Can anyone recommend me a good mild cleanser? I'm currently using one which contains Salycilic acid and sodium lauryl sulfate and I'm not sure if this is considered to be a mild cleanser.

Another question regarding the egg mask. Can't I just crack the whole egg open and use all the egg white with lemon (and store what's left in a fridge)? Or does it have to be one tablespoon? Also can I put on the egg mask and then apply the cleanser? Please help...

okay so.. ive been doing ACV (without baking soda) for a little bit over a week... then i added baking soda like two days ago..

before baking soda, i definately saw improvement on my red scars. it REALLY REALLY REALLY faded. like 50% lighter than it was before i started ACV regimen. but i dont know what it is, i dont think it is my "time of the month" yet but after i started using baking soda, i got 4 new pimples...weird thing is.. i got em on the area where i NEVER had acne before :(

i also mixed less water with ACV when i started using baking soda to exfoliate and boy, it REALLY hurt... on the 2nd day (baking soda+acv), i knew my skin was irritated and something was wrong. the next day which is today, my skin does not look good at all. its very red, ITCHY and irritated a little. my skin was getting better before i used baking soda so i definately wont recommend adding baking soda to anyone's regimen. but then again, my skin may be different from urs so give it a try if you want.

weird how some people said ACV alone didnt make a difference but it did once they added baking soda along...hmmm. o_0

OH!! and seriously, people, leave some comments/feedbacks(negative, positive, whatever it is) after u try this out... for those people who are hesitant to try this regimen.

im skeptical about this since i use to do this when a while back. That was when i had a lot more acne, and it jus made my skin feel worse and over dried me a lot. But im scared to try it again since my face is 99.5% clear except for the tiny bump on my nose and the dew red marks i have. Do u think that baking soda will help with red marks? bc i dont really want to use the mask

i am very happy i found this regimen and i am very eafer to start, i dont have much acne left because i finished off a cucle of accutane and only geta pimple here or these

my main question is can i use all these steps on my backa nd chest as well? its more important to get the reddness off my body first because im more embarrased of that and with summer coming up i really want my skin to look good. anybody have any luck with using this on their body or has everyone just been using it on their faces?

Well after about 2 weeks on this I can say that:

- my skin tone is more 'even'

- pimples/cysts/other crap dry up and go away faster

But I don't know if any of the specific steps are responsible for particular effects, or if there'll be any long term benefits/improvement.

Sorry if this was asked in one of the posts but I just had some questions about this method. I was wondering what is the egg white that you use? I noticed when I hard boil eggs, I could see which part of the egg is the egg white but when people use the egg white, do they hard boil the egg and then use the egg white from that? In addition I was wondering if baking soda would be ok to use on a person who has sensitive skin? Would it cause irritation or be harmful?

Just a word of caution to people who have very sensitive skin and are thinking about trying the egg white mask- I have really sensitive skin and am pretty much allergic to everything I've tried on my face before but I didn't think I would have that problem with eggs. I used the mask for four days in a row before I noticed my pores starting to clog. It was the only thing I was using on my face at the time so I'm pretty sure that's what did it. I know have a skin infection on my cheek, like a cluster of whiteheads surrounded by red welts, it's not pretty. Hopefully it will go away with hydrocortisone but i learned my lesson. I hope it works wonders for everyone else though! I just figured I'd let people with sensitive skin know they should be careful cuz there's always a possibility for irritation.

i just shot around to the supermarket a bit earlier and bought some apple cider vinegar, wow it was only $2.30 for 1L ! cheap stuff. well i exfoliated with baking soda, then a bit later on i applied some apple cider vinegar, left it on for about 15-20 minutes, washed it off. now i just prepared an egg white/lemon mask and its currently drying. lets see how this regimen goes.

I'm just curious to all those who use it as part of their regimen, do you freshly make it every morning or night?

Or do you make a lot of it, put it in a bowl or some sort of a container and leave it in the fridge?

well now that im on school holidays, i have time to make it up fresh. its not that hard anyway. just cut a lemon in two, use one half for squeezing now, and then wrap up the other in glad wrap and store it in the fridge for the next day. i also use the egg white of 1 whole egg, i always have plenty left over though.

i think if its fresh its much much more potent, rather than pre-making and leaving it in the fridge.

I'm using BHA+AHA cream that I bought called Cleanance K by Avene.

I'm curious if I should use a baking soda mask to exfoliant or is it too much already?

I never really got what 1:10 ratio meant.

