So according to this youtube video, Lifesprout went into clinical trials starting Q4 of 2020 and Q1 of 2021, however I wasn't able to find any public clinical trials for them on clinicaltrials.gov.When do they plan on coming to market? Are they in fact in clincial trials?

In addition, do you guys know when Tempo Theraputics is going to start clinical trials for their MAP gel? I just read that they are taking the 510k route through the FDA and their product is a hydrogel that gets rid of scar tissue on new wounds.

None of these things will ever work, let alone get FDA approval and ever come to market. This thread has been going on for nearly 14 years! Cheers to another 14.

I have a good feeling about micro-coringreplacing a lot of the functions/ improving on the functions of laser/ surgical excision. It might not be an immediate magic solution but I think it will give people a lot of hope. It's a Rox Anderson/ MGH inventionand they've got a proven track record of their ideas gettingto market. Cryolipolysis being one of the most recent ones.

Getting rid of the damaged tissue altogether has always been the best treatment, only thing was another scar resulted from excisions, now you don't get a replacement scar, just neighbouring healthy skin filling the gaps.

The one thing which I have been wondering is that the surrounding skin within a scar tissue is scar tissue, so logically I'm guessing it would need to start from the borders...do you see what I mean? I am not sure how the surrounding scar tissue will respond...If the so called "deletion" event occurs then we would be sorted!

Scar tissue can contract as Burns scars tend to have the problem of over contraction.Forced wound closure should help. But I think you are right that youd want to start at the edge and work inwards, ifits a large scar.

Scar contraction is caused by granulation bed fibroblasts, microcoring doesn't trigger such a response so i doubt you'd have to be picky about where to start from, the little reference on scars said fibrosis(scar tissue) was reduced with each treatment. Fingers crossed we see it this way when its discussed for rejuvenation a few months from now.

Its just another skin tightening or rejuven method , i doubt it will help scars

Im an old timer,used to be a somewhat prominent figure here back in 09-10, while still in college.Here Ive found a herd that I couldroam with thatcomprised of like minded people, at a timewhen my day to day life constantly reminded me of my status as ablack sheep.

Long time has passed since and Ive abandoned the search for a cure.There are people in much worse situations and othersin much better. Make an effort to putyourself out there and like minded people will gravitate to you and you to them, and you can have a very fulfilling life. If youre in your 20s, dont miss out on these times, once you get older youll acquire a lot of wisdom and along with it, regrets.

Check back every now and then, but obsessing over these cures..it becomes a never ending cycle.

Now on a side note, Ive briefly skimmed the latest stuff that you guys are getting excited about, just thought Id rant about it for a sec.

Elastagen, and Micro coring.

For Elastagen, just because Allargen is willing to pay an absurd amount for it,does not automatically imply a directcorrelationto itsefficacy. They are a leader in the space of fillers, if theres a another filler that they believe could even become 2nd rank to them, theyll buy them out, no reason to take chances to wait and see if it actually works or not. Second, this is nowhere near scarless healing, its still a filler,hopefully it integrates with your skin generates elastin toimproveappearance and giveextra elasticity.. all good things, can potentially do a lot for rolling scars or stretch marks, but thats about it,truly atrophic stuff, you would need a lot more, would definitely probably need subcision in conjunction and maybe other stuff if you want to truly see something.

Micro coring.. its an interesting one.. if it truly does what I think it says, removing cores at a diameter at which the holes will just close themselves. I think its true for healthy tissue to contract itself to fill thegap that was extracted.I dont know that scar tissue behaves the same way.. but if it does, then yes in theory you can just repeatedly extract skin, until most of the scar tissue has been excised, if it supposedly removes 5% of surface area at a time.. youre looking at a lot of treatments. Now if its through out yourface.. how much of your skin is a safe amount to be extracting. Following this therell be a lot of stretched skin. I dont see this being viable for large areas, since the real issue is not being tackled, this is just a fancy excision, which could be great for a couple scars here and there though.

FS2! I forgot they existed haha.They released some data from a trial on mature keloidslast month. It showed statistically significant improvement in old keloid scars compared to other products. They are heading in to a stage III trial for old scars potentially by end of 2021.

The are supposedly currently recruiting for FS2 as scar prevention method in a phase II trial.

So long as the scar being treated isn't hyertrophic or lacking a ton of volume I really don't see a problem in micro-coring extracting scar tissue and it closing up normally. The device is an array of hollow needles that creates cores of complete skin right down to and a bit after the dermis even hitting the fat(it suctions these cores out of the skin), the body's response to small injuries from needles even to scars is to close the hole up, if microneedling doesn't leave open holes in scars then its a no-brainer this won't either. The info on how it works is in the patent, the greater the area removed the less skin you have there as the areas treated close up like an open zipper. My hope is pretty high but its not like I'm deathly focused on it working. The coming months/years will be the answer.

I'm a bit higher on the concept of elastagen than others here, especially for rolling scars. However, I'm skeptical that Allergan will focus on acne scars applications. Probably just wrinkles & stretch marks.

There's (probably) still years before it hits the market too

It clearly states it online (listed in first page of google search,  under INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION PUBLISHED UNDER THE PATENT COOPERATION TREATY)  and a clinical trial (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03782038) was conducted specifically for scars.

Also, in medicine treatments are constantly repurposed to treat different conditions i.e. botox was originally intended for chronic migraines and then its application became relevant to the cosmetic industry. However, at least here the device is targeted to treat scars too from the outset which is not a bad start!!! Whether it has shown positive or promising results is another matter  

There will be a conference around April on the effectiveness of microcoring as a rejuvenation device. Also, though not cytrellis but fig 131 on recrossmedia device is about using microcoring to remove scars, they have over 7 examples on both using microcoring for w plasty, z plasty and using it only to remove a hypotrophic scar and raise the scar edge to the level of normal skin with continuing treatments to remove the scar. Cytrellis patent mentions it being used to remove scars from acne, accident, etc so the two aren't far off, it's even in the patent that being such an outpatient procedure it could be done in a spa, so if it's released and becomes mainstream it doesn't stop you from going to get it done on your scar even if it's mostly used for skin tightening elsewhere. Best of luck to everyone, hope it all works out well, won't be devastated if it doesn't.
