13 hours ago, Anonymouz1 said:You can't say you didn't find a good doctor. Most dermatologists are hard to come by. I have seen thousands of them and they put me on antibiotics but they failed. I do believe one antibiotic I took helped clear part of it. I was 23 at that time. Also, at the time my face had mostly cleared up too on its own. It took some time for the redness to dissapate. At that time, I was able to assess the damage and it wasn't pretty. About 20 or so small ice picks and some 3 or so boxscars on my temples and cheeks. My jawline had white little raised scars which looked like hypertrophic scars but according to this forum it's follicular macular atrophy. Most of these had already formed from years ago. Taking Accutane at 23 was a lost cause because I already had most of my severe scars from it from my teenage years. Many dermatologists simply did not follow up with me and flushed me everytime I asked for a check up or a second consultation. Their staff would be rude to me everytime I called to book another appointment. At 20, they suggested Accutane for the first time but when I went for my appointment, the dermatologist was not there. I realized this derm was not for me. Most derms in America don't view acne as a serious condition. It is a cosmetic issue and anything cosmetic falls in another category. Attitudes have changed over the years because they rather have people develop the scars so they can make cash on fake scar revisions. The younger generation has better resources than I did. In my teenage years, they would tell me to use over the counter products which did zit for me and horrible antibiotics. If only Accutane was prescribed to me at 14, I would be cleared right now or maybe not. I can't say that this drug would leave me scarless or more scarred. I do not know.
My mother was against me taking this drug the first she heard of it. The number one reason I never took was because of her and the second reason mental illness in the family. The dermatologist told me to research it on the Internet and its possible side effects. He wasn't to happy about giving to me. At my second consultation, he forgot to come at his office.
I did find all those issues with dryness, impotence, hair loss and suicidal thoughts quite frightening as well. I realized that this drug was a bit like going on radiation therapy treating some sort of cancer. It was scary. At 20, I was a full time university student working entry level positions in big companies. This drug would of held me back. The scars had already formed on my face and back. I can tell you that a decade later my scars did not in no way prevent me from going out there and living. It's all really in my head and the same thing goes for you. The only thing I regret is not getting into a committed relationship with a girl because I thought she would reject me. The years have passed and now it's hard to find someone. I'm still self conscious of these scars. As I got older I realized that girls do not care about them. It's hard for me though to commit and stay with a woman long term because of these scars.
I had a period of remission from body acne between 20 to 22. At that point, most of it had cleared but since 22 it flared again and stuck with me. There are periods of remission and full blown break outs since then. Because of the remissions, I never took Accutane. I saw no point in it. I cut a bit of meat out of my diet, cut dairy and sugars competely, I exercised and I eat lots of veggies/fruits. I was able to control it with simple lifestyle changes. Over the last year, it has come back on my back, face, buttocks but not to the level of my teenage years and the lesions don't leave scars behind. I just want for these annoying things to stop growing in the first place. Being in my thirties and suffering from this affliction is much worse than teenage acne.
As for the scars, I am stuck with them. A reminder that I went through was a very unnecessary and stupid skin condition. I can only hope for skin regeneration to restore my skin.
im the same boat with you. Im more annoyed about scars in back than face, like you My mother was against me taking accutane when I was 15 but later in 19 age I take accutane but now It was late the scars were left. I do not what to do I am in disastrous physical and mental state from these scars, im 21 and I never date any girl because im insecure about scars or I dont get out with friends or something from these scars
my life is totally fucked
I do not have the will to live.

What part of the fat disclaimer about forward looking statements doesn't resonate with you lot? JFC. This isn't coming out commercially in 2018. Can any of you read?
Forward looking statements is just to cover themselves incase they need to delay or there's complications for whatever reason. I can't believe your argument is the "forward looking statements" section. Every company has disclaimers like that; what are you 10? You don't know how business works?

