Eddy,

I don't think Dr.Y does punch grafts.

Who was your Punch graft doctor? What was the size of the punch grafts?

Seether,

I took 14 days off work.

Hi all, i went and booked my full face dermabrasion today, with Dr Yarborough, i have an appointment on April 4th at 10:00am, it seems like a life time away.....

The woman on the phone wasnt very pleasant, i am from scotland, and she had a nightmare trying to understand me, aaargh! i felt like just putting on a fake ass american accent so she could understand me, also i went to put down my $2000 deposit, and when i did she couldn't understand why i only have 9 digits in my account number??? how many do you guys have? she said she would have to get autherisation on that, or something, i think i will call up again in a couple of days though, because i am pretty sure she never got my telephone number correct. it was very frustrating!!!

ok, that's enough moaning for now...

To those who had dermabrasion with Dr. Yarborough,

I am from Canada and the pharmacy here doesn't accept drugs call-in from doctors in the USA because there is no way for the pharmacy in Canada to track US doctors. So what I need to know is the dosage of the 3 drugs that are prescribed for the dermabrasion. I need to know this ASAP as my appointment is next Monday. My family doctor in Canada is willing to prescribe the drugs for me. This morning, I called Dr. Y's office already but I am waiting for the return call and am getting anxious.

Please let me know the dosage of:

1. dalmane

2. zovirax

3. methylprednisolone

Thanks in advance.

Acyclovir 400mg tablets ( generic for Zovirax 400mg tablets)

Flurazepam 30mg capsules ( generic for Dalmane 30mg capsules)

Alright guys!... Punch floats in the morning.

I've been in New Orleans for a few days now and have had a time to visit the friends and family.

Does anyone have any questions to ask Dr. Y either about Dermabrasion or Punch Floats? I'll check again in the morning before my appt (10AM) and print out the list and try to ask him all of them.

I have cold feet, but I'm gonna do it anyway!

Thanks annimegirle... I will be sure to have breakfast before going in. Glad to see you back here too *phew*

I hope it cools down some, its like 75 degrees here and like 110% humidity *ugh*.... just like I remember it. I don't want my bandages to fall off. I'm gonna be down here till next Sunday as I'm also celebrating TG with my family.

LizLee are you internet connected while here by chance???? If so, pvt message me. Anyone else gonna be around tomorrow?

portlandboy- ask him what preparation he does for boxcar scarring?

How effective is dermabrasion on boxcars?

What matters when it comes to boxcars? depth or size?

Also let me know what he does for your boxcars

Also:

What vitamins/supplement to take before dermabrasion, like vit C etc.

missShady- why in april? because of time or because it was the only available slot?

OK... Had the punches done this morning with Dr. Y. It was great to see Dr. Y and Cassandra again. They are still just as awesome as I remember them from 5 years ago when I did microdermabrasion with them.

I asked and Cassandra was nice enough to take photos for me pre-punch, right after punches, and post punch after the strips had been applied. She's going to mail these to me at a later date and I will post them. I will also be doing my own photographs to track progression. That will all be posted later in a detailed thread. I thought it would be nice to have a male dermabrasion thread so people can see how a guys skin might heal/improve from this type of procedure. I had a total of 21 punches done. I go back for full face dermabrasion in Dec.

I have a huge chicken pox scar that Dr. Y could not do anything with. It was too large to punch and he feels dermabrasion is the best for that one. I was concerned that might be the case for quite sometime so I wasn't too shocked. I also had him shave away a mole on my lip (a lil beauty mark like Cindy Crawford)

I also had a chance to meet LizLee from the board so that was a nice highlight. She's a sweetheart (and quite attractive if I may say so). We both didn't see each other's scarring when looking at each other. I guess we are our own worst critics but I had 21 punches done so I had to have had some scarring! LOL. Great to meet ya Liz! Hope you recover quickly!

PAIN: Minimal, about 30 needle pricks directly to the face. The actual punches themselves had no pain, just pressure. The sound was kinda freaking me out though. Those who have had it done probably know what I'm referring to.

TIME: About 1 hour total I'd estimate from start to finish.

COST: about $1300.00 for everything I had done today.

I've had no reaction from the local anesthesia and no swelling thus far. No discomfort either. I can already tell they may begin to itch soon. I look a little funny and am definitely getting stares at the stores but everyone down here is very nice anyway.

I also asked him to classify my scarring before we did anything and he said I had moderate scarring. I actually thought I had mild-moderate. So at least I know its not all in my head or BDD. It was good to finally hear someone answer the question honestly.

Now to answer the questions

portlandboy- ask him what preparation he does for boxcar scarring?

How effective is dermabrasion on boxcars?

What matters when it comes to boxcars? depth or size?

Also let me know what he does for your boxcars

I did it! eusa_dance.gif

I scheduled my consultation and punch floats for March 3rd, Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. Yeah. I am sooooo excited.

Now I have to book my flight. I am going to go there just for my appt. and return home the same day. I can't wait.

Most likely, I will have my dermabrasion the 1st week of april. I will probably call back next week to schedule that.

YEAH! eusa_dance.gif

biggrin.gif I am going to see them again in Jan. just to let him take some post-op photos. He also removed a pre-cancerous lesion from my husband's chest during the last visit, so I want him to follow up with that as well.

I am so happy for all you guys!!!

amnesiac,

Perhaps I will see you there. I believe MissShady scheduled her derm for the first week of April as well.

I am looking forward to meeting other people on this forum. It is still a few months away but I am sure it will be here in no time.

Dr. Y doesn't use the term "boxcar" but rather "hills and valleys" What I'd classify as a boxcar he treated with punch float technique. I had one really bad dent that I'd call a boxcar for sure and thats the one I'm referring to.
