Lol Krissy at least you waited for the physician to leave the room ...unlike some people...
I don't know why you're so upset, I cried because the 10injections in 1 min hurt like hell, but I wouldn't get emotional to the point of crying over pimples. Dont be so hard on yourself, you're doing everything you can, you made the right choice with accutane, so just lay back and relax. Don't spend your life being sad and depressed
It looks a lot better maybe there are like 4 small cysts that fused into one big cyst which is why it looks like bubbles. I would give it a few weeks though I had some bigger cysts that took a while after the cortisone shots to go away. Things look like they are improving a lot though so that is good!!

Thank you. I never thought of that before it's quite possible. yah your right I have to look at the bright side. How long did it take your bigger ones to go away? And how many cortisone shots did you get for it? This will be the second one for this one and three for the smaller one on my left side.
And the thing is I know that both or one of them are going to come back. She's not putting enough cortisone in to actually flatten them because they don't want it to have atrophy- which is good in a sense. As much as I would rather have these things down to the size they are now, what the hell is the point of continuously getting cortisone shot into my face if they are just gonna keep coming back is what I ask myself
In so done with this
yeah i've had that happen to me a few times where I would get one small cyst and then new ones kept popping up next to it so it looked 1 ginormous cyst. ugh I feel for you those things are the devil!! for my bigger cysts I had to get them injected a few times and then after about 2-3 weeks after that they would be gone. I would help them out by using 10% bp on them twice a day too.
yeah they are really afraid of causing atrophy these days. i've had a few that didn't turn out so well and had a huge dent for a while before it filled in and as strange as this sounds it looks a lot more normal with the cysts on your face than a huge indent. anyway it will all be ok just keep getting your shots if you have to until they are gone. do you use any sort of aha at all? it works really well for helping to keep those skin cells from sticking together so it could be something to look into if you keep getting the cysts. also Keflex works amazing well too if you get desperate..
how are the cysts today?

Hey thanks. Yah I'll just have to deal with it and keep getting shots I know once I go from 20 mg to 40 mg of accutane soon I might break out more so I made the decision this morning to just deal with this.
Here's a comparison from yesterday to today. The one on the right is actually smaller but I fprmed a pimple- go figure right next to it so it looks a bit like there's 4 of them
i am sorry i didnt realize you were on accutane but yeah it is looking better today for sure. i bet its super frustrating. i know that you can take a short course of prednisone while on accutane if things get too crazy for you but hopefully by next week those cysts will be much much flatter.

Thanks I hope so too but I'm not getting my hopes up. I can already tell that it might come back in 2 weeks but like I said I have a new outlook on it. And yah I was very hesitant and still am to be on this drug. On Christmas day the big one showed some signs of coming back so I made my decision right then and there . Thanks for the advice chicky!!
awe your welcome and I hope that the Accutane works quickly for you. my hubby took it about 24 years ago and it was the best decision he ever made. if you ever want to vent you can always pm me. take care!!
Oh awesome thanks I may take you up on that because I need to sometimes. Everyone around me has aready had their fill and don't really understand lol. All I get from some of my family is "it's just a pimple" or "don't be vain" lol
Sometimes I wish some of those "stop being vain" people could just spend a week in our shoes. I think most would break down and curl up in the fetal position. I think those of us who suffer from severe acne, and then the scars that follow are some of the strongest people. Don't forget that!

Totaly agree
This is what it currently looks like (without makeup) looks much better with. The 2 red marks on each side are my fault :/ I guess trying to pop little pimples on accutane peels your skin a little easier but anyways the post cortisone cysts are looking the same pretty much. Will be expecting them to come back again and in 3 weeks I'll probably be getting more shots. I wanna tell her to drain it more this time.
Just thought I would update
Hey
I don't think you can force things can work in a way you want them to...
You should never touch your face, especially when you are on accutane, unless the pimple is a superficial almost-to-pop-pimple...
Accutane takes months to work, so you will have to wait it out.
You can't try new products that will dry out the skin, you should only moisturize it lightly 1-2 a day and use a very gentle face wash 1-2day.
Please, don't squeeze anything, you are not helping it go away. Do injections once a month when you see your doctor. There will be no bruising left and the inflammation goes down quickly without the irritation you are causing from all the squeezing.
Focus on things like your diet and hormones, maybe even try out to find if you have food allergies. This way you can possibly figure out what caused the acne.
Since Accutane is so taxing on our bodies, now it's a good time to start drinking more water and try dufferent diets (like the anti-inflammatory diet).

Hey well what I popped was whiteheads ready to pop but on one of them I squeezed to hard. I would never squeeze my cysts because I've done a lot of research and know that it's a no no. It can't be my diet although it's possible. I drink lots of water and eat healthy. Lean meats, nuts whole grains with fruits and vegetables. I'm on birth control though- just started last month. Hoping that was the cause (hormones) anyways thanks for the input
Doesn't look like you're going to scar. Your skin seems pretty tough considering you don't have scars anywhere else. Keep us updated
I have a painful cystic pimple on my nose, and i was wondering if i should get a cortisone shot for it?? Has anyone ever gotten a cortisone shot on the nose before? Im only worried about the indent it might cause. Im hoping anyone has had a cortisone shot on their nose specifically! thanks
[Edited image out]
How long have you had the cyst on your nose? Personally I think I would just leave that be in its current state, it doesn't seem to be too bad.
its been 3 days now, yeah ive had a cystic pimple on my nose before, and i know its going to get bigger and worse, there no lump yet, but i feel pain, which means its going to get bigger. i would leave it alone , but i have a job interview this week, so im hoping a cortisone shot would remove it

Hmm, that is a tough call.. I was never big on cortisone shots. You could discuss it with your derm and gauge the possible chances of getting a scar.. in the meantime I wouldn't pick at it at all, and would occasionally ice it to reduce inflammation.
Yeah, hormones can cause some pretty crazy breakouts. I think mine was due to stress and change of location (weather). Birth control however didn't help me and I was on it for around 4 months before I got on accutane.
Did you ever worry while you were on it? I go through waves of being sure then unsure. I get certain symptoms but keep pushing on... Like for instance I get muscle pain for little things like holding groceries etc... Gonna be getting my blood work done this week to make sure everything is in order
