Delna,
This regime seems cool, however I have a couple of questions myself. First I should say that I'm battling dark brown marks not red marks and I'm currently using mandelic acid(AHA that exfoliates, helps control acne and fade marks). I'm interested in this regime due to the fast results people seem to be getting however I don't know if its appropriate to use with mandelic and when should i use it in my regime?
I currently use a gentle cleanser, put mandelic and then moisturize. I figured that what i could do is cleanse, do baking soda, apply mandelic then moisturize(morning). I would skip acv b/c mandelic is acidic in itself so ph balances. What do you think?
Also, I'm confused what exactly fades the red marks is it the egg mask or the BS and ACV combo? Anyone else with success story?
hey, i have stubborn acne and as i said earlier in the thread i am using antibiotics (my first course). does delnas regieme help active acne (if u get me) or is it just good for those who have had acne and are trying to get rid of the red scars. i do have some red marks from previous spots and they have been there for quite some time now. if i do start this regieme, should i apply my topical (isotrexin) last thing at night before going to bed (after the mask) thanks xxx

Delna, your regimen is GREAT! ..i don't have any acne now..but the red marks left from acne is making me look as if i have acne
...however after i use your regimen the marks have faded from bright red to light red...it isn't so obvious now..but when pple are near me they still can see it
....i wonder can this regimen fully fade the red marks?...as in no more red marks
....how long does it takes?....btw i have been using this regimen for about 3 weeks...i apply the baking soda, vineger and the egg white mask all at 1 go...hope to hear ur reply soon
...may god bless you!
i've been using delna's regiment for about 2 days and althought i haven't noticed the red marks fade yet (i know it takes time) i've noticed my skin complexion is smoother and more glowy. My red marks are also not as bright red as before.. I love the egg mask.. it feels really really cool. I'm gonna keeping doing this regiment for a full month or two and hopefully the red marks will fade , even if they dont fade i feel these ingredients are really good for my skin and talkabout how dirt cheap it is. I altered the regiment abit too, i dont use the BP at all because i only have like 2 tiny pimples and i dont wanna stress my skin. I feel the more natural stuff i put on my face the better it is.
hey guys, im really glad that everyone is having success on this facial regimne. i have scars and red marks ...and i was really excited to try this out!
i did it for four days, and my skin looked really amazing. the redness went down about 30percent in that short amount of time..but unfortunatley i also noticed small break outs appearing. by the fourth day i was full fleged broken out (
i know that i have sensitive skin, and that somethings dont work for me the way they do for other people. another reason i might of broken out is because i skipped the BP step because i'm allergic to BP and cannot use it. so i think it's really important not to skip any steps.
i wish i could continue with this because the redness on my face has decreased dramatically! But thank you delia, for sharing your knowledge and helping so many people.i just want people to know that it could break you out if you skip the BP step.

Hello, i'm new to this site, funny how i got here: saw on cartoon about baking soda helping acne, typed it in to google, got this message board.
I tried reading as much posts as I can, but It's very long! I'm hearing that it works for some while it doesn't work for others, but I'd really like to give it a try.
I have some questions regarding the process and hope you guys can help me with them... I understand it's been 3 months, but hopefully those who have tried it can post 3 month results. In addition, tips and suggestions on top of Delna's routine would be highly appreciated.
Questions from the steps:
1) cleanse with a mild cleanser for sensitive skin.
she says the concept of oily skin and using oily skin products for acne is wrong! oily skin products are best tolerated by ppl who have oily skin but free from breakouts. anyone who is doing ANY treatment for acne will have sensitive skin. so hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products are the best bet for them! this is because oily skin products strips of all the oils on skin..so the skin counter-reacts by producing more oil and hence more acne. those with breakout free oily skin...mm...the lucky few..r the only ones to tolerate this..P.Acne bacterium..why do u hate some ppl and leave the others alone??? WHY???
Hey everyone, I'm having minor problems with the protein mask and was wondering if you guys could maybe help me out.
