thanks Leafsfan.

I think it would work out cheaper for me to stay in New Orleans for a month, rather than me flying back to the U.K after i have had my floats, as the cheapest return flight i can get is ‚£900 which i think works out at about $1800 and i really dont have that kind of money to spend twice in one month on flights.

I suppose i could always look for dermatologists over here in the U.K who do punch floats and get them done over here, and then fly out for my dermabrasion the date in which it is scheduled for with Dr Y, although i think i will probably have trouble trying to find someone, plus they might not make a good job of it, or do it differently to the way Dr Y does it. OHHHH I DUNNO!! eusa_wall.gifeusa_wall.gif

I'm seriously stressing out here!!!

MissShady, You can always rent out a private room rather than staying at a hotel for the whole month. Check out Craigslist.com

thanks Leafsfan.

Sorry to correct you, Fainhart, but it's actually craigslist.org (not .com). But that's a great idea--I'm sure, if you could find something, it'd be cheaper than staying in a hotel for a month.

Hi, everyone,

Do you think Dr. Y might be able to use dermabrasion to smooth out the small bumps due to an overly injected filler if the filler can't be sucked out completely?

Is it possible to achieve the same effect as dermabrasion with a few deep chemical peels?

thanks

Jenny

Hi LeafsFan,

Thanks for posting pre and post operative pics. I have similar scars

you had. I am asian too (India). Your pics show nice improvement.

I stayed in Mississippi almost for 4 years and never knew about Dr. Y .

Recently (2 months) moved to calif. I feel terrible.

Scars have been nightmare for me. I have zero social life.

I will need to contact Dr. Y soon. I think its worth it.

Thanks,

Venu

Predermabrasion:

1. Right cheek

2. Another right cheek

3. Left cheek

4. Full face

I told a very nice and caring licensed aesthetician (Karen!) that I had a dermabrasion two weeks ago

hi there!

i have one question about dermabrasion: i had an appointment with a laser doctor last week and she told me, laser would treat the healthy skin, and not the scars. ??? i always thought methods like laser and derma would influence the scar itself, to produce more collagen or however.

she said no method could heal the scars, it is always the skin around the scars that will be treated. so i wonder how it works with dermabrasion?? does it also treat the healthy skin, so maybe to "lower" it to the level of the scars? and how often can i repeat it then? i mean if i do several dermas, does it mean that my skin gets thiner then?? could it happen that one time my skin will become so thin that it could look damaged??

hi kiki!

i went through all the postings here, but i coudnAAt find an answer if derma affects the scar or the healthy skin. i have a lot of scars (kind of icepick) on my forehead, and they are very close to each other, so there is nearly no healthy skin between them, and if all the methods just work on healthy skin, can they work then on skin that is just "full of" scars??

hmmm....

I am so inspired by all of you who have had good results with Dr. Y. I had kind of given up on ever getting rid of my scars. Question though:

when googling "punch float" I have found other doctors who do punch-floating for icepick and other deep acne scars. I understand that Dr. Y is the ultimate, but for time and cost issues, I would like to look into other, closer doctors. I'm in Northern Virginia, btw. Have there been reports of other doctors also doing punch floats with good results?

BTW, did anyone comment (or hint) on the lack of scarring? Just curious...

Hey Leafsfan, Did you have punch floats too? For some reason your post and pre-dermabrasion pics are not showing up very clear, somewhat blurry. It's prob my monitor or something. Anyway...

How bad was your scarring? Did you have the rolling/hills & valleys type scars? Or boxcar/ice picks? All over your face, ie. temples, forehead, or just the cheeks? Do you see equal improvement in all these regions? Finally, were your scars classified as mild/moderate or severe and deep? Thanks mate.

hello Leafsfan,

thank you for answering!!! i am really confused about all the different methods, every doctor tells you something else...two doctors , two opinions. i am from germany, and i must say i think we are more with laser, and so i am surprised to learn that it seems in the US it is more dermabrasion..i already had a co2 treatment, i would never ever do that again, bad hypopigmentation, parts of my forehead totally white:( and that for 7 years now, i gave up hope that pigmentation comes back:( well and than i had that appointment with a doctor and she told me that just the healthy skin is treated, as scars are scars and never move away. but the way you explained it to me sounds pretty good:) and gives me hope..so maybe i should also use that derma (althouhg it seems that it also needs severals treatments) sad.gif *sigh*

thanks again, and mucho mucho success with your treatments!

Manu

I'm having doubts about Dermabrasion, yes Dr. Y is the best, but to spend 5,000 dollars- be pink for 3+ months, risk hypopigmentation, all for 10 percent improvement? I think i might just get some punch floats and call it a day for now.

I really don't want to do a full face- im young- maybe in like 15 years, but not now.

LeafsFan,

Looking good! It's wonderful how quickly your skin is healing.

Thanks very much for documenting and continuing to share your progress. I'm scheduled for a dermabrasion in a couple of months. So I was glad to hear (and see) that your post-dermabrasion milia or whiteheads are resolving quickly. Breaking out during the post-dermabrasion phase is one of the things that I am scared about.

Leafsfan, Your results look amazing, and that's only after one dermabrasion... It's been a month now since you had dermabrasion, right? Do you attribute some of the impressive results to swelling, and expect some of the scars to return? Or is the swelling phase past? Also, are the results as good as they appear in the after pics? Thanks.

Whatever gave you the idea that dermabrasion will yield only 10% improvement? If the collagen "boost" holds true, which it has for Ann Marie and Leopolda, then Love should expect to see further improvement. Plus, there's more room for improvement when your scars are bad.
