animegirl,

I know you have had a lot of procedures done....dermabrasion etc. Did any of the resurfacing procedures cause your pores to enlarge? Mine enlarged and some look like small icepicks now after a 70% glycolic acid peel...I'm worried dermabrasion would make it worse.

Hey Misty,

I assume that you are still leaving on Tues. for your dermabrasion, is my assumption correct? I wish you all the best.

I had a few quick questions about the punch floats. What is the cost like for that? Did you send him pictures before hand or did you just dicuss things over the phone?

I have a dermabrasion scheduled for Jan 3., but I am seriously rethinking what exactly I want, I am thinking of maybe seeing if there is anyway he could do some punch floats or excisions before hand. I should have thought all of this out before I scheduled the derma. mad.gif

Has anyone heard from Misty recently or did she have to evacuate? I hope she's okay. unsure.gif

New Orleans is fine; I spoke with the Dr.Y's office today.

If Misty has her dermabrasion on Tuesday the 21st, she shouldn't have her bandages removed until Friday the 24th....and if she stays in New Orleans over the weekend to heal, I wouldn't imagine we'd hear much from her until after the 27th. Just my guess,

Thanks Kiki.

I hope she was able to go ahead and do that, but with the weather and whatnot, just wasn't sure.

Hi guys,

I am back from N.O. and fresh from the dermabrasion. I will answer all the questions left from this post. I will be starting a new thread outlining the dermabrasion procedure and will update that thread with the gruesome pics...lol. Please save any questions regarding dermabrasion for my new thread. I hope to have it up by tonight, but bear with me as I am trying to unpack, deal w/ the baby, etc.

Thanks to all for their well wishes. Things went very smoothly.user posted image

Ann Marie, I'm scheduled for dermabrasion on 3rd of Jan. too. Also going in for the punch float on Nov. 29th. That's probably the best thing you can do prior to your dermabrasion. It is only $60 per punch float. Definately call the office and schedule that 4-5 weeks before your dermabrasion. -nic

Hi there,

I don't have any new pictures, other than what's on my Gallery page. My scars look just as improved as they did 5 weeks post-op.

But...my skin is beginning to really break out; no blemishes that come to the surface, but quite a few little nodules/cysts deep under my skin. sad.gif

I have no idea why I'm breaking out, but I'm not sure what to do. If I can't get it under control with Tazorac within the next 2 weeks, I'll try something else; though I'm not sure what.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Love...

You could try taking a high dose supplement of Propolis for a couple of months to subdue and control the break out. It is a natural antibiotic produced by bees and I have heard great things about it - I'm recommending this purely because taking 'proper' antibiotics might not be too good for your skin at the moment, with it still being relatively fragile following the dermabrasion...

Try taking 1500mg per day for a few weeks if you're interested.

Other than this, I don't really know what to recommend. Isn't tazorac too strong for your skin at the moment?

Good luck anyway - it's good to hear your scars are still improving anyway. smile.gif

Love,

The same thing happend to me a few weeks after the dermabrasion. Actually my face broke out worse than I have seen it in years. I called Dr. Y and he said that I could spot treat with Benzaclin. I alternated that with tea tree oil and it seemed to help. Two months and 1/2 months after the derma I started using the Benzaclin all over every day and night.

Kiki  I am sorry to hear about you breaking out. sad.gif  What skincare routine are you using at the moment? I think I saw that you were using the Aveeno at one point, and let me tell you that stuff broke me out like crazy. Hang in there, we are here for you!user posted image

love,

I know how you feel. My face is breaking out too and I hate it. The only thing different was that I started using birth control. I hope this is the initial reaction that everyone talks about.

You must be extremely careful taking steroids - can't stop them too quicky, have to be "weaned" off. Please see a Dr. if you wish to take steroids.

Is there anyway to prevent a cyst from surfacing? i mean when you feel em' under your skin, can you do anything to keep them there, or even better to make them go away?
