The insecurity of some (I did say "some") people in this thread is insane, damn ...

Mini handheld microbiopsy device that heals scarlessly. Takes 0.15mm x 0.4mm. Currently geared towards diagnostic tissue sampling. But perhaps could eventually be useful to us in terms of DIY scar management.

Interesting but it only removes skin at a depth of 0.4mm atm and accuracy might be a problem looking at its design.

Yeah, that isn't really made for us. At 0.4mm it would only really removesurface damage like scarred pores. I'm more interested in itas a proof that a manual microbiopsy works and is scarless. The company that is producing it is looking to come out with a range of microsampling tools so I'll keep it earmarked to see if they come up with anything more suitable for us.

A lil question guys, kinda forgot to ask: where exactly are we supposed to look for the elastagen papers once they're published? I'm particularly interested in what it'll mean for stretch marks. Thank you.

Yeah I'd like to know too as I can't see any mention of elastagen on the abbvie website in their pipeline section

I'll answer that question guys, as I asked Rob Daniels before on linkedin. Basically that's how you'll be able to find out where the elastagen papers are once they're out

"Hi *********, the lead author will be Van Den Berg and I will be the last author. So if you Google 'Van Den Berg, PubMed, stretch marks or tropoelastin' the paper should come up once it is published. Best Regards, Rob

I strongly disagree with this statement: we're already seeing proof thanks to tropoelastin that skin conditions like acne scar, stretch marks and atrophic scars will be very treatable in a matter of years (although I'm not talking about perfect, scarless skin healing, admiteddly) AND that's only one way to fix it: there are going to be several other ways to treat those in the future.

If you're talking about 100% scarless condition, I'll admit that no one knows when that will occur, but if you're talking about drastic and major improvement, then we are actually slowly getting there.

I'd advise waiting for the elastagen papers either at the end of the year or the beginning of next year, then we'll know if we really got the right on our hand for stretch marks and acne scars, WHICH is going to be an indication of what tropoelastin will do for more serious scars in the future once proper research has been done. If not, then yeah it's back to waiting.

I recently read another forum where Guoming Sun said: I can't say everything right now. But I can say that we don't need the next few years. I'll tell you when I can.

I have been following this thread for years...and the hope from people year after year never ends.I have seen so many suppose treatments come and gone.I am not saying that there is not a chance but you have to change years of evolution. They have been saying for years about a cure for cancer ect but nothing ever comes of any of this so what makes you think they can get rid of scars? Prevention is the best treatment!

Regardless of when anything truly regenerative appears, live your life. Might be hopeful to read up on all these tech but what some people in this thread fail to realise is that raising and pitting all your hopes on "breakthrough x" will only make you sad when it doesn't come or fails to live up to the hype it had.

I recently joined here. Have other tools been created before and not brought to market?

Well , true and not so true, medicine is making big progress, i know people, even from my family that had tumor / cancer, they underewent treatment and live , their parent / parents died cause of same issue 30 years ago, yes theres no ultimate cure for cancer , but medicine can treat succesfully conditions like never before, look at AIDS f.e. , same with scarring esp. acne scars , in 80 s u gotta live with that, in 90 s somethin new came - subc , lasers etc , now we have some very good treatments and modalities, is it something that can give u 80-90% improvement ? No, but some correction is possible, in 5 years from now there will be something new again, theres still some new better energy device, new filler, new technique for subcision and so on , its getting better and betterm lets hope within 10 years there will be something that can reallygreatly reduce acne scarring and scars overally.

Yes it is, and why are u suprised ?

But my post was aobut the fact that we can have better treatment nowadays with drs that specialize in this field, yes its not great but still better then 10 years ago, and it will be much better in next then years thats it.

I live my life , and i have quite succesfull and very proactive life but still i want my acne scars gone or at least greatly reduced and so far it went quite good with my journey, could it be better ? Yes but thats what it is. And dont look in to the mirror ? Oh comon dont be ridiculous, you cant ignore mirrors, i have to shave and brush my teeths 🙂
