first i have to say..DELNA! youre awesome for sharing your story and for being so diligent about answering everyones questions the best you can!

second, on the accutane issue: im on accutane atm, have been for around 8wks. before i started, i did a lot of reading up, and came across quite a few journals that recommended st. ives apricot scrub. all mentioned it was extra mild strength, or something along those lines, however they found success w/ this product and it was a scrub. additionally, ive used a scrub once (biore's mild daily), and didnt have any negative effects, even thought i have extremely sensitive skin. so, id think that using the baking soda should be safe, as long as its not applied aggressively. im personally considernig testing it out, although id cut the vinegar and instead wash w/ what i usually use: a mixture of cetaphil and neutrogena acne wash (contains salicylic acid, i know, its irritating, but i only use a little bit of this, as it really agrees w/ my skin). my rationale is: baking soda is a base, salicylic acid is an acid, the neutralization reaction that occurs between the baking soda and the ACV occurs here as well, so the same redmark fading effects could very well be simulated. any comments on this are welcome.

well I tried this yesterday and it is a bit of work, but i like it. anyway i was just browsing the internet for all this shit and the egg white lemon thing came up quite a bit. all good review too so delna you hit it on the head. anyway most of the literature said a month and you will see the best results. ha not bad, wish i did this instead of retin a micro(made my face worse than its ever been) and this would be over by now, but we all make mistakes. anway thanks for regimen and good instructions we will see what it can do because, i dont have any need for presc in my life they are too harsh and otc products never seem to do it. anyway good luck to all and starting tonight no more picking touching etc. i ll just let it go. got nowhere to go but up hill from here, so i hopel.

oh yeah and if you are all worried about breaking out personally i dont think any of the things in this will cause that since they are all natural and not harsh, i suse tea tree oil cleanser too. but what possibly could is dryness and as much it is stress just moisturize, espec if u live like i do and winter is coming on strong now. i use aloe vera staright out the plant and then something with and spf during the day.

may this be the answer

will any part of this help me with the flesh colored bumps/blackheads??

and i quit retin a micro last week after like 3 weeks, will this hurt me and cause worse scarring(the baking soda paste)?

may this be the answer finally

Delna,

my skin isnt irritated, dry from reting a micro now that i stopped it at all. the only think it did was leave me with red marks thats whay i want to do this. so someone said this method will worsen the scars, marks whatever you wanna call them while on retin a. but im not on it anymore and as soon as i came off it the dryness and all the redness side effects went away. so i would like to do this since the vinegar is diluted and on ur face for ten minutes only. plus the post said dont use the baking soda scrub, that would worsen the scarring. maybe ill just do that every other day or something. been using the vinegar for like a few days hasnt worsen it

so maybe ill be fine because i like the regimen.

thanks

but omg my forehead looks SO much better now, the discoloration is fading before my eyes! (one week)

Does anyone know if you can do the baking soda and vinegar and the egg/lemon mask all at night? I just don't have time to do it in the morning. I can wash with a gentle cleanser in the morning, but I wanted to know if I can do the rest all at night. Please someone help!!

hey delna...this looks quite promising...im definitely gonna try this.

2 questions. Can i use lime instead of lemon in the egg white mask? Cause i have all the ingredients with a lime tree and im too lazy to get a lemon at the supermarket. can i just use the lime from the lime tree?

this may sound dumb...but i wanna be sure...how do i exactly measure the ratio(1:8) of the ACV with water?

ontheroad...yep...give it a shot! smile.gif keep us updated.

punkrockprincess, i kinda like ur theory abt neutralization that occurs when u use B.soda and salicylic acid biggrin.gif ...makes sense. but since u r on accutane, the last thing u want is do something wrong and then regret it. Pls do a test patch on ur arm first, then behind ur ears, and lastly on a small part of ur face before u use it all over. take care.

