Delna,

I heard about that tragedy as well. It is truly a sad case and something that is completely out of our control unfortunetly. What a disaster. Same thing is suppose to happen to LA and Vancouver eventually. That creeps me out. I have a lot of friends in BC. confused.gif

Anyway, I know this may be a bad time but I am one of the many people that still has questions for you so here I go. Don't worry about replying right away because I'm giving my skin a week's break before trying your regimen. I was just gonna use Dove soap by itself for 7 days before doing it. Ok, here are the questions...

1. For the on-the-spot treatment, can I use pure tea tree oil or would it be better to get a drugstore cream containing BP or SA (such as something by Neutrogena or that newer one by Clean & Clear)? On the tea tree oil container it says to apply to wounds 3 times a day only for a week so obviously that wouldn't apply to acne and I'm just wondering which would be the better route?

2. My skin is really really sensitive so I was thinking I would dilute the ACV starting at 1:12. I was just wondering how you measure each ratio? Is it teaspoons or what? I'm pretty sure you mentioned that already somewhere but I am soooo sorry I can't find the page...there's too many! lol.gif

3. Is this really good for blackheads too? I've had TONS on my nose since forever and they just won't go away. My nose is the oiliest part of my face and its so disgusting. Do you think I should get mild peels once a month for maintence while doing your suggestions as well? The only problem with glycolic peels is that they made my skin REALLY red so I want something really mild. I don't know if I should bother... doubt.gif

K, sorry for all that! You're really great for replying to everyone though so I look forward to hearing your responses. Thanks. biggrin.gif

apriliarsv..b.soda is an exfoliant...it does the same job as ur glycolic acid cleanser. ACV contains natural AHAs...so it too does the same job as ur glycolic acid cleanser! So if u wd like to continue with ur current cleanser..then i wd advice u to skip the b.soda and vinegar. it will be too much for ur skin. if u want the benefits of b.soda and Acv, then u have to switch to a gentle cleanser like Dove. On the other hand, if u think this cleanser is helping u and is preventing break-outs..just continue with it along with the eggwhite mask, acne cream and sunscreen. U have to discover what works for u. hope this helps..good luck!

hi denzine, if the redness goes away in a little while, u shd be fine...remember to massage gently when using b.soda.

zerglings...many ppl here like Eucerin. If u have tried it and if it does not break u out, then u shd be fine..if u r breaking out with Eucerin, i wd suggest to look for a hypoallergenic sunscreen for sensitive skin. take one tsp of b.soda and mix water drop by drop till it becomes a slightly thin paste. u dont need too much of it. im sorry i dint understand ur question abt the eggwhite mask..cd u be more specific?

WARPED..u have taken control of urself! Congratulations for keeping ur hands off ur face!

Brandon, K-La..thanks for caring u guys. its unfortunate indeed. i remember watching BBC at the gym..and the pictures they showed were so heartbreaking. ppl walking admist thousands of piled up dead bodies holding their nose to escape the stench of the rotting corpses... its something which u can never forget.

K-la..I use Neutrogena OTS. though the name is on-the-spot..i never put it on just the spots alone. i use it all over. tea tree oil is good too. just spot test to make sure the oil doesnt break u out. I have tried clean and clear's cleanser and it broke me out..so i cannot vouch for any of their products. Abt ACV, its a good idea to dilute 10-12 times if u r sensitive. Just take one tsp of ACV and mix with 10-12 tsps of water. since ur skin is sensitive, remember to wash it off after 20-30 mins. For blackheads, u HAVE to remove the existing ones..they wont go away on their own. cleanse ur face and then steam it for 10 mins. using a soft cloth gently squeeze all ur blackheads out. after this, rub an ice-cube over to close ur pores and apply the eggwhite mask..ur pores will close and u wont get any enlarged pores from ur squeezing. abt glycolic peels, i really dont know..if they make ur skin red, dont u think its better u refrain?

i hv tried this method for 3 days...

and it "seem" working...i really dont know...

haha...but anyways, i hope it is working

and delna, i hv 1 quesitons

After u apply the egg-white masks, i ususally wait until 15 mins be4 washing it off...

and it is kinda hard to wash it with cool water.....u hv this problem and how u solve it?

Hello! first of all, have a happy new year!

I am from Sweden, and my english is very limited, i know you have already said everything your supposed to do, but i don't understand everything, so please don't get angry with me smile.gif

Ok, here we go!

