 weeks ago and I honestly believe there's at least 50% improvement. Most of the shallow scars are gone. Maybe you should hook up with Dr. Lim, if you're in his neck of the woods?
@Sirius Lee hey there, thanks for the input/advice. I think other members have suggested this, ive just never heard of it really or researched it all. Just went on to realself for a quick glance and there seems to be some real positive stories.
could you tell me a little more about your experience? And would you have photos also? Thanks a bunch x

I wrote a little progress report elsewhere on post-Infini, which you can check out here: https://www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/372006-what-type-of-treatment-shoud-i-use/?page=2#comment-3575838
I'm sorry but I have no photos. It's bad enough to have these scars. I don't need to stand in front of a mirror reminding me how ugly they really are. But having spent years with these scars, "you just know" when there's a change.
@Sirius Lee - thank you for that, i appreciate the info! After searching around a bit i couldnt find many success stories for scarring
i saw 1 or 2 but the rest stated the improvement wasnt worth the cost. Ill keep looking into it though!
so, im booked in for my fillers thursday bloody hell im scared this is gunna be a waste of $600. I just wanted to quickly update pics of my skin normal and my skin stretched.. just to get clarification that people here think my scars are definitely suited to fillers before i go ahead! They are the type that disappear when stretched. Looking at them today made me realise they are sooo close to my skin surface.. (youd think theyd be easier to treat.. pfft!) i just hope they dont get overfilled!
@91baby You would definitely benefit from fillers. The downside is they're not cost effective in the long run. Unless you get a permanent filler like Bellafill, plan to top up every 6-9 months. Depending on the types of filler, they can range anywhere from $500 - $1000 USD per 1ml syringe. I would think it's pretty comparable in AUD. Good luck going forward!
@Sirius Lee thanks! Yea im definitely aware of it not being a permanent solution, ive chosen this route 1, to make sure i like the look of filler and 2, to raise the scarring to benefit from resurfacing treatments (like the tca peels i intend to do) so hopefully, with each top up, i get to a place where im happy enough with my skin to move forward.
Thank you!
@91babyHi there, Ive viewed this a few times over the past few weeks as i think you and I have VERY similar scarring ( i have a couple pics in a post if you view my profile). I meant to post on this thread sooner. I just wanted to say i think its awesome you have documented your whole journey and stayed faithful to it. I wish more people did this and provided pictures. I am so rooting for the fillers to give you the right results! I want to do the same procedures very soon. Hopefully within the next couple months. I am sort of doing things in a backwards order from you. Even though the majority of my scarring is from 4 years ago i still have lots of age spot/acne marks from it. So im getting ready to use TCA peels first to hopefully correct that, and help with the bad texture ( maybe the scarring itself too). I think weathered skin makes scarring look so much worse! If the test spot is a green light im going to document the results as well. Anyway, you seem so sweet in all your comments, I just wanted to say I am in the same boat and hope this works for you!

hey there @seattlegal90 i have literally been stalking this site since i was about 12 when it was just acne that i had.. (now 26!!) So im a firm believer in documenting, staying honest and giving advice/support wherever you can! Thanks for rooting for me haha i need all the support i can get. Im not sure how much subcision is where you are but i say give it a go.. theres no risk. The worst that can happen is no improvement.. but i believe subcision helps with collagen growth so i would definitely not call it a waste of money even if it doesn't give you the results you're after. IMO, subcision is a stepping-stone procedure.. its the beginning but not the end. I wish you all the best with your peels, ill be starting mine after the fillers this Thursday.. ill be sure to update with pics!
