So, realized that Delna hasn't been on this bulletin i awhile haha...

Anyone that can answer my post above, please do =) Plus I had a few other questions..

1) I'll be combining my cleanser and the backing soda together. Since I'm doing this I don't need to put water in the backing soda right?

2) Am I able to prepare a few days worth or a weeks worth of the ACV and water together? Or will it get bad & won't be as effective?

3) When I go into the sun, I would just put my normal SPF lotion on as usual, I don't need to worry about anything on that level?

Thanks..

Please anyone answer =)

Baking soda dries my face like crazy and I have also tried ACV and didn't work quite well for me and it also made my face smell funny...which made my cousin laugh.

It is seriously hard to find a cleanser that cleanses well without drying your face. I recently bought a cleanser that works extremely well for me; it does a perfect job of cleansing my face without drying any part of the face. It foams very well too. You can email me or send me a message and ask me about it because it's not sold in the U.S.

(I personally think 99% of the cleansers in the U.S. do nothing but dry our skin)

Oh my gosh, you are a savior! I had been on Accutane for about 6 months, my face cleared up beautifully, just recently though it started coming back, and bad. I've been doing this exact regimen for only THREE DAYS, and my skin is clear as day again! I love you. This really works for me.

I've been using St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser.

I took off from work today.. and i attribute my need for solitude solely to the aggravated inflammated acne on my face.. i feel elated to have read this post and believe me, reading this has been the only thing in the day that has made feel any better about life in general!!!

So I will be trying out this regimen from tomorrow:

Morning

1. Cleanse using Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser (reads non comedogenic and non irritating on the label) with a teaspoon of baking soda - wash off immediately, pat dry.

2. ACV with water (1:8) - keep it on for 10 mins, wash off, pat dry

3. Moisturizer - Nuetrogena's oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin.

I dont apply makeup.

Evening

1. Cleanse, pat dry

2. Apply lemon egg white mask, keep for 10 mins, wash off, pat dry

3. Apply BP 2.5 gel.

Will post back the results. Keeping my fingers crossed, really need this to work!!

Off to the nearest wholefoods to buy the Baking soda and ACV. Wish me luck.. Amen..

Also, I noticed that Delna suggested this regimen in 2004, I was wondering if there was a way to check with her / others on the longterm effects?

Can you use the baking soda, vinegar, and egg whites while using Retin A?

I used Retin A in the evenings, but I was hoping that I could use the BS vinegar and egg white in the mornings.

My acne is under control, but I'm left with those ugly red marks and I was hoping this could help.

Thank you for your time.

I've been doing this for about 6 days and it seems to be working. My face feels so smooth. My have terrible scarring and red marks and the marks seem to be fading.

I had a really new bright red mark on my cheek and six days later it is now a nice pinkish color.

I've been doing this for about two weeks and it definitely faded some of my red marks, but it seems to have stopped working.. has anyone else experienced this?

I read this thing a few days ago, and decided to try it, so i went out and bought baking soda. I've used baking powder before, which exfoliates, too, but it burns a little. Baking soda didn't, not at all!

then i kind of forgot about diluting the acv, so i just poured some on a cotton ball and applied it to my face. then i figured I'd better check back to be sure, and when I read that it had to be dilluted, i almost panicked, but then I just went to wash it off.. I think it'll be okay haha. Or i hope so! (By the way, the apple cider vinegar SMELLS)

anyway, already my face is just so soft! Even the places with blackheads and tiny pimples, and that's never happened to me before! Usually, my problem-free areas are just very soft, but then my chin-area (where most of my problems are) is just irritated. Now I'm just worried about touching my face too much :D

So, I think that today, I'll go out and buy some egg-whites in those containers, because I'd hate to throw out a perfectly good egg-yolk, and I don't usually eat eggs, so...

but it seems that this regimen works for so many people, so I am excited to give it a go!