I have very mild acne, it is mostly redmarks, i have it on my chin and around my nose. I have had it like this, probably two years now, they never seem to fade away. I am now taking B5 (b5supplements.com, have been on it since 29 december) , and washing my face with Nivea For Men Double Action Face Fash and Clearasil deep pore cream cleanser, both of them once in the morning, once in the evening. Oh, and i don't have oily skin, neither do i have dry skin, though it sometimes seems a bit oily one my nose.

Well, here is my questions.

Applecidervinager - Is there some special ACV for skin? should I take acv with something else?

"use a 1:8 (vinegar:water) solution first and then gradually increase to 1:1 ..never apply it neat. BALANCED pH = BEAUTIFUL SKIN! wash off after 10 mins. dont leave it on."

I don't really understand that.. redface.gif :

"apply ur acne cream..i use the Proactiv BP lotion. i use the amt Dan suggests for beginners...( edit: i switched to Neutrogena on-the-spot now). U can use ANY acne cream which suits ur skin. Dont skip this step."

Can i use any of the above ( nivea, clearasil ) ?

Moisturise with SPF containing moisturiser. I use Cetaphil and it does not break me out. Look for the words sensitive skin, hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic WITH SUN PROTECTION FACTOR when u buy any moisturiser.

What is that? Will this work?

http://www.clearasiltotalcontrol.com/admm.phtml

"apply a mild protein mask....till date..ive never found a mask that gives as good results as this mask."

Where can i buy those?

Thank's in advance, Jonas

Edit: no need to answer, i have got an answer already smile.gif

so, from the pages i've read, this regimen better prepares your skin for the acne cream? thereby making this regimen good for people who have red (in my case brownish, i'm asian too) marks as well as active acne?

i'm a college student without a fridge in my room, though, so i'm not sure how i'll deal with the egg white mask... haha and i hope my roommate doesn't gag from the smell of apple cider vinegar.

i'll try this asap, esp because i'm trying to stay away from commercial acne products and find more natural treatments

supposed to happen in LOS ANGELES?! i live here. i better start paying attention to the news. oh well im a pretty optomistic person.

anyways, i've read through some of this and it sounds pretty interesting, at least the baking soda and ACV. so, i hardly break out anymore, but i still have alot of PIH (red marks).

I had a few questions about fitting this into my regimen.

first off, i take minocycline which fights off about 50% of my acne. at night i wash with cetaphil and lay about a finger of BP on my face and moisturize with emu oil. this has petty much stopped my breakouts. in the morning i wash with cetaphil and use herbal logix to help with my red marks.

with the combination of baking soda and ACV, is the idea to balance pH in the skin and have literally no dryness? if so, i could probably use this morning or night, or both. if just one, id prefer to do it at night incase of any irritation. but if the BS/ACV is still drying, it might be too much with all the BP i use at night.

any suggestions on where to add the BS/ACV into my regimen and how often (once or twice) would be greatly appericiated. thanks in advance.

hey ya'll!

Delna, I just wanted to say thank you so much for starting this thread. You're a wonderful person for sharing your success and helping others smile.gif I started this regime myself a little less than two weeks ago and have noticed some of my pseudo-scars and macules fading. It's not this miraculous overnight thing, but I've come to realize that it takes time. I just don't want it to take the 6 month MINIMUM! I don't really break out often, but I do have the marks from acne left prior. Talk about fun, eh? rolleyes.gif The only thing I don't use is the acne cream in your regime. I found that BP tends to make my face break out (only one or two, but still), so instead of using that after the regime is complete, I just put a thin layer of that Neutrogena Multi Vitamin cream.

I posted a thread the other day about vitamin-k, if anyone was interested about it/could help me out with it. I'm thinking that if I could add that into this regime, maybe I could get results even faster.

Everyone have a good day! Thanks for letting me waste space biggrin.gif

i got off accutane a year and a half ago and until a couple of weeks ago when i read this thread, my red marks were still pretty bad. Its been 2 weeks since i've started this regimen and my red marks are practically gone. This stuff works although i adjusted the regimen abit. Every 2 days i used the mask and didnt use any acne creams though i did use tea tree oil.

THANK YOU DELNA

hi guys...i got a few pms asking me where i have disappeared!!! Gosh, take a break for a few days and u miss out on something! Dint check this thread for 2 days and people put up progress pics! eusa_clap.gif Im so thrilled biggrin.gif !!

Zerglings, first wet the mask by splashing water, then gently massage ur face. Wash again. This will solve ur problem.