RIsurfer...do u think the retin A micro caused u the redness??? or is it from ur previous pimples? if its from retin A, ur skin is very sensitive. dont haste, take it slow. i wd suggest u to wait some more time before using b.soda and ACV, even if ur skin feels normal. u can do the mask for now...it will help get ur skin soft...also moisturise well. Eventually, when u do start ACV, dilute it really good...maybe 1:10 or more. u can test the concentration by tasting it. it shd have only a very faint sour taste the first time. if redness occurs and lasts for a long time, stop doing it atleast for 2 days..and start again with a weaker solution. GOOD LUCK on ur way uphill!!!

fantasyclover, vinegar evens out ur skintone. its normal to look lighter. UR MARKS ARE YOU MEAN LIKE...GONE?? eusa_clap.gifeusa_dance.gifeusa_dance.gif

cin110..yep u can.

monev..u have a lime tree???????..im soo..jealous!!! biggrin.gif u can use lime or lemon.

i have read somewhere that when selecting limes choose those that are firm and heavy, this means they have lots of juice.

take 1 tbsp ACV...mix with 8 tbsp of water.

I WISH YOU ALL A GREAT THANKSGIVING WEEK.....................DONT LET YOUR ACNE OR RED MARKS RUIN IT FOR YOU......Just forget them and acne.org (for this week atleast smile.gif ).. AND HAVE A BLAST!! TAKE CARE!!!

When you say wash after applying the baking soda paste and then the ACV, do you mean just use water to remove them or do you mean use cleanser again? Thanks!

Urgh...i just tried this method yesterday with my new moisturizer (Olay total effects which was also bought yesterday).

Today, i seem to be getting tiny pimples with pus at the side of my nose! The tip of my nose also seems very red and it looks like a new pimple forming. sad.gif

Could it be the Baking Soda/ Egg(is it possible i added too much lemon?) or the Olay causing this? (I've been using Vinegar for quite awhile now so vinegar doesn't seem likely)

I love the Baking Soda as a mild scrub, but i don't get along too well with ACV even very diluted....obviously i need something to balance the ph do you feel a toner containing salicylic acid would do this?

has the baking soda helped anyone with their closed comedones. i have small little flesh colored bumps? i think i have actually seen some of them opened after showering and using the scrub, but i was just wondering if anyone had this help with theirs?

seems like it would

oh yeah and i know people say organic acv is the best but i looked at the one i have and its from stop and shop, my mom had it lying around. the ingredients said:made from the juice of apples diluted with water to 5% acidity. then i diluted it 50/50 so is this cool? doesnt have any other aditives

well im tryin it tonight.....so ill let u guys know how it goes. im doin everything tonight though, so i really hope thats ok.....the only thing is though, i dont have any lemons, but ive done an egg mask before and it made my skin so tight and soft. so im pretty excited.

the only thing that concerns me is the bleaching of the skin. i dont really have a lot of red marks, but this just sounds like a great plan for any skin type really.....i mean i do have acne, in fact im goin on accutane on friday (thats y i wanted to try it now, lol) but back to my point.....i have olive skin, and before when i was using all those crazy acne products i noticed that my skin became like super white! and it was crazy, and once i started using gentler products, i got my normal skin tone back, with somewhat of a glow, but nothing like before.....so im just hoping the same thing wont happen, but then again u did say the mask would give u a glow, so im pretty pumped about that!

so ill let u guys know how it goes tonight! hopefully all goes well!

oh and by the way delna, thanks for the great recipe! lol.....it sounds like it really is working for people!

and btw...just to make sure

what do u mean by 'never apply it neat'?

"use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on."

Delna, me and my friend like to tan once a week, is this not good for this type of regimen, should I just drop the tanning thing all together? Does this regimen make your face pale or lighter, because thats mostly why I tan? Because bp makes my skin whiter.

Also are you sure this regimen isnt too much for the skin to handle? I mean the vinegar once a day is one thing, but doing them both everyday? It just seems like too much in my opinion, but i could be wrong.

Is there anyway I could substitute egg whites that you buy in the carton to 99% real egg whites you get in the store thats in a milk carton thingy. Someone on the topic said this and it sounded like a good idea!

I am very excite to try your regimen tommorow morning! Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey bud, I think its best not to moisturize the nose at all, unless its really dry from treatment. The reason why is because the nose gets real oily with moisturizer and thus causes spots. I tried the egg/lemon mask loast night and it felt crazy tight when it dried but my face was really looking/feeling good afterwards. I think Ill continue this.. Thanks!