xx
Todays the day. Doc is running pretty late so i thought id calm my nerves by writing something LOL.. not helping. Ppplllleeeeeasssee god don't let this be a waste $600!!! Fingers crossed! Will update when im out eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek. My anxiety is through the roof. (The valium did NOT help)
So that was a lot less painful that expected. It just felt like subcision. And my face looks like I've just had subcision. She used 1ml and said that i wouldn't need any more. These pics are just to show what my face looks right after - i know there's swelling etc and will update as the days go on. Left side looks a ton better, right side is kind of disappointing as i can still see the 'line scars' which i thought would plump up even if it was just for a couple days. Time will tell though
@91babyThanks for the update girl! Its looking great! I hope it stays nice and plumped. Do you notice any skin irritation from all the injections? I still have acne prone skin despite everything ive tried. Ive accepted ill have a little zit here and there which is okay, but i dont want to cause a nasty breakout on top of scarring, that would cause deep pits. I am REALLY tempted to go have filler done, and use TCA after to work on skin texture/uneven skin tone. Anyway, thanks for sharing with photos! Wishing you lots of luck!
@Sirius Lee oh believe me i look in every lighting possible. I was in a changeroom today and those mirrors were the worst and i could actually look at myself and feel ok haha. The car mirror still showed shadowing but mostly on the right side, the left side is pretty smooth. I expected to see less improvement on the right side because the scarring is different. I think my right side will benefit mostly now from the peels. Ill take pics again next week once everything has settled
@seattlegal90 the filler caused the exact same side effects as subcision. So redness, swelling and bruising. But its like a 24hr thing. The swelling sticks around for a while longer but i was wearing makeup today no problems. It doesnt irritate my skin (no acne breakouts etc) but expect some red pin points where the needle is inserted.. which can look like acne.. but can be completely covered with makeup and they dont stick around too long. Honestly go for it girl, i bet youll see massive improvements going down that path! Thanks for the support mwahh xx
@91baby Thanks for the info! How many injection points do you think they did? Under a dozen on each cheek ? More? It looks great! i think im going to do this between now and January. Personally i wouldnt mind doing touch ups twice a year for the rest of my life.
@seattlegal90 umm i tried to zone out while she injected haha but i would say under a dozen on left and under a dozen on right. She actually stopped after she'd used 3 quarters and then just used the left over to top up areas. Now that the swelling has gone down i can see there was probably more needed in some areas that werent focused on. But i know it works for sure because one of my deepest, widest scars on my left cheek is completely skin level. I think i will go back sooner and do a top up (it will still be $600 because they HAVE to use 1ml, you cant ask for half.. boo) but im confident my left side will end up completely level after my second round. The right side didn't get the results I was looking for, sadly. My right side has completely different scarring so its not a huge shock it didn't work as well. Im thinking the tca peels will be the procedure to help on the right side.
I say go for it girl, seriously! Id say do it before you start peeling too! Fillers might be what you're looking for even without the peels! x
Just thought id give some update pics. Theres some of that 'yellow type' bruising that i dont care at all about and where the filler was put in it still feels hard but only under the skin. No lumps or nodules etc. I have some powder on as it makes the scarring more obvious than when i have no make up on.
@91baby I started replying to the other message earlier and my computer crashed lol. Its interesting i think the left side of my face will respond better to fillers than my right as well. I have rolling/shallow boxcars on my left side and deeper ( but fewer) boxcar/icepick and the texture is worse on my right side im hoping TCA will help with that and even my skin tone. It makes it look so much worse/obvious. Ive heard its pretty common for them to miss spots as the skin stars to swell and plump up from the injections/filler. I think your results look great! I think youre right if you go in one more time most of what is slightly visible now will level out. Are you satisfied with the results? Thanks for sharing!
@seattlegal90 hey hun - in all honesty, im not satisfied with the right side but i believe its because of the type of scarring. The left side is getting there but i will be going in once more for a top up before making up my mind whether to continue or not. And also going to start the tca peels once i've gone in for my top up i will keep updating !
@91baby
Not sure if my private message have sent so I write here 🙂 Did you got any further improvments and with what treatments? 🙂 Because I think my scars are very similar to yours 🙂 Maybe you're lucky and the filler shows also a few permanent results
@RobinFlor hi there i haven't recieved any private messages
i haven't done anything else since the filler, I'll be going back for a top up and then a tca peel in the new year. The filler only showed results in certain scars