Hi Delna,

I'm currently trying out your regimen, and I've made a log about it. But just wondering, does this also cure acne or is it only to reduce post-acne marks? I had this mask that I would use for my acne, it really helped a lot, brought everything out to the surface. . . Is it ok if I use it along with this regimen or would it be too much?

Also, is your skin supposed to feel funny after washing off the egg whites/lemon mask? It feels like I haven't washed it off properly lol

Thanks a lot xxx

Hi Delna!

alright so you have probably already answered these question a many of times, but i dont want to go through 98 pages. hahha(:

first off, i use prescription duac, should i continue using this or should i stop when doing this? if so when should i do it?

second is this for curing/healing acne or is it for already cured acne and it just keeps it that way?

3rd of all how has progress been lately on this?

and lastly do you do the egg thing every evening?

thank youu! i really hope this works for me!

My derms told me i was moderately severe with acne. I'm on doxycycline now, starting 2 weeks ago, and i still have many cystic pimples although the demrs strongly suggested i go on accutane. They are smaller but i have many, but most of themarks on my face are those brown/red ones from after the pimple.

Am i allowed to use this 8 step thing while i stil have severe acne? and will it help or make my acne worse if i do it?

I use Pure Organic Aloe Gel for clearing up all the red spots. Do you of you use this? Its the greatest thing I have came across. I saw on the Fran Kerr site that it works for spot treating. Well I went out and got some. Bot my cheeks are one whole spot so I applied it all over both my cheeks. I didn't have to go anywhere for a couple days so I went and applied it every 2-3 hrs. I never rinsed it off. I just kept adding more. By the 3rd day, I only applied it once because there was NO more RED at all on my face. I am 38 and I've had acne since I turned 30. I have never had a day without a breakout or red on my face. This is an absolute miracle to me! Now I am doing the lemon and baking soda scrub morning and night, and keeping on the aloe for a moisturizer. I'm on day five and feel more beautiful than I have in years. I do not need to apply makeup today to go out today!!!!

Wow, this sounds great. I'm still currently using Dans Regimen and I'm just finishing up my 4th week, is this okay to try since I'm still currently using Dans Regimen? Or is there a certain amount of time I should wait before trying this? Someone please comment, thank you also for sharing your secrets. Everyone on here is great and helpful.

I'm glad this site is around. Have a good day everyone!

Hi guys, my first post here!

I want to share with you how this egg white mask really did wonders to my post-acne red marks.

my skin is the oily type, especially in the T-zone, acne-prone on my chin and cheeks.

about six months ago, there was a time when I had constant breakouts and they were all on the sides of my cheeks. it continued for months. it was terrible! but stupid me, I didn't really pay much attention to it and even squeezed most of the zits which really is a no-no!! :snooty: I strongly urge everyone NOT to do that!

anyways, I began to notice the conspicuous red marks on my cheeks. so I started looking up skin care products that could possibly help. I'd tried vitamin C applied topically and 10% alpha hydroxy acid, both of which did NOT help at all. alpha hydroxy acid left my skin REALLY REALLY dried up afterwards...my skin literally turned flaky.

Just when I thought I was out of luck, I stumbled on this thread and began applying the egg white mask. I think I've been doing it for almost a month now (as I'm typing I have the mask on!) and needless to say, it works!

my skin feels much smoother and the red marks are fading, slowly but surely!

note* I have only been applying the egg white mask, not the baking soda.

here's my routine:

morning:

cleanse w/ neutrogena oil-free acne wash

apply 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (Proactiv / neutrogena)

let it on for at 20 minutes at least before I go to school

apply neutrogena's SPF 15 sunblock lotion

afternoon:

cleanse w/ acne.org facewash *I don't do it everyday, only when I feel like my skin needs it*

night:

cleanse w/ neutrogena oil-free acne wash

mix egg white w/ honey and lemon juice. stir well. use a cotton ball to apply the mixture evenly on to entire face. wait for 10 minutes, wash w/ lukewarm water.

apply 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (Proactiv / neutrogena)

