ok, I went back and carefully re-read some stuff.
From Lamarr: "I was pretty ill when the photos were took. thanks to accutane."
Alright, so we established that your before picture was during(?) or after accutane.
So here is my good-natured, helpful advice for the forum... My face looked similar to Lamarr's in his before photo, and now my skin is mostly smooth (except for my actual scars).
and I didn't spend $750!
food for thought.
dermarolling in conjunction with leds is being lauded on other forums (none of which push one specific manufacturer or retailer) for anti-aging properties, as well. people are using varied brand names with a wide price range and while what i am referencing is indeed anecdotal experience, as someone mentioned earlier, there are numerous valid studies behind it. the original poster first did the research, then tried it himself, if i recall correctly. having been on this board since 02, i sincerely understand skepticism regarding dangerous and/or worthless trends that often populate this forum. but regardless of whether or not he would have recovered from any accutane-induced facial irregularities, there are others who have been using similar methods for 10+ months, etc. with positive results.

The first picture was taken ten months post tane AFTER. I am still very ill thanks to accutane but i am on a drug which cleared up the rosacea. Yes i had a more unever skintone but that has no relation to the scarring. Listen dude i said you can get a whole kit for 750 dollars, trying to compare it to say ONE treatment of the new fraxel.
Why do you keep bringing up the 750 dollar figure? as someone has said, that is form numbing creams, needles, dermaroller, lights, various topicals etc. All of which will last for atleast a year and the LEDs a lifetime.
Any other weak arguements?
What are you not believing from what i have said on here?
. I don't think you have ill intentions, but if you really want to help people you should show results that can be objectively compared.
I you can't see from the pictures i have posted that i have had some amazing results, regardless of the other differencies in skin tone etc then i don't know how i can convince you (i don't even want to now anyway). The first and last pictures were took in the dark under a down light in my lviing room at home, i re created exactly the same lighting. As i have said i will try taking more to replicate the pictures exactly, but i don't see why i should put in any more effort than i already have.
Can someone who has done this answer my questions please?
Thanks for the reply lamarr you are clearly helping alot of people. I just have a few more questions.
I have looked through the thread and you talk about sterilizing and Bactroban do i use this on the needles/dermaroller as well as the face or should i just use boiling water to clean the needles/dermaroller. Also where do you buy bactroban from?
How long have you been using Bactroban because some sites warn against prolonged use.
When i got dermarolled by Dr Chu he went back and forward then up and down then he seemed to twist the dermaroller around the scar full circle with what seemed to be the dermaroller on its side. Is this the same method he did to you?
is the process of dermarolling on the nose the same as the face? or could i do damage if i went as hard on the nose?

would i need to find a stopper with these needles? (second one down)

I will help answer some of questions..first off you want the needles that are the 3rd one down. if you want to make 100% sure you use 3mm to needle the scars then a stopper is needed. I did not use one when I needled. I just used about 1.5mm to 2mm worth of needle..
I personaly think rolling the nose would be very difficult..just my opinion from doing 2 rolling sessions at this point..ever been punched in the nose?? its very fragile and I would think this would be very hard to do..I would individualy needle any scars on the nose..just my 2 sense..
I would not use boiling water to steralize the roller. this can lossen up the roller head and needles could fall out or get stuck in your face..
I would just focus on rolling with even rolls. what somebody else does to you when they are rolling compared to doing it on yourself is two different things..I just use even rolls..
I cant help you with the Bactroban. Hope I helped alittle thou..
I get the bactroban from a website, i won't say which one on here though.... I have had it given to me by doctors before and it is exactly the same. I use hibiscrub/hibicleanse and alcohol to clean my rollers, the bactroban is for applying to the skin a few times in the first 24 HRS after rolling ONLY.
Dr Chu told me bactroban can be used for up to one week once per month. I only use it for several days maximum after an agressive roll. I have never had any flareups in acne or anything....

Does terproline cause any irritation like retin a? and can it make icepick or orange peel scarring look better?
No none whatsoever. It will help the orangepeel look SLIGHTLY by itself. But as with the LEDs you really need to be doing the needling, it is a synergetic effect with all three products.

