I have a large but unobtrusive burn scar (mostly flat but very shiny) that runs along the bottom of my jaw. That would take quite some time for micro coring to remove (if it can). But I think removing 5-8% of the skin every3 months would make a drastic difference. In theory if this machine works like we hope after 1 yearon a scar like mine ie. a solid block of damaged skin, you couldpotentially have 4 treatments and 20-32% of the scar removed. 2 years and 8 treatments for 40-64%, 3 years and 12 treatments for60-96%, 4 years and 16 treatments for 80% +
However, with a more scattered pattern of scarring you might need a lot more treatments than 4 to even reach 20-32% scar reduction as you won't be guaranteed to be just hitting the scars with every micro core taken out. There is a picture on the link below of how small the cores taken are.
I see that the other micro coring system by Recros Medica has a much smaller area of coverage from the hand piece butwith larger cores. Theoretically much more useful if you have small scattered scars but...1.5mm seems far too big a chunk of skin to me to remove safely.
I'll wait patiently till Cytrellis release the trial results on scars before I get too excited. What I would be most interested in seeing is how the device fares at removing tattoos (mentioned in the patent somewhere). I think that would give the best visual indication of how much skin is actually being removed and how quickly it can do it.
The potential price of this though is concerning as understandably they need to use consumables with the device and that cost of course is passed on to the customer. Could be a very expensive...especially if you're getting 12+ treatments for any marked change.

I read the previous pages and there you wrote that it does not remove the elastogenic scar.Is that right? sunogelchi? micro coringchi? they also do not remove the scar 100%?

I saw it in one forum.Don't worry about the appearance of a means to remove acne scars by 2025

That was my concern with Cytrellisthat I raised with themregarding the accuracy. I mentioned to them that they need a single core handpiece for better targeting of scattered scars like acne scars. I said Recros Medica have a single core piece but its too big for face at 1.5mm. Seriously its super frustrating. They responded by saying they cant go into too much detail as they are still in development. *sigh*...you could literally mark with a marker on your face the individual little acne scars/scar tissue spots and they could trace along those areas marked as if they were removing tattoo and each time you went back for treatments you would have less areas marked up for them to remove. It would result in faster results, less downtime and be more cost effective.
Anyway hope they listened to me.

Whats your thoughts on Microcoring being useful for Rollingacne scars which are often tethered down to underlying hypo dermis/Subcutaneous layer.
Microcoring is said to remove full thickness skin but what is actually defined as full thickness skin? Is it down to the dermis only or is it the subcutaneous layer also?
Also what depth do Icepick scars go to as I believe they are quite deep?
The Dermis is roughly around 2mm on face in depth so curious how deep the core would go down safely to remove tissue. One would think mostscars would get cored out at a maximum depth whatever its capable of.
One of the clinics that were seeking patients for the trials were looking for ance scar patients but had2 photos of acne scars as examples that were Ice Pick and Boxcar type.See link

Hello there, completely new guy here.
My question is purely about stretch marks. I have 0 acne scars and 0 scars (from accidents, you know), but I have tons of stretch marks (I have them on all my joints) because I grew up too fast. They're not severe, but they're still very annoying to me visually, it's a problem.
If I understood well, elastagen has a very good product coming up based on tropoelastin, that should be a breakthrough treatment, which will finally bring a solution to this? Can anyone confirm? If not, is there something else coming up?
Again, this is just about stretch marks scarring, nothing else.
Thanks in advance

Hi new guy!
To answer simply yes, there are many treatments coming out in the next 5 years that willrevolutionize the treatment of stretch marks and at the same scarring, they mighteven completely remove them. The closest one is microcoring that is coming out latethis year or at the begining of 2021. Then there is tripolastin but its at least 2 years away. There is also hydrogel called sunogel that saya to give a 100% regenerated perfect skin but nobody knows then its coming. Any way you look those years are quite promising.

No one can promise you a 100% reduction, but if we're talking about a tremendously big improvement (80-90%), then the next years are going to be great yeah, as nothing works for stretch marks right now.
I managed to talk to the guy who actually IS the one who managed to synththize tropoelastin (and who created Elastagen) and asked him if this would be the first treatment ever to finally work against stretch marks, and he said that it was very likely to be the case based on their clinical trials.

whether it will be possible to remove scars 100% in the coming years?

No, I was only answering his question about stretch marks. I don't know about scars nearly as much, as my research is the same as his: I don't have scars either, but I do have lots of stretch marks from puberty too, so I can kinda understand his question.
stretch marks are atrophic, while scars can be hypertrophic, which is probably why he mentioned elastagen rather than other clinical trials.
So yeah I don't know about other types of scarring, but I do believe we have something good for stretch marks coming up, for sure.

This information is very old. 2015. In general, will there be a sunogel with micro coring?
