Hi, i have a question that has not been asked by anyone. i use Dove summer glow daily face mositurizer every 2 nights to give my face a bit of colour. Could someone tell me if using this will mean the terporline and the LED lights will not work? I thought because it is a moisturzier rather than a fake tan it would not stop the terpolrine and LED working, am i correct?

Lamarr,
Hey there again. How often are you rolling/needling now. Its i hard for me to really see the true severity of your scarring in the photos on this thread. If you could put a percentage on the improvement, what would say? Also looking back at what month or treatment would you say you looked at your face and saw noticable improvement. Sorry for the 20 questions. Thanks
I have found these needles which if they are okay for the face will solve the problem for a stopper. can someone tell me if they are alright for the face or are lancets needles not suitable for the face?

I'm possibly going to start dermarolling. Most likely I will. So here's what I think I should do...Get a 2mm roller and some copper peptides. The two led's that lamarr said we should use. Also i got some 30g needles from walgreens and i measured them they are about 3mm long so that should be fine i think. I'm also going to get some numbing cream for the dermarolling.
Do you think this is good? Should I add anything else?
hey ohnoes, yeah it is supposed to be good for treating pigmented issues...supposedly by moving melanin producing cells around if I remember right
as for EMLA cream, yes you are supposed to put a thick layer on, then put a malleable plastic cover over it, most use saram wrap...leave that on for about 1 hour then remove and rinse away the residue
Also, lamarr if you see this, your mailbox is completely full! (and has been for weeks lol)
I dont believe this has been asked or addressed but how do you guys think the terpoline and LED'S would work in conjunction with laser treatment such as the pixel laser. I think it would have the same type of ability to improve the effectivness of the treatment. Any thoughts?
i have been thinking about needling individual scars as the texture of my skin overall is pretty good. i've read through this and a few other threads to make a list of everything i need to get and do, but one question...
does anyone use gloves when needling? i just want to keep everything as clean as possible, but i have not seen anyone mention the use of gloves.
Crzyakta, thanks for the reply, but I'm confused about one thing. Do you put the emla cream on, put saran wrap on right away, wait about 20 minutes, and then start needling/rolling with the saran wrap still over your face? Sorry if it seems like a dumb question, but I would really appreciate it if you can break down the steps a bit further...thanks!
hey,
here are the steps:
1. put a thick layer of ELMA, massage it well into skin...reapply in thin areas, make sure its thick and even
2. cover face with saram wrap, it will stick to the ELMA..press the saram wrap firmly onto face
3. leave this on for 1 hour (the saram wrap over the ELMA cream)
4. after 1 hour, remove the saram wrap, and rinse the ELMA residue
5. start rolling/needling
hope this helps
oh wow, all this time I thought you roll/needle with the emla cream on your face. Thanks for the steps it really cleared things up just one last question (I want to get this perfect), do you completely rinse the emla cream before you start rolling or just wash off the spots where you can still see the cream?
Hey folks.
I just tried needling on my scars just now.. got a fright of my life! I bought 30G lancets to needle my scars. The measure about 2.5mm in length when i measure it. I followed instructions.. that is to stretch my skin and poke bout 10 time at different parts of the scar with the lancet. Lots of blood began oozing out and I had to stop the bleed by pressing it hard with an alcohol swab. The result is a BIG bruise bulging out of my skin that looks purplish dark in color. It looks horrendous!!
Anyone can tell me if this is what I should expect from needling? The bruise has subsided after a few hours, but still looks bad and swollen.
Also, I have got the LEDs from LEDman. I wonder why Lamarr only suggested to do the light therapy for 5 mins a day. Is there a risk of over-exposure? Can I use it more often or for a longer period to speed up the healing and increase collagen production?
I have also got Terproline professional flown in from UK. I use it day and night, but the cream makes my skin super oily that it shines. Not sure if it is the cause of some of my breakouts too. Do u folks find the cream oily, or is it just me?
Tks Lamarr for this wonderful thread. I have been suffering from scars for a long time.. and really hope this works.

You can probably use the lights for longer than 5 mins each area but i think if you are holding them close enough to the skin and remember to use it 5 minutes EVERY area you are treating, not just the whole face. Then you should hit almost the right joules. Some beleive there is a rick of overstimulation, others believe it isn't possible with LED's....
I never found the cream oily atall, but then again i have taken accutane...
The bruise will probably be a good thing in the end, it was probably a combo of pressing the skin hard to stop it from bleeding AND the needling itself. Next time don't worry about the bleeding, just keep wipeing it away till your done.
oh noes, yes take it all off...you dont want to press it into the skin when rolling
I do wipe off the emla, but i don't go through great lengths to make sure i get it all off. I don't think people should start washing their faces to remove the emla. Leaving a bit actually helps it last longer when your rolling. So long as you don't see thick goops of white emla over your face i don't see the problem.
That is just my opinion though, people may not want to risk getting to much of the emla into the blood stream. I have never had any issues however.
Im thinking about doing this for my scarring. How does needling essentially help it though? How long will it take for results to show? What kind of scars will not improve because of it?
It assists in rebuilding collagen. Your results will vary depending on your scarring, skin type, diet, etc

I'm not trying to scare you or put a damper on your use of EMLA cream (Thanks to this thread, Im going to try needling myself, including the use of EMLA) I just want to give you guys a "heads up" on the info I just received from the FDA.