Can you PM me the website? Also i am not going to be dermarolling my whole face just a couple of scars. do you think it would be better suited for me just to needle?
or would needling and dermaroling the same area have a greater effect?
Hey guys,
Just a quick word...
The argument against Lamarr is annoying. There are always sceptics who are tactless in their approaches to tarnish a treatment. But when Lamarr is clearly sharing his methods without profiting from anything why is there a need to argue against him? If someone doesn't agree share their thoughts with some evidence, and let people decide, right?
I made my decision based on my belief in Lamarr and the fact that it is a relatively cheap investment ($250 for two handheld LEDS - which is all you really need, particulary if you want to see how it goes). This is what others have done. I have used them for two nights, I have noticed that they do effect my skin, causing it to be a bit more dry and seems to effect texture slightly. I will see how it works on scar-treated skin...
I use goggles for those wondering. I use tanning ones which are quite cheap and do not ever look at the LEDS. I will probably put tin/aluminium foil on the inside of the goggles to provide further protection. This is what the LED man suggested actually, though he said there is no concern for eye damage, except by the infrared - which we cant see!
By the way I came across this LED light. It seems great for spot treatments of skin lesions, and Post inflammatory inflammation (I suffer from this badly, it takes ages to heal). Please see:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beurer-softlaser-V.../dp/B000XPGE1G/
I may go for this, it is reasonably cheap, and can be taken anywhere. It is also great for specific targets...
take care
There are 3 particular depressed acne scars I have considered needling.
The problem is they are to the left side of nose ( fairly prominent) and they actually have a few ice picks, scared pores and open pores that reside right within the depressed scars themselves. I'm worried that the ice picks and scarred pores will become worse if I decide to needle them.
I haven't looked that much into it but from some quick searching on acne.org, I'm not sure what the success rate is with these particular types.
I had two AMVC scars on my nose (two linear lines running parralel to each other) which were pretty obvious in some lighting. I needled them once and they now no longer bother me.
They were red for a few months though, this is probably due to the highly vascular nature of the nose.
Thanks for the reply. could you tell me where you got a stopper from. Also the scarred pores i have on my nose are very close together so would i need needle the whole area because the pores seem to small to concentrate on them 1 at a time.Do you think a TCA peel would be better suited than needling to improving the scarred pores? How do you sterlize your dermaroller?
I did not use stoppers..just googl them and you'll find some places to purchase them..I googled them weeks ago and easly found som places to purchase..
I would not use tca on my nose..I would needle..individual needling with the diabetic needles..do that and see where it gets you..

I think derma rolling over the area you needle will only benefit you..but if you make enough puncture wounds then rolling wont make much of a difference because its basicly like you rolled over it..if you just have some scattered scars, maybe try just needling first..once very 6 weeks..so do it once and do it good.

If you did not use stoppers how did you make sure you did not go too deep? Could you also me how you needle e.g. do you just leave the scar when you hear the fibres pop?
Here is that area I was speaking about ( scars with ice picks, scarred pores ect), of course the camera washed most of the fine detail out.
I think you can make out the area somewhat through these pics.
I'll start looking more into individually needling for this area.

its not as hard as you think..I control the needles..I make sure if anything I go less deep then overly deep..once you do it you will see its not as difficult as you think..practice will make perfect..just start off slowly.
I make as many puncture wounds in the scar as I can until the scar is swollen and I can know longer make out the scar..hit as much area of the scar with the needle as you can..I see blood when I know I made a proper puncture most of the time. clear it off and continue making puncture all over the scar from top to bottom from side to side..
Well making my own educated decision after careful consideration - I decided to purchase the Leds - red/infrared and yellow. The Led man is making them custom for me so that I can get coverage over my entire face in onw sitting since I have a substantial amount of scars scattered on both cheeks, forehead and temple. I had my second self needling session of individual needling on Friday using the diabetic needles and this time I covered a larger area and did the needling more agressively. So for most parts I hit it was actually the 1st time they were needled. I can't wait to receive my led lights to speed up the process. I have to say my family has not been supportive and even said they would be looking for results and if they don't see them they will say I told you so. My family has been very unsupportive ever since I spent $1200.00 on the co2 laser treatment I had almost 10 years ago. I wish I hadn't even told them about the leds and stuff, but it was a substantial investment for me because I needed alot of leds for entire facial coverage so I had to explain the extra expense. Anyway, this just adds a little more pressure to the mix to get results when I really shouldn't have anymore pressure then what is already on me. Well enough venting... I just wanted everyone to know that I think this is a good idea and ultimately I have confidence in Mark Lamar and Erynn's success and based on my own research was already going to do the needling based on many successful stories the LED lights only add a chance for a more positive outcome. At this point I am very hopeful. Oh yeah, I have increased my vitamin C intake to 2-3 grams per day and continue to take vitamins for the skin, hair and nails including biosil - a collegan producer.

Good Luck!