Anyways, we don't have any eggs in the house, so I went to Vons and I got a little 16 oz. carton of Papetti Foods All Whites 100% Liquid Egg Whites. They're straight liquid egg whites, nothing else. Anyways, they're pasteurized if that matters.
My first question is:
Are liquid egg white's O.K. to use?
My second question is:
It says on the side of the carton "After opening, use within 7 days." I know there is no way I'm going to be able to use 16 oz. of liquid egg whites in 7 days. I'm keeping it refrigerated, but after 7 days am I going to have to throw it away?
I'm also having an extremely hard time "whipping" up these liquid egg whites to make them frothy. I tried putting a tablespoon of the liquid egg whites into a bowl, and using a fork tried to whip it up. First of all, a tablespoon basically doesn't show up in the bowl, and I'm literally just scraping the bottom of the bowl. I end up just shaking the carton which causes it to froth up and then squeezing it onto a tablespoon before applying it to my face.
My third question is:
What is the best method to go about whipping thise liquid egg whites?
After I have the frothed egg whites on the spoon, and all over the bathroom because I shook up the stupid cartoon, I put a couple drops of lemos juice on it. I bought the fake, plastic looking lemons with lemon juice in it.
My fourth and final question is:
Is it O.K. to use that type of lemon juice, not from straight lemons but from those plastic containers?
Go ahead and number each answer if it helps you respond better. Sorry to make this such an exam for you, I promise its easier than midterms. Thanks everyone for helping me out, can't wait to hear from you all.

hi guys..sorry for the delay in replying...it had been a busy week..
freakit..vinegar is a natural AHA. but since its natural it may not be as strong as mandelic acid but will give u the same results eventually and wont harm ur skin. so if u want to try this regimen with acv, then u have to put ur mandelic acid aside. on the other hand, if mandelic A is helping u, no need to change. u can try the routine which u mentioned without the acv. try the egg mask too. it will fade ur marks faster.
zerglings..dont cleanse ur face too often. it will dry it out. once in the morning and once at night is enough. u r cleansing it after school. theres no need to cleanse it again before u sleep, unless of course, u apply make-up, in which case u HAVE TO cleanse before bed. if not, then remember that egg white mask cleans out ur pores...it makes ur skin squeeky clean..so just wash that off and apply ur acne cream before bed.
heyitssarah, u can use this regimen if u have active acne. just make sure u r very gentle when exfoliating with b.soda. u can use ur isotrexin after the mask. but if ur skin is irritated or peeled off after isotrexin, then avoid the vinegar. vinegar shd only be used on non-irritated skin.
hi doll, thanks a lot! ! congratulations!! dont worry, it wont be long before all ur marks fade...u just need to have a little patience with this regimen...but believe me, it will pay!! i went to a dinner party yesterday...and one of my friends who hadnt seen me for a month just screamed..."HOLY MOLLY.....WHATEVER HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOUR FACE DELNA....IT LOOKS SO CLEAN!!" I was pleased as hell
!! I told her that my secret is b.soda, vinegar and eggs...and she goes, "WHA THE.....!!!"
So just keep up the good work..soon u will receive compliments too!!
ayekyi...KEEP THAT UP, girl !!
rachelgreen..or jane...u dont have to use bp..u can use any acne cream with this regimen. anything which helps u. i have just 3 words to say..
DONT
GIVE
UP............. !!!
mz_tinkerbelle..this regimen is esp. for red marks but it will keep active acne at bay too, in the process, because of its cleansing routine.