I said IF ALL GOES WELL. Which means there can be delays or other complications. It can fail too who knows. I don't make idiotic claims like you.
I even highlighted it for you because you obviously don't research anything. Human trials should have started or should start this month. The recent update however, moved the date for commercialization from 1H 2018 to 2H 2017. That's not a delay, that's fast forwarding commercialization. It's highlighted for you. It literally says clinical deployment and commercialization of SkinTE in 2H 2017.
You only make claims just to be a pessimist and you never show any evidence. Cite me your sources and provide me with credibility if you want to debate with me. I don't do the childish naivity where you just argue over your own personal pessimistic views simply because you only pay attention to the negativity in your own life. It really reflects how weak minded someone can be.
If you don't think this will work then stop wasting your time here and get lost; otherwise start citing sources, links and providing an actual counter-argument to your biased opinion. And if you think it's 10 years away, then stop wasting those 10 years here and leave. Come back when those years have passed. Trust me, everyone will find a way to manage here without you and your instability.

If you really believe that, bet me 200 dollars that they will have a clinical trial by the end of the year. I will take that bet any day of the week.

They already got millions in funding and their board of directors are some of the best around. All this wouldn't have happened if the product didn't work.
I'm not doubting whether or not it will work. At the very least they have proof of concept. What I am doubting is the timeline they're giving. That's all. A lot of you are acting like you'll be able to get surgery next year, it's just no going to happen like that. I'm sorry but it's true.

That is not a citation of anything we don't already know, that's a disclaimer that all companies have to remain protected. Everyone is well aware that there could be possible delays and possible complications. Try again.
Limited commercialization for the 1st year if it works. Then they expand to more clinics and then they expand to cosmetic/scar revision. I am talking about burn wounds here not about scars. I am well aware that scars are a couple of years off. I see the bigger picture though, not just my scar.
I never said anything about getting surgery next year and I haven't seen anyone else comment about getting surgery next year. If someone said that you can quote them; otherwise, that's called mindless ranting and pouting.
You can doubt the timeline all you want, but crying about it won't change anything. They stated they want to commercialize this 2H 2017 so they are working to achieve that goal. It doesn't matter how much you complain about the timeline PolarityTE gave, They're not going to change it just because for whatever reason that you fail to give, "doubt it." We are all aware the timeline can change. All I was stating was that they pushed their timeline for market release up from 1H 2018 to 2H 2017 which means they now plan to commercialize sooner. Based on all the research gathered by them and how long it takes for full skin regeneration and the Human trials they planned to start in Q3 of 2017, It's POSSIBLE. Look up what "possibility" means because it neither agrees or disagrees with your unsupported claim. The difference between me and you is that I'm not disagreeing nor agreeing with your claim. You on the other hand are upset because you want the thread to act a certain way. "A lot of you are acting like you'll be able to get surgery next year." You're clearly wrong because I am actually acting like we might've discovered the next medical frontier and the birth of the biotech boom. How do you want us to act? Do you want me to pout with you?
I'll ask one more time, show me evidence that supports your claim that this can't be commercialized at the end of 2017. If you can't come up with anything, then your claim is just your opinion and nothing more.
Guys, with respect, HERE'S HOW THIS WORKS. So you've all probably heard of epibone. The PhD from MIT who started it had been pursuing this several years ago. The company was formed several years ago and even had Peter Thiel invest in it (one of the biggest VC guys, made billions off of facebook). TED talks all sorts of proof of concept blah blah. But that was now well over a few years ago they kept saying "human trials next year, human trials next year....we can grow bones for anything in 3 weeks." Okay fine. So there's no news even though the CEO is everywhere delivering talks blah blah. Latest article she says human trials are "soon" not next year anymore (even though that's what they've been claiming since 2014) and now she's saying "maybe" "MAYBE" this will go commercial for the first test subjects in 2022-2023! She says "this is a marathon not a sprint". You guys should ALL read this since it's directly connected to the challenges of any sort of technology like this requiring biological regeneration. I'm sorry guys. I talked to a PhD at MIT and for skin he said "maybe" technology will exist by 2030. So I think we should go back to seeing what does work. Have you guys all had several rounds of laser, plus TCA cross, plus subcision plus fillers? It'll only cost you altogether maybe 20 grand. And that's a lot less than what this new skin Polarity TE will cost you when it's available (maybe!) by 2030. So don't waste your life, try these other remedies first. Maybe mix aggressive dermapenning with PRP and RECELL. All of this available now. I'm going in that direction and will stop checking this board so often (I know its addictive, because its much easier to use this as an excuse and think "everything will be alright when i have no more acne scars). But it won't you have only now. And nothing will change when your scars are gone. Do what you can with existing technology and then practice acceptance.

