I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS THREAD IS STILL HERE
That's because the advice WORKS!
Hey everybody!
I just tried the baking soda scrub and the egg white yolk for the first time. I am VERY impressed with how clean, tight, and non-oily my skin feels!
When I used the baking soda paste, I could feel the waxy gunk coming out from from inside my pores and mixing with the baking soda. That was cool! Furthermore, baking soda is the most powerful, effective scrub I have ever used! It gives my L'oreal $20 stuff a run for its money.
I still need to get the apple cider vinegar. Nonetheless, this regiment seems very promising to me. I will keep everyone posted on my results!

Some people asked about how to do the egg mask. This is what I did:
1) Crack an egg and capture the yolk in one of the egg shells.
2) Let the egg whites drip into a bowl below. Add a squirt of lemon juice to the whites. I used lemon juice already in a bottle.
3) Beat egg with a whisk until frothy but not stiff.
4) Use clean, broad-bristled watercolor paintbrush and dipped it into the egg whites, then "painted" the egg onto my face.
5) As it dried for 10 minutes, it felt tight, but a "good" tight. I rinsed it off, and my face felt SO clean and not greasy anymore.
I would suggest using an actual lemon. Not the kind that comes from a bottle.
Ok, but why is that? It's all I had in my fridge at the time. Still worked great.
I have noticed that after the egg white has dried on my face, it looks like I have no pores (instead of big ones.) It looks GREAT and tight! Like I had Botox or a collagen injection. So I wore the egg white under my makeup one day with a moisturizer over it. My face looked really good!
Except the moisturizer made my face break out, but I have switched moisturizers now.
The baking soda gives me smoother-looking skin. I just bought some apple cider vinegar, so I will report back later with how it affects my red marks.
JeanneWahine, yes, the egg white shrinks the pores, which is great!
But, delna said leave the egg white mask for only 10 min. I think that your breakout might be due to you wearing the egg white mask under makeup, how long did you have it on?......what do you think?
Hope that ACV works for your redmarks...GOOD LUCK!
Hey, im new to this topic... ive tried the water dip method but it didnt work for me at all...
Ive tried this method for a few days and my skin feels nice and smooth... but the only downside is that ive broken out with a few pimples! I had just got the side of my face under control! Has this happened to anyone else? And did it clear up after a while?
Ive uses ACV before so i know it cant be that... does anyone think it might be the b/s as it draws out the gunk thats been sitting in our pores?

I'll get back to you on that one...
I have been using full strength apple cider vinegar for five days now while leaving it on all day. It does make my eyes water, but I dont care. The sides of my cheeks had bazillions of tiny zits thanks to a facial waxing from my spa from a month ago. The apple cider vinegar dried up these break outs in three days. Gone!
Red spots are still there, but at least not the pus-filled lumps that kept regenerating and never dried up.
I am very impressed with the results of apple cider vinegar and noted these observations:
1) Apple cider vinegar reduces zits very quickly by flattening the cyst/lump and turning it into a red crusty spot. Some zits flatten after an hour, some after a few hours. I have not had any deep acne in the past five days. Any breakouts I have had since on this regimen may have been due to a dirty makeup applicator brush. So I washed my applicator brush and well see if that was the source of the break-outs.
Still, the zits were tiny, at the surface, and came out easily. No cysts. Yay! Apple cider vinegar seems to seep way down into the pores and fight bacteria at the source to prevent the zit from forming in the first place.
2) Leaving on full-strength apple cider vinegar all day also makes my face peel the equivalent of a mild to medium glycolic peel. This is fine with me. But the lift time for the crusty spots (zits that are healing) is not as fast as the lift time of Retin-A .01% (strongest Retin-A available.) BUT, once they peel, the apple cider vinegar should prevent more breakouts.
3) After applying apple cider vinegar to my face with a cotton pad, my skin tone appeared more evened out and pretty -- especially on the skin where I am not broken out. The red marks do appear lighter. Ive got some serious scarring from before starting the apple cider vinegar regimen, but I will stay with it and see what happens.
Baking soda:
Baking soda is still a great exfoliant which removes the flaky skin caused by the apple cider vinegar. Makes my skin very smooth and soft. I put some in my palm and add some drips of water until its a manageable paste, then scrub for maybe 45 seconds or until I see the flaky skin coming off. It works great! Scrubbing can burn, though, so if youre super sensitive, be cautious with how long and hard you scrub.
Egg mask:
One egg white from a large size egg has lasted me seven days and theres still some left. I apply it with a small broad-bristled paint brush. It's like an instant face-lift.
I am very pleased with the results and will continue on this program while keeping everyone posted.
This is working great! Iave been doing this regiment daily since the first time I posted in this thread. I wish I had a camera for before and after shots!
I tried this regiment with just apple cider vinegar for a few days, but my results were much more dramatic with the baking soda and egg white steps added.
The baking soda really smoothed out my skin, like a sandpaper on a piece of wood. I use baking soda scrub twice a day. It's great for dried scabs that are ready to peel off. It also diminishes blackheads a lot: now only a teensy bit of gunk comes out when I squeeze a blackhead on my nose instead of a huge boulder of white gunk (eww --howas that for imagery, lol)
The egg white helps tone and dry up oil to help peel scabs off. One egg white lasted me a week. I put it in a bowl and covered it with plastic wrap and placed it in the fridge.
The apple cider vinegar I still use at full strength. I spray it on my face now instead of using a cotton ball because it sinks way down into my pores better. I always have apple cider vinegar on my face, 24/7.
The red marks have faded a lot. I still have them, but my skin tone looks a lot more even.
One thing slowed down my progress, and that was almond oil moisturizer. Worn under mineral makeup, my skin broke out into dozens of tiny zits. I think the mineral makeup was a conduit for the mineral makeup to slide down into my pores causing a zit. Not deep ones, but red teensy ones. When I stopped using the almond oil, my face cleared up immediately.
I got grapeseed oil instead, maybe Iall give that a go.
More later...
Oh yeah, and I've also been drinking green smoothies daily. (loaded with zinc, magnesium and vitamin C)
I drink half a liter daily of "Green Goodness" from Bolthouse Farms which is flash pasteurized. The nutrients are preserved. It tastes great!
I like how their apple/carrot juice drink is full of vitamin A -- like Accutane, but not a drug! Hey! lol...
So far, so good!
do u spot-treat the marks with baking soda and ACV? or apply to whole face?
also, if i choose to start out with 1:2 solution with the ACV, is that ok also? or will i get burn?
thanks in adv.
I use the baking soda and ACV all over my face, but you could spot treat the red marks if you want. I have been doing this regimen for about a month now (minus the egg mask) and it really makes your face smoother and gives it a more even tone. I would start out with more dilution and gradually work your way up just to be safe. Be careful around sensitive areas. I got a little too much ACV around the corner of my mouth and it left a red irritated patch of skin.
hey chasey
thanks for the info! i wasnt thinking of doing the egg mask as well because its just too much of work. i'll start out with more dilution then. one question really bothers me though, since u have been doing this regimen for about a month, have u actually seen any improvement on the red marks at all? or did it just smoothen up your face? hope that little redness of yours will heal soon. please do reply soon!
"use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on."
What do u mean by 1:8 ? or "Never applyit neat.:?
Also for Step 1, Im assuming i can just use my neutral soap bar instead of the cleanser right?
Also, is the toner really necessary? i didnt see any difference when i used to use it a long time ago...........