CHUMP...SORRY FOR WRITING IN CAPS....BUT I WANT TO EMPHASISE THIS AND HOPE THAT YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO FELL INTO THE APRICOT SCRUB TRAP READS THIS...THIS STUFF IS THE WORST THING U CAN PUT ON UR FACE..IT WILL CAUSE BREAK-OUTS IN PLACES WHERE U WERE CLEAR..IT IS A HARSH IRRITANT..AND THOSE WHO FEEL THIS HELPS THEIR ACNE...GOD BLESS THEM...COZ IT WILL BE TOO LATE BEFORE THEY REALISE THEIR FACE HAS BECOME 100 TIMES WORSE THAN IT EVER WAS...PLEASE STOP...IT HAPPENED TO ME AND A LOT OTHERS HERE. ANY HARSH SCRUBS LIKE APRICOT SCRUB CAN ONLY BE TOLERATED BY PEOPLE HAVING NORMAL SKIN.
for ur sensitive skin, try Dove hypoallergenic soap for sensitive skin. then exfoliate with b.soda paste(just a teaspoon or less mixed with a few drops of water) and wash immediately. mix apple cider vinegar with water and apply. 'never apply it neat' means do not apply acv without diluting with water. the proportion of vinegar and water is something u have to try and find out coz different ppl can tolerate different concentrations..some can even tolerate without dilution (which i wdnt recommend). but first try a patch test before using any product (even natural) to make sure u r not allergic. for ur acne cream..try neutrogena OTS. its good. dont use a high concentration. 2.5% is ideal for bp. use the same thing at night before bed, moisturiser is necessary, im afraid. i use dove essential nutrients with spf 15 for sensitive skin. its very good and does not make my face oily. u can get it at wal-mart. its better if u space up ur cleansing routine with b.soda/vinegar and ur mask. this way ur face will be clean twice a day. so if u r doing b.soda/acv in the evening, do the mask in the morning and vice-versa. hope this helped some. good luck!!
jonaas...moisturiser is not a bad thing..in fact when ur skin is well hydrated, it will help fade ur marks faster..thats why i stress on using moisturiser..ive been scared to moisturise too..but when i started using it i found out that it helps make my skin look healthier and fades the scars a lot faster. try dove essential nutrients for sensitive skin. and 'username' is right..when u r using acv, u MUST moisturise..or it will dry out ur skin.
I've just started this yesterday. I stumbled across these boards on google, and loooked at this thread. I've had persistent acne for about 3 years now. My major problem now though is the redmarks left behind. So I'm going to try this and see how it works. Thanks and I'll keep y'all posted.
Delna you are truly a godsend. I have been using your regimen for only 3 days but amazingly, i have yielded extrodinary results which were beyond even my wildest expectations. As the next person with a naturally pessimistic feeling towards your regimen or any other one for that matter, i wasn't really hopefull.
This perticular regimen is fantastic in so many ways. I finally found something that might truly be the right piece to fit the puzzle. After what felt like being in a tunnel with no light in sight sorting through different regimens and trying all the over the counter products just to countinue going around in circles. I wouldn't have ever imagined using something so basic like baking soda as an exfoliator would drastically improve the complexion of my skin. Boy was I wrong. I was using a common over the counter exfoliator that i bought at a local drugstore and all it was doing was increasing the irritation in my skin. It was abbrassive and just not doing what it was supposed to do without causing more harm than any good. The cost difference between b.s and the exfoliator is very great. I love the fact that b.s is more affordable. ACV is a great toner and used moderately helps greatly. The smell can get irritating quickly but it's effectiveness makes it all worthwhile. I love the way I can feel the acv softly tingle against my cheeks as it gives me reassurance that it is doing it's job. However, the best part of the whole regimen in my personal opinion is without a doubt the egg white mask. I just love putting this mask on every evening because it makes my skin look flawless. After using this mask i can actually notice how much softer, smoother, youthful my skin becomes. I like the tightning feel of it as its applied to the face. Again, this to me is another indication of it helping clean my pores and just overall cleaning my face till it sparkles. I would strongly urge anyone who hasn't tried this regimen to consider using it. Whats there to lose? I plan on continuing to use this regimen until all my red marks are gone because it has been a lifesaver for me. I honestly didn't think it could have as dramatic an impact as it has clearly had on my complexion.
Delna you don't know how much you have helped me.
Thanks a million
