@Candy SaysBtw I contacted the founder of Sunogel and he said that the pandemic caused some delays but he is still working on the product at the moment but hasn't updated the website. This is further supported by the patents that he has recently filed.
@Candy SaysThis is the email response for Quthero. Great News!!!! (Even though they haven't tested on old scars it should work in theory with scar revision)
Hi,
Thanks. We are not sure if it would work on old scars. We only tested on fresh incisions, ie scar prevention. The derm gel should be available later in the Fall through doctors offices. We could also sell directly at that time.
Thanks,
Milica
Again this fall!!! This might all be over soon!
Some news guys (although @presnalready mentioned something similar before) :
https://www.abbvie.com/our-science/pipeline/devices.html
Tropoelastin, the elastagen-made product, is OFFICIALLY in the pipeline (we couldn't see it before). Which means the trials were successful and it does work the way it was intended to: correcting atrophic scars and stretch marks.
Doesn't sound like much when you say it like that, but it's very VERY big: we've been waiting for years for this to happen. First Allergan bought Elastagen, then Abbvie (one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world, mind you) bout Allergan.
So now, it's just a matter of time, but it's gonna happen.
TLDR: it's super big news regarding people with stretch marks and atrophic scars. Just gotta be patient now, we know there's a breakthrough and that it works. Abbvie will VERY probably post official news in the foreseeable future at that point, let's wait.
For hypertrophic scars, there's still a long way to go though (as far as tropoelastin is concerned) so you might want to look at other trials from other labs in the meantime (and to be honest, I'm not familiar at all with hypertrophic scars since that's not what got me on this journey)
Take care y'all.

what does the term scar correction mean?Because personally I don't want a simple improvement but a real healing of the scars.

Physiologically, I don't know how scars can be "healed". The reason there are scars in the first place is because of destruction of tissue. They can't just undestruct the tissue...
But scar correction? yes. Excision? yes. Strong peels? yes.

Unlike Sunogel, they have been giving frequent updates (last one is may 2022) and have investment from TWO major firms. In a 2020 interview, they claimed that it will be available for surgical use in 2-3 YEARS (The pandemic likely slowed this down a bit; although they just have been designated as a type VI medical device in Canada). This one is legit and likely coming very soon. I will keep you updated when the company representative responds to an email with questions.
"About Quthero:
Quthero aims to disrupt skin care following dermatological procedures such as laser skin resurfacing & microneedling and to eliminate scarring post plastic surgery using patented hydrogels. Qutheros flagship hydrogel product enables full regrowth of human skin 60-200% faster than current products and without scarring. At the heart of all Qutheros products is a unique peptide sequence, discovered and developed at MIT, Boston Childrens Hospital and University of Toronto, that is demonstrated to promote full and scarless skin regeneration. This unique molecule is incorporated into three new products launched

I would like to apply this hydrogel after micro coring could be a game changer

that's a question better asked to abbvie at this point.
What I can tell you is that the ex owners of elastagen are under a NDA so they can't say anything anymore.

Do you read anything into the fact they filed for acne scars only and not stretch marks?
guys i've been coming here on and off for 15 years and I've been hearing about hydrogels etc.. for ages. All this stuff above are just fillers. It's all still "in the future," "needs more work," blah blah. I don't see how anything here is new. This is as advanced as we have right now and it's definitely at least 20 years away or more for clinical use. Right now they're using rat tail stem cells mixed with human foreskin printing etc. etc. It's not going to be possibility anytime soon. If they can't do it how is guoming sun going to do anythng better.
the only game in town for a long while is going to be subcision with plenty of fillers (as you pass 40 those atrophic scars start to get way deeper) and then additional textural improvement with rf inini laser/needling. And that's what we got guys. If you're in your teens now maybe in your 30s there will be something. Right now you can get 30 percent improvement with sculptra and laser and add retinoic acid nightly as it will improve skin turnover.
I've been hearing about this guoming sun guy now for ages all these people are just funded researchers as universities. They're going to be working on these projects all their lives, until they're picked up by the next group of scientists or abandoned all together.

Tropoelastin seems right around the corner no? Granted, it will only treat a couple type of scars - looks like acne and stretch marks. Fully scarless for hypertrophic seems further out, yes.
good afternoon, first of all I apologize for my bad English, I do it with a translator, I see that there is a group on telegram called verteporfine research and another called KK scar revision, where there is a person who had several scars treated with verteporfine In Turkey, he publishes photos of the progress of the scars and so he shows if verteporfin works, he also gives names of doctors who are using verteporfin to treat scars.

What are we looking at? Is that before and after? Is the second one supposed to be better?

These are some images that he has published of the evolution that he has had, they are different scars, in the second he says that the scar is flat and that it is only hyperpigmented after 90 days, he is showing images of the evolution of 50 scars that he has throughout the body, some have improved quite well. Sorry for my english so bad i do it with translator.

The fact that non of these companies (Quthero, Omegaskin, etc) has published photos of "before and after" tells me that whatever their products do is actually not that impressive