I started adding honey to my egg white mask since I just so happened to have plenty of it in my house, and because I've heard great things about honey, I thought why not give it a try. basically, you should add just enough honey that it gives a deeper, almost light brownish color when mixed well w/ egg white. and don't squeeze too much lemon juice, I usually just chop off a tiny piece off a lemon and squeeze around five drops (it really depends on how much egg white you use though).

my red marks have been fading for that I'm very happy. They're not completely gone yet, but I'm glad this homemade mask is working for me. I still get breakouts though, but it's nothing serious. I don't get red marks anymore or they just fade away quickly.

hope this helps!

also, I must stress that everyone's skin works differently...and I KNOW how frustrating it is when something doesn't work on you but works on others. Keep trying!!! Good luck!

Montana-

That's what I am doing. I am a guy, and I shave at night (every other day). So I cleanse, shave, baking soda, vinegar, moisturize at night. In the morning, I cleanse in shower, then do the mask, then wash off, moisutirze and go. It will work whether you do it in the am or pm.

I would like to try this regimen , BS+ACV+ acne cream + moisturizer, question is that can you provide me what brand of moisturizer and acne cream can i use?

so you do the mask every single night then?

also why not exfoliate with the baking soda as well?

Hello. WOW. I am so freaking happy I discovered this forum. Years have I been trying to exfoliate my skin and cleanse it. It just only got worse. I had good and bad days. More bad than good. It was depressing. Until I discovered baking soda. Baking soda makes skin better, worse, then better. You should only use it once per day but since I just recently started last week I use it like 2. lol.

I am wondering since I just bought Cetaphil tonight with SPF 50. Could I use L'Oreal Paris Men's Expert Comfort Max Anti-Irritation After Shave Balm, SPF 15, 3.3-Fluid Ounce

I use to use this when I was 20 an my skin was ever so soft. Then I stressed out months later an had big acne. Probably from depression.

I found out Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion For Dry, Sensitive Skin, from reading the Review on amazon it the best moisturizer they make.

The SPF ones are probably thicker since they have Titanium oxide an zinc oxide in them. I am a guy and don't wear makeup lol. So I doubt I need them.

So, please someone please reply and give me some advice.

Ironman22

Oh yea, I use Burt Bee's Facial Scrub with Royal Jelly and add baking soda. Apple Cider Vinager (Organic) (Braggs) after the cleanse plus exfoliate, Salicylic Acid, I think thats it.

Then a mosturizer.

Should I use the Egg white mask? I hear this helps keep pores tight. Thanks.

Hey,

I really want to try this but was wondering what you meant by 1:8(vinegar:water)

Thanks

one part water for every 8 parts of vinegar

meaning, use 1 ounce of water and 8 ounces of vinegar mixed together.

remember everyone's different though, i always use 100% ACV (apple cider vinegar). although most don't recommend it.

good luck ;]

I think you mean 1 part vinegar and 8 parts water.

I started this a few nights ago with the baking soda and did my first mask today. Skin looked great yesterday, but now my skin is so dry! It's getting white and flaky in places. Also starting to break out on my forehead and chin (problem areas). Perhaps this is because I use SA and not BP? Not sure this is for me :/ Going to go put more moisturizer on and hope my skin calms down. I think I may try the organic aloe gel that was mentioned- I'm tired of having to cover up scars with coverstick :/

The OP said to only put on the ACV for 5 minutes, and not to leave it on. I strongly disagree as do many other people. It takes time for that stuff to work. I put it on at night and leave it on until the morning a few times a week. It seems to restore natural color of the skin plus dry up pimples. I do about 50% ACV 50% water. It's not a cure-all, but works better than BP and is better for your skin.

Also, your skin is not supposed to experience "8 steps" of chemicals to be put on it daily. Most people will not react to this plan well at all. Try out a couple of these steps and see which works the best. Your skin will freak out if you keep tossing new things onto it throughout the day.

Does this work on red/dark marks that have been there for years?
