No HOPE, did you get your treatment on the day of your first consultation? I was thinking maybe I should reschedule until they have the new machine to save a 45 minutes trip which I need to take a day off for. I'd like to have the consultation AND treatment on the same visit if possible.
4meracneguy, I had several different types of treatment in the past 10 years. Some worked (TCA cross), some didn't help at all (frationate laser $2000, dermabrasion $1500). Some I am not sure (dermaroller, this pricey autologous thing, fillers etc) I don't know the % improvement... always a tough question. You know, results take a long time to happen and by the time if happened, you are used to it and don't really remember exactly you much worse you look 18 months ago. Oh man, I probably wasted over $20,000 in total on these different treatments. If I have to give a number, maybe 25%. I really can't give a higher one as I usually end up disappointed and frustrated than being encouraged. I haven't received any treatment for the past 2 years as I decided to stop wasting money but instead of use it on traveling (quite a few countries in the past 3 years). At least I get something real.
However at the end of the day, I am still not happy or confident. I am sure you guys know what I mean. I never talk about it with friends in life, except on this forum.
I did have the treatment on the same day as my consult. i refused to show up unless i was being treated on the same day. if i was you i would wait until the machine is updated and ready for use. if you can do me a favour and rescedule your appointment until the machine is ready it would show them how important this machine is to sufferers like us. if you go for a consult only you are wasting your time. its far enough and im pretty sure u dont wanna misss a days pay for nothing.
at the momment im dissapointed that they havent updated the machine bcause dr.matta told me they already updated it when i went for treatment. im alittle bit confused on whats happening. my plan is to get my second treatment on the third week of oct. therefore if the machine isnt ready by then it will just ruined everything i have been planning for a while. i really dont want that to happen
I'll probably fly out to Canada to get this done after I'm done with treatments here in Chicago.
tca cross-->ablative fraction laser-->hopefully 3 enerjets
after your previous treatmens im curious to see how a series of enerjet treatments will work for you.

From what I've seen of enerjet, it looks like like a good "finishing off" scar treatment. Like, I wouldn't expect doing enerjet before tca cross and laser to be as effective as doing it last. I've gotten some good results from tca cross so far though (3 treatments).

what scarring did u treat and where are they located
I've shown you pics before. Ice picks mainly.
I used to have everything - a total mess. I think TCA cross helped filling many icepicks (deep narrow craters) and I still have tons, primarily some boxscars on the center cheeks/temples and rolling scars on the jawline as well as other areas.
My doctor says my scars are not that deep, but there are just so many of them, giving the entire face a wavy look.
Allex you have boxcars and rolling scars I presume?
no_hope, I called just now and apparently they have the machine updated already.
I have rescheduled my appointment to Nov 8 so that I will have the long weekend to heal. The receptionist told me it might take 3-7 days to heal, depending on how each one responds.
I think the best treatment for icepicks is the TCA Cross. It was the best cost effective procedure for me. The frustrating thing is it takes 6+ treatment with 3-7 days of downtown each time.
I've now done a bit of reading on Enerjet and some people say it doesn't do anything for ice-pick scarring. Would you say this is correct?

Great you've had improvement with Cross. Have some scars filled in completely even (that would be very impressive)?
I've had 3 TCA cross treatments and they didn't affect my scars. Although my scars are small boxcars rather than ice-picks, but there's some overlap between the two and some would probably categorise them as ice-picks. My scars are too large for Cross though. I was just wondering that if Enerjet doesn't work for ice-picks, perhaps it wouldn't for small-diameter boxcars either.

lovley! im gonna call today thanks for the heads up. as for tca cross where did you have this done. since were both from toronto , it would be great help by letting me know. who knows maybe tca cross can be a finishing touch after my airgent.

lol my bad i totally forgot it was you.
TCA CROSS was done in a different country, but I know that some doctors do perform this procedure in Toronto. My understanding is that it works best for deep and small icepicks scars, while fillers normally work better with shallow but larger ones.
3 sessions won't help that much. You need to do 6-7 to see visible improvement.

which country did u get tca cross done?
this treatment sounds like it would be perfect for me! however, i just called to try to book a consultation/appointment (willing to take a flight), but they said since i am a resident of the united states they can't do it, uggh
why ? i dont understand. did u call dr. matta's office? theres always ways around it. u can easily lie and ssay ur from canada. also make sure u tell them you want treatment on the day of.
I don't know how healthcare works in the US or Canada, but how on earth could you lie you were a Canadian citizen? Here we always have to show our health care card or ID with a social security number and if you don't exist in the register, they can't treat you (unless you have a EU health insurance card).

This is very disappointing news to me. I was planning on booking a flight and going. I would be paying out of pocket so I don't understand how it mattera what country you are in. People get cosmetic procedures done all the time on vacations.
Can anyone verify this?
Also, I have never had to show identification, my social security number or provide an address in NYC when getting procedures done. Do Canadien doctors require your address?

trust me u dont need the ohip card. just say you misplaced it. put down a random adresss in the forms. its that easy to play it off

listen there are three locations in ontario canada that offer airgent. so just because one doesnt accept patients from the states doesnt mean the other wont. i can actually recall some one stating they drove from the states to get it done so yes indeed you can get airgent done in canada even if your not from there
I'm from Chicago and I've been interested in having this procedure done for a few months now. I've called both Dr Matta in Brampton and Tay River Reflections Med Spa in Perth. I explained to both of the receptionists that I would be making a trip from the US and they were very friendly and informative about how the process would work.
The only con was that Dr. Matta's office could not guarantee that I could be treated the same day, that would only be a possibility if he had the time to do it.
There is also a laser clinic in Kingston if I'm not mistaken?

yes you are correct. its go's brampton, kingston and perth where they offer airgent. the key is to insist on getting treatment done on the day of . i got treated on my first visit so why cant you? especially since you making the trip from chicago. its just none sense to me. your better off going to perth to get it done. kingston location also told me they might not be able to do treatment on day of.
On another note my second treatment is comming up in 11 days. i will post my experience as soon as possible

Hi No_Hope, I am also in the same area and was interested in Airgent. I was on Dr. Matta`s website but found nothing about the procedure. Is there any links to his website or you just have to call and ask for it?
I am thinking of getting it done as an option after I finish my 8th fraxel dual, dermarolling, and maybe TCA cross.
Do you think it would be any good for me? I have cheek scars that bother me, especially the left side:
yes it can help your scarring. ur skin is almost normal u shouldnt wrry too much. call dr. matta too book a consult

I have a couple dermatologists that I would recommend. I tend to move around to different offices, depending on the prices and procedures that each one offers. I'd be glad to pm you their names/locations if you're interested!
