Is it absolutely necessary to apply acne cream during the process? Because I don't do that and am unsure about beginning it now, my acne isn't too bad, I don't have any cysts, but I do just have little bumps that mess up the flat surface.

So what are the ramifications if I don't apply the acne cream?

Thx in advance.

You probably should keep up with the acne cream. I still use BP, I just don't moisturize at night (so I don't slather it on at night either, that would give you what I call a "BP peel").

Just exfoliate with the baking soda, don't leave it on 10 minutes. I find it easier to do the baking soda, ACV, and egg mask at night, when I have more time.

Everyone, it is important to listen to your skin. Don't do something that you feel will damage or over-irritate unless you have another goal in mind. If something makes you break out, then don't use it! I find the baking soda, ACV, and egg mask to be great with the BP. Also, don't do it for a few days and whine about it not working. It takes a good month usually to see any real results from topical treatement. Your skin didn't get scars, bumps, and red marks overnight, so don't expect it to go away overnight either.

Delna was kind enough to share what works for her, and it took a slight amount of tweeking for it to work for me too, as I am sure it will for most people.

Don't you all just love how some people can eat whatever they want, and do whatever they want to their skin, and it will look flawless? !*&^!@#$^!~!!!

Thanks a lot rush for making this clear. I mentioned this earlier on the boards and i told everyone that it doesnt necessarily mean if you do something a couple days earlier, then you get a pimple because of that thing you did. i have been seeing this a lot on this thread. Red marks on the other hand is a different story...

ok everyone!

havn't posted in awhile because i've been away from the computer, busy with my band recording, etc. Anyways, my dermatologist appt. is scheduled for mid march but my pediatrician altered my regimen. He put me on Minocycline 100g two times a day, Duac in the morning, and Retin-A at night.

He's a retard, and after doing some reading i cut the Duac out of my regimen because if BP is used with Retin-A (Duac has 5% BP in it), Retin-A has no effect. So now I'm on Mino and Retin-A at night. I have no BP in my regimen whatsoever and my skin is basically clear.

I'm peeling like a bitch at the moment, worst that I ever had, and I purchased two new things toda: Alba Aloe and Green Tea Moisturizer (lady said it wont be greasy, thank god) and i'm using Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleansing Bar now instead of Johnson and Johnson Purpose. Hopefully all this stuff wont make me dry.

MY RED MARKS ARE STILL HERE, FULL FORCE. Sons of bitches.

My question for you guys is, can I fit Delna's regimen back into my current Regimen (see my signature to see what my regimen is) and do something like alternating B.S.+ACV and Egg White Mask every other night, or can I do B.S.+ACV+Egg White Mask everynight, or should i just stay away from that stuff alltogether?

Sorry for making this post so long and thanks for your help biggrin.gif

Egg white and lemon??? Wont that just run offf your face?? Because they are both very runny arnt they so they'd not stay on your face for long.

can this regemin be used on the back where i have the worst hyperimpignation(soz bout spellin). My marks arnt red they are like brownish and cover quite a big area.(its weird they are brownish because i am a white person) Any ideas???

Every day I used to do an egg yolk and lemon juice mask (left on about half an hour). Then I would put the egg white on (yes goes itchy and tight and dries fast and I am not gonna even say what it looks and kinda smells like biggrin.gif ) and leave that on overnight.

It was a fair amount of hassle but my skin was very soft and glowing. I don't recall it ever doing anything for my red marks (I did it every day for at least a month or two). This is going back a few years now. I think I stopped cos it was a hassle etc.

I did apple cider vinegar every day for some months, not sure that ever did a great deal for my red marks either. The bentonite clay and vinegar face mask was nice for leaving skin soft and clean feeling, quite hardcore tho when the vinegar gets drawn deep into your skin.

Maybe my red marks are more stubbon than most peoples?? I have very pale skin and they tend to stay very prominent for some years, and take 5+ years to be nearly gone.

sorry masterbrownie, not sure if it would work on the back, but it wouldnt hurt to try.. eusa_think.gif

does anyone know if all 4 ingred. can be used at night? i work early and dont have time to do much of anything in the AM but wash and moisturize..

for example could i wash at night, (using the baking soda) then apply the vinegar, rinse, then do the egg white/lemon mask? i know Delna explained doing the BS, vinegar in the am, then the egg and night. has anyone been doing all at once?

I do it all at night. In the morning, I just wash, BP, and moisturize. In the evening, I wash, BS, ACV, egg, green tea, BP.

well most of the time i do add BS to my soap in the am, because my makeup goes on more smoothly. but i dont have time to apply vinegar, wait 10 mins, rinse then apply egg and wait again. if i didnt work, maybe! plus the vinegar stinks and kinda lingers.

I hardly have time in the morning either, so I just do the time consuming stuff in the evening at some point. Also, know what your skin can take when it comes to how long you can/should leave the ACV on. My skin can take a lot, so for example, I could leave pure ACV on all night and have no problems, or I could use a really harsh cleanser if I were so inclined. However, not everyone is that way, and what someone else can do might totally destroy my complexion. Know your strong and weak points when it comes to treating your skin; only you can figure those out.

i do have pretty sensitive skin but the ACV doesnt bother it at all, its strange, i was really surprised. i have actually fallen asleep without rinsing and my face was fine wheni woke up

RayRay...i too also do all at once at night. I figured it was ok because i found a link that said to basically do it all at once. I have been on this reg for about a week. My results are unclear...It looked as if my skin cleared up on the weekend but was bad on the weekdays. so i think im going in the right direction. I will post back later. Wish me luck

I am having somewhat mixed results right now too. However, it has only been a week, so I can't really tell at all if it is working or not.

Has anyone done a poor job of taking the BS off when putting on the ACV? I recall it really burning and stuff. I will take it this is the reaction from the acid and base. *shrug* At least it didn't cause a green gooey explosion (Simpsons). eusa_eh.gif

i think i read earlier in this post that there is no reaction when vinegar and BS are mixed, so that shouldnt be it. But be sure to rinse thouroughly anyway, i use the BS in the shower at night, so i dont have that problem.

i did notice that applying vinegar after any kind of treatment is not good. i did a Neutrogean Chemical Face Peel application yesterday during the morning then applied vinegar after my shower last night - and my face turned bright red and i had blotchy red marks all over my face and neck. it was scary! it went away tho overnight.

Poi-

Your doc is not a retard as he wanted you to use Duac in the AM and Retin at night. If used TOGETHER/SAMETIME then yes it may lead to a problem.

As for that reg in general I would slowly add Retin A in over two week period. Try spacing the Retin A out; every three days, then everyother day, etc. I know everyone wants fast results and such but its not going to happen. Better to take it slow as it is SO much easier to correct and see what works and doesnt... Dont add Delna reg as you will be OVER exfoliating and could lead to irratation or worse more acne. Its overkill. Retin exfoliates and Duac kills p. acne, plus your on mino which kills p.acnes, give that sometime and then go from there