Jonaas,

- ACV recommended for skin is the same one thats used for cooking. u can get these at any retailers or supermarkets. Mix Acv with water before u apply. The ratio of Acv to water shd be 1:8 first..when ur skin is used to 1:8...increase vinegar concentration( if u reduce the amount of water, vinegar concentration will increase) ..ie, 1:7...then do 1:6 and so on...then when u feel ur skin can take a higher concentration...do a 1:1 ratio..ie mix equal quantities of vinegar and water.

- U can use any Acne cream which suits u. If u have tried Nivea or Clearasil and if it helped u, then continue with the same.

- u can use any moisturiser for sensitive skin as long as its hypoallergenic & non-comedogenic and contains atleast SPF(sun protection factor) of 15. From ur link, i see that clearasil total control has an SPF of 10 only. That may not be enough for u as u have acne..and ppl with acne need to use atleast SPF of 15 coz their skin is sensitive.

- ive described the protein mask in detail. All U need to buy are some eggs and lemon.

- hey + ur English is fine smile.gif

sushi, if u/ur roommate cannot stand the acv smell(yes, we need to respect other ppl too when staying in groups)..try lemon water instead. its acidic too like vinegar and it will balance the ph of ur skin and yield the same results. As for the eggs, no, u dont need a refreigerator. eggs turn bad if not refrigerated because of the porosity of its shell. If u coat the egg with petroleum jelly/Vaseline and store it in a cool place it will keep for several days without getting spoiled. if this is difficult, no problem. Ever heard of dried eggs??? Its usually available in sporting goods stores. Dried eggs can be reconstituted with water and used in most of the ways you would use fresh eggs.

i love how we are soo excited to help each other get rid of these hideous stuff on our face. I've always had mild to moderate acne since i was 12 and now i only have like 3 active pimples but the red marks are the core of my problem for the past 2 years. cant seem to get rid of them no matter what. The lighter red marks fade over time but i have some that are cherry red. I am sooo excited to try this wonderful cheap solution. I really hope it works.. Thanks delna for sharing it with us. Your wonderful! eusa_clap.gif

garibaldo, u can use hydroquinone for ur back. it is specifically for hyperpigmentation and melasma. U can also use vinegar full strength for ur back. why dont u do this? vinegar in the morning 1/2 an hr before ur bath(so that u dont smell like chips!!)..and once at night and then showering before bed. But im not sure if u can use vinegar when u r on hydroquinone. Usually bleaching creams have some warnings given on them. Do check that and if u r not sure, be on the safer side and use any one of the two.

zerglings...pls use b.soda and ACV only once a day. Too much exfoliation can hurt ur skin. As soon as u come home from school, cleanse ur face. if u dont want to put on the mask then, just leave it as is. then 1/2 an hr before bed, apply mask, wash and apply ur acne cream.

heyitssarah, antibiotics can only help prevent red scars by preventing acne. no acne..no red marks. they only kill the bacteria responsible for acne. Wont help for red marks already present. any moisturiser which does not break u out is fine. see my tips on this thread for choosing moisturiser. If u want fast results from this routine, u have to be consistent. everyday or every other day is fine.

Hi watchingmash..if ur current regimen is helping with ur acne and fading ur red marks...theres no need to change. if u do want to try this, then i wd suggest u to do b.soda and acv after ur cleanser. then put on ur emu oil and SPF moisturiser. At night u can cleanse, put on eggwhite mask, wash and put on ur herbal logix. Good luck!

Binarystar..no u dont have to wait. it helps with acne too.

leabea..u r welcome smile.gif !! thanks a lot for ur nice words..im just so happy its working for u! oh and yeah...vitamin K cant hurt..go for it!

hi damn....me glad ur glad. biggrin.gif ..CONGRATULATIONS!

brokenglass...THATS AMAZING PROGRESS eusa_clap.gif !! GOSH, mine dint fade THAT FAST!! Keep up the good work!

hi unknownnames..dont worry. if u dont like vinegar, u can use lemon water instead. just splash it on and wash after it dries. That shd balance the pH. Ur cyst may not be coz of ACV. there r so many other factors like stress, hormones, etc that causes breakouts. so the first thing u shd do to prevent acne is CHEER UP! Go out and breathe some fresh air, drink lots of water(now that its winter u dont feel thirsty..so force urself to drink 64 oz of water a day). water will plump up ur complexion and give u back ur confidence. And do ur skin care routine religiously. U will be fine, buddy. TAKE CARE!

ayekyi....u r so welcome!! smile.gif