I think it has helped, but it has taken some time and I think I still have a long way to go to fade the marks completely. At first I wasn't sure if it was working. I thought it was just because the rest of my face was more red after the ACV, so it blended in. But I have noticed in the past week that it takes just a bit of concealer to cover my red marks. I only have a few marks in one spot, but they bug the heck out of me! I had a breakout there in September after my grandmother fell and was in the hospital, then she was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimers.. it must have been from all of the stress. I also got a terrible stomach virus and didn't drink any water for a while, so that probably didn't help. Anyway, stick with it, and be patient. Oh, I have found that the ACV fades my teeny tiny red marks from smaller zits quickly! I also started drinking ACV (I have no idea if it is helping yet). We'll see what happens! Let me know how things go for you on this regimen!

Hey everyone,
This regiment has worked very well for me since I first posted in this thread. I used it just this morning.
There were a few times when I did break out minimally. I discovered it had to do with: a) mineral makeup which contained bismouth, and b) a dirty makeup brush.
Solution: I switched from Bare Essentuals to Everyday Minerals, and I wash my makeup brush with my face cleanser before I use it each time.
I also experimented with this regiment: I left out the egg mask step for a few days, then left out the baking soda step for a few days. Without the egg mask, my face did not seem nearly as toned and radiant, and without the baking soda scrub, my whiteheads came back and complexion became dull. Conclusion: all of these steps contribute to prettiest skin I can have.
I always follow up this regiment with this moisturizer: 3 drops of grapeseed oil mixed with 5 drops of lavender oil. It's not the "be all end all" moisturizer out there. It just one that works for me.
I got the grapeseed oil at the healthfood store. It came in a huge bottle, so I poured some in a small travel-size squirt bottle. I "painted" the mixture onto my skin with that brush I use. It does not look greasy at all. It does not make me break out like the almond oil did. Ladies: it looks great under makeup and helps it go on smoother!
Red marks: I confess, I have been using 4% hydroquinone to help with the red marks. It works great at fading red marks! But it is a chemical product; however, I will be experimenting with Bio Oil to eliminate red marks when it arrives in the US this March.
I did the egg mask last night and my skin felt AMAZING afterwards!
I've been using ACV for 3 months now and honestly, it only fades fresher, smaller marks. My old marks are still there, but I like it so I'm continuing using ACV anyway.
I also just tried the baking soda this morning. Can't tell I difference yet really. I have high hopes though!
Hey delna!
I cant find any acv around my stores, so i was wondering if i could use fresh lemon juice as my toner instead, like would it hurt more than help? and is it bad to use two other facial washes WHILE on this regimen? b/c in the morning and when im taking my makeup off i use aveeno foaming wash and at night i use AcneFree, before i do all the other stuff.
thx!
Thank you soooo much for telling everyone about this wonderful regimen. ive been using it for 3 days and my skin is smooth now. My skin no longer feels like a rocky road or sand paper, its actually smooth! I have seen a slight improvement in my red marks, but not a lot. But sstill an improvement in the texture of my skin is something to be greatful for. your awesome
