Ok, today is the day for my second roll

Will be steaming my face shortly...have been pretty consistent with the LEDs lately (660/880 and yellow)

I noticed something...some of my newer scars are filling in! Especially the small pit I had on my nose...this was a fairly new scar I get in Sept 08, and it upset me quite a bit back then, as I didnt have any new scars for sometime at that point...well that scar seems to be the first to go...almost doesnt bother me anymore...last 2 weeks, it has filled in a decent amount (very decent)

Not sure if its due to my more consistent LEDing, the needling, or the Vit C serum (and daily ester C intake)...or most likely: all three

Lamarr - whats your opinion on the effectivness of terproline for very fine lines and wrinkles ... do you think it could get rid of them due to the increase in collagen, elastin and HA that skinmed calims it does ?

Yeah I just ordered the red/infrared/amber-combo array. Thanks for the info. Lamarr I hope this one is as good as the red/infrared and yellow array that most of you are getting.

How much did u pay for the combo array?

I paid $130 U.S. dollars. I just got it today...the guy that makes it lives a few hours away from me. I turned on all the lights but is the infrared light supposed to be indistinguishable (hardly noticeable)??

It should help pretty significantly.... So long as they are deep inset wrinles.

Pete, yes the infra red should be invisible, you can switch all the lights off in your house at night and just switch on the infra red to see them. Even then though you will only be able to see by looking directly at them. Don't do this for very long with your eyes open.

YES you can. If you read into LED therapy it tells you it works best for new wounds.

Thank you very much PeePotteryPete, also my scars are only about 2 years old, is this considered old scars or new scars?

And is it harder to treat old scars, or the same with new scars?

Well I'm going to start my LED therapy/dermaroll/needling session as soon as spring break starts. However, I will also be using UT since I am a strong believer of its healing powers. If all goes well I shall let you all know. If it goes bad, well...I won't breathe a word of it.

Jumpin Jellybeans Batman!! I just read all 20 pages and feel better inside already. I googled acne scarring because I have scarring on my left cheek and nose and came upon this thread. I think this dude Mark should be commended for his continued effort to help those in need. Truly a great guy!!

Now for a couple questions:

-I remember reading a little bit about treatment for the nose but I am unsure what to do. I have 2 scars on the side of my nose (where the nostril meets the bridge I guess). What are some ways to treat these?

-These LED lights seem great and I saw the one that looks like a detachable shower head called lightstim.. Kinda pricey but seems convienent. Is this a good choice. I kinda like the idea of an all in one light approach and this has all 3 combined.

Lastly I would like to say that this is the first thread I have read on this site and it has helped me out a great deal. I have never typed or spoke a word of my scars to anyone and reading other peoples struggles and seeing their determination to feel better has inspired me. I truly think that for me the scars are signals to others that I had a tough struggle with some issues. They are indicators that I have not always been completely "drama free". I kinda thing it is the bodys way of showing some mental struggles. But the problem for me was the "snowball effect". I am so freakin vane and concerned about my looks that when I had just a zit I would be depressed and I feel it led to more acne and more depression continued in that cycle.

I am sure there are other places on this site where my life story is more applicable but as I stated this is the thread that prompted me to become a member of this site and start fighting back.

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!! :boohoo:

Almost forgot!!

-I bought the 1.5mm Dr Roller. and then thought maybe I should have gotten a shorter one. Should I be worried or is the 1.5mm ok for all levels of scarring?

-Back to the LED.. Is the panel better than the handheld because it hits the whole side of the face and not just where you move the "wand"?

-If I recently had a pimple that is scarring is it dangerous to use any of these treatments.. Should I wait until it isnt red anymore?

Sorry for the double post but these questions are just coming to me.

Hey, I will help out alittle if I can..If it was me personaly I would use the diabetic needles mentioned in this thread to gently needle any nose scars. just me. the nose is very sensitive and rolling it could be pretty painfull. I dont have scars on my nose and have not needled or rolled it. just my opnion from what I would do if it was me.

I just purchased a blue/red led lamp. its a larger led. I have not even used it yet and I am not familiar with the led you mentioned. sounds decent thou. the 1.5mm roller is the one you want. and you dont wanna roll with alot of active breakouts. (make sure you get everything you need to roll) If you are able, in my opinion your best bet is to follow lamaars program exactly the way he laid it out. if not you will want to try and come as close as you can.

your story/situtation is alot like many others on here. you seem to have a good attitude torwards doing something to improve your situation. thats a must if you want to achieve this goal. its a long journey and you have to have alot of dedication. but we are all in this together and on your bad days I can pick you up, and on my bad days you can pick me up. thats what a forum is for. to help eachother achieve our goals. hope to see you around and look forward to following your progress and offering support. 🙂

I just want to thank everyone that contributed to this post. It has really given me hope and I feel that I can finally take action against my scars. I've had acne for 30 years and it's been a rough journey. My scars are so bad people question me when I tell them I'm 30 y/o, my scars make me look older than I am. I have ice pick, box car and enlarged pores from cystic acne.

I wanted to try accutane but I can't find a Dr. in Juneau, AK, that will prescribe it. Unfortunately we have no permananent dermatologist in Juneau, we have one guy that visits three days out of the month and he mainly specializes in TCA peels and collagen injection. I am currently on Doxy and so far it seems to be keeping my acne at bay. I also ordered MaMa lotion, I've read another post on here where some people have had success with it. This post gives people like me hope because we don't have access to a dermatologist. I can't wait until my supplies come so I can get to work. I want my face back!!!

Has anyone ever tried collagen injections with derma rolling/needling?

Thanks in advance for the advice/help!

question for lamarr,

i know somewhere in this thread you said it will take around 3 months to see noticeable results, i was just wondering is that 3 months using the leds or without using them?

Edit: Also I started using the leds, 660/880nm and the yellow array. What I do is i hold them about 1/2inch - 1 inch from my face, sometimes just touching the skin, and on my cheeks i know that its not flat but is that ok if its like 2 inches away from some areas of my cheek? And is it ok to do the 660/880 on one cheek and the yellow array on the other at the same time and then vice versa?