PolarityTE does not work for scars like atrophic, ice pick or rolling scars. I hope if he can work for surgical or hypertrophic scars therefore I follow this thread because I know than polarityte will not work for atrophic scars cause from acne but hope he can make something for hypertrophic scars, because I have abnormal scars all over my shoulders and atrophic scars in face.
sorry for my english

Nobody care about your opinions. You have ruined this thread so many times. Thats why several of us have started our own private forum with more information (than you deserve to get).

This is wrong. First, we don't know if PolarityTE works, so you can't correctly make a statement like that. Second, if it were to work, meaning, if it generated 'full-thickness' skin, that means it will work for acne scars.
Also, somebody mentioned that human trials have started. Unless I've missed something, the new presentation doesn't say anything about human trials having begun.
I come back to this thread to see if anybody has new information in light of the new investor presentation, just to find the same recycled rants. Why don't you people go post in the emotional support thread? Keep this thread focused and stop spreading misinformation.
@beautifulambition Are there grounds for you to moderate this thread? I know you're busy but this is one of the most active threads and it's overrun by inane posts.

What I find strange is how passive the moderator is. He should have stepped in much earlier to stop the ranting and negative post that have ruined this thread.
Please report the posts you feel are in error "report post." Remember most Moderators here are volunteers and have several fires to deal with. I have passed this on to Senior Mods and they will deal with any issue you report.
@FrasierI am not passive in this matter, I have deferred it up the chain. Everyone has a place here at acne.org and is at different places in their journey and health. Many are holding on this hope here for a cure or are upset that they cannot fix their issues. Remember we all cohabitate here as a community.
May I suggest if you do not wish the public to interact in your discussion you move to private messaging in a group chat to the chosen members of your choice. Maybe one of you can post updates here on the thread for the public occasionally.

I'm simply trying to point out that the timeline they give is purposefully optimistic. Really, all we can do is wait and see. I'm optimistic overall because of the surgeon's credentials and the first animal test.

Here we go with the "I talked with a PhD" crap again. I will make sure to note that: "Acquiring a PhD in anything suddenly gives you fortune telling powers." It's not that I'm against you because you are entitled to your own opinion, but when you claim something as fact when it hasn't been proven or unproven; it just makes you sound silly.Denver Lough, the CEO of PolarityTE also has a PhD so what point do you try to make with that? You reference some guy from a TED talk that failed to deliver a product so you just automatically concludethat this company will fail now too? These are two different minds at work and they aren't even using the same ideology.
Fast forward to 1:07:00 and watch just 5-10 minutes from that point. English developmental biologist and professor John Gurdon, presented findings on the potential of turning adult stem cells back into embryonic cells in 2006. Watch just that part of the video because he states "In the far distant future, I'm sure long after my time, it should in principle be possible to take a skin cell and to over-express in that cell those genes which are needed to re-program that cell back into an embryonic condition without even having to go through an egg." In 2007 just a year after, the first induced pluripotent cell (IPS cell) was created. IPS cells are capable of becoming any type of cell. Professor Gurdon thought this wasn't going to be achieved for decades and it was achieved just a year after he gave that speech. By the way, he also has a PhD.
PolarityTE has a different ideology than them as well. Everyone is trying to make stuff in a dish with chemical alterations and incubating while Polarity is using all autologous tissue as well as homologous factors. They're two different methodologies.
You also don't know how much Polarity's product will cost so don't say other treatments are more affordable when Polarity has yet to hit the market or establish any pricing for their product. That's if they succeed in human trials.
Here's how this really works: No-one can predict the future.