So like, if I wanted to put ACV in a container, would that mean, one cup of acv and like 10 cups of water?

on a side note, you can use the left over yolks as a homemade hair conditioner:

Has anyone tried the baking soda and acv on back / body acne? What were your results?

my aesthetician is just AWESOME!!! I had gone in for my second Silk Peel and we were talking abt various skin care mistakes for acne-prone skin... she told me that all u need for those red marks to go away is follow these simple rules.

morning...

1) cleanse with a mild cleanser for sensitive skin.

she says the concept of oily skin and using oily skin products for acne is wrong! oily skin products are best tolerated by ppl who have oily skin but free from breakouts. anyone who is doing ANY treatment for acne will have sensitive skin. so hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products are the best bet for them! this is because oily skin products strips of all the oils on skin..so the skin counter-reacts by producing more oil and hence more acne. those with breakout free oily skin...mm...the lucky few..r the only ones to tolerate this..P.Acne bacterium..why do u hate some ppl and leave the others alone??? WHY??? :boohoo:

2) exfoliate

avoid all scrubs..no matter how mild they claim to be. but how do we exfoliate, do u ask??? oh thats easy...and DIRT CHEAP too!!! 2 WORDS- BAKING SODA!

she says that she has not come across any acne-prone patients who has benefitted from scrubs. it may work for a while in some...lead to initial happiness..yeah, and then lead to final gloom when breakouts appear from everywhere...even the areas where it was break-out free in the beginning! SO NO SCRUBS PPL :naughty: .use baking soda instead... just make a paste out of baking soda and water...and massage very gently. wash immediately. u have to do this after cleansing. u may be able to extract some ripe or loose blackheads afterward. hey and never try to squeeze a blackhead if its not ready to come out...u will regret it!

3) tone to balance pH

now that baking soda is basic in nature..something acidic is needed to balance the ph. ANSWER? APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!

use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on.

4) apply ur acne cream..i use the Proactiv BP lotion. i use the amt Dan suggests for beginners...( edit: i switched to Neutrogena on-the-spot now). U can use ANY acne cream which suits ur skin. Dont skip this step.

4) Moisturise with SPF containing moisturiser. I use Cetaphil and it does not break me out. Look for the words sensitive skin, hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic WITH SUN PROTECTION FACTOR when u buy any moisturiser.

5) And for those who apply make-up, use non-acnegenic products containing titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. they r good for the skin too!

evening..

6) cleanse ur face ..( use baking soda and acv only once a day..morning or evening as ur preference)

7) apply a mild protein mask....till date..ive never found a mask that gives as good results as this mask..this is my aesthetician's favourite mask (btw..she has absolutely gorgeous baby-smooth skin and she told me that she had acne in her teens! hard to believe..!)

1 tablespoon of egg-white whipped up + a squeeze of lemon (dont put too much). smooth it over ur face..avoid eye area... wash off in 10 minutes....and look at a NEW REJUVENATED YOU!!

i tried this mask every day for 5 days....its AMAZING...my skin looks so refreshed! And bonus point is that done everyday...this will make the red-spots VANISH!!!

8) Apply ur acne cream before bed.

THATS IT!! JUST 8 STEPS FOR A HUGE BOOST IN YOUR CONFIDENCE!!

I am not kidding...there is a HUGE difference in my red-spots after just 5 days of this routine. I am going to stick to this routine. U guys ABSOLUTELY MUST TRY THIS.....

i will be glad to answer any questions regarding this....

TAKE CARE ALL OF YOU!!

well whats meant is for you to crack open an unboiled egg, and all the clear liquid is considered the egg white. just remove the yolk. you see, it turns white when its boiled or fried.

guys this has been asked a million times, and i still dont know the answer.

CAN I USE EGG WHITES FROM A CARTON????

i would feel horrible wasting all those yolks every day.

Hi Delna,

Thanks for sharing your routine. Will definately give it a try.

Previously before using BP, I was already using ACV. However I realised that using it together made my face way too red and irritated.. so i stopped

maybe because I RUB the ACV in.. so I will restart with very dilute ACV and smear it on instead.

I would also like to ask... "neosporin" is the sticker for scars? So I cut them to the required size and stick them on? Is it how its supposed to be?

And also.. I have some red marks and some active pimples.. so its OK to do this whole routine still right?

(since I read that we have to clear all the active pimples then do any scar repair works)

Thank you so much for helping!

To be honest the Baking Soda scares me but the egg white mask sounds interesting, I'm going to try the egg white thing first.

Has anyone just tried that and got good results?

EDIT to ask this. In the first post it says this

use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on.
