It doesnt look too bad tbh. I think it will fill over time (not sure if 100%)- the scar tissue will reshape itselft for 6-18months, However u can try microneedling as it induces collagen production. It worked for me!

Tretinoin might help. My son also has a large indented scar from a recent cyst that finally burst and went flat. Oftentimes, these sort of marks are temporary. The area temporarily atrophies after healing, but with time usually evens out. We thought this was going to be permanent but already the area is looking less indented. It's almost even already, although still very hyperpigmented. We are also using tretinoin a few times a week, and this may be what is helping to even out his skin.
Id get a consult for subcision and if it was not tethered (there are tests you can do at home for this) I would opt for juvederm, a filler, or PRP injection.
nothing topical is going to help this tbh, well, it will, but only in the sense that moist shit skin looks better than dry skin skin. and so on.

I had a cortisone injection 5 weeks ago for a small cyst and there is still a white Mark and a very noticeable dent. I am starting to think it is never going to start repairing itself.
Will this his really go? I find it very hard to believe at the moment. This used to be my 'good side' and now it's hideous.
Like Convinceme says, it's not immediately obvious.
My initial reaction was not "OMG. Look at that dent in her face!" Indeed, I probably wouldn't have noticed had you not drawn attention to it.
I can understand you wanting to do something about it, and I'm not here to tell you what can or can't be done - but my opinion is it is nowhere near as bad as you think it is. Look into possible solutions by all means, but don't freak out about it.
They do fill in, but it can take months and months. There was girl on here who had a very large atrophied area on her chin that was literally 15x the size of that little dent. Her's eventually recovered. There is the possibly it might not fill in, in which case filler is the quickest solution and will save you the stress and wasted time.

What silly advice from that derm. I've read many times that a dent from cortisone can take many months to fill in. Look it up on RealSelf. This might not be as bad as you think!
I think you have a very good chance at having the dent fill in. I've had 5 cortisone injections in the past year and 4 of them atrophied to some degree. The first time it happened, I freaked out as well so I completely understand your concern. Derm said it could take 6 months to a year to resolve; it took about 6-8 weeks. The following times I had injections, I made sure to find someone who paid very close attention to the dosage given. The minor dents resolved in about 5 weeks.
About a month ago I had an abcess on my forehead between my eyebrows. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant. I went to a doctor and they gave me zpak to get rid of it, which did not work, so I was referred to aDermatologist. He lancedthe abcess and drained the pus then filled it with a steroid. It all happened so quick and I asked before if I would have a scar and I was assured I would not. After a few weeks went by redness was still present, however now it's fading, and a dent started to form about an inch long and deep in the center where it was lanced. Upon pressing the incision site the bone feelstender. I went back to the doctor in total distress and he told me I was aging and it was a wrinkle. When I stress my face it happens to fall in the natural wrinkle line that appears when I scrunch my forehead, however before the steroid injection when my face was relaxed there was no skin depression present, my forehead was smooth. He insists its mostly aging but consented to give me saline treatments of 3cc. I went in today for my first saline injection. The first few hours it looked great but it's starting to look dented again.I am very depressed over this. More depressing than anything is being told I'm aging, which yeah I get it we all age and I am aging but this monster literally appeared overnight, wrinkles happen over time. When my face is relaxed there is now an obvious dent in it that was not there before. I am not sure how many treatments I will be getting but I am going in next week for another one. Being pregnant with hormones and my body using all its energy to build a person I don't know how this will affect healing and restoration to my face. I am so depressed over this and worry it will be there forever!!! Should I increase my water intake? Eat certain foods to help aid in healing ? Massage the area?? Is 3 cc enough? Please help! I am very emotional about this , being pregnant makes it worse. I just want my face back!
Steroid atrophy is not that uncommon and it should resolve on its own, but it taaaaaaakessssss tiiiiiiiiiimmmmmme (months to few years) depending on how deep it was injected, how much and how concentrated the solution was. Weekly injections of normal saline x 3-6 session have been reported to speed up the recovery.
